Aria's POV
I couldn't sleep. Thirst gripped me, leaving my mouth dry and longing for water. Quietly, I left the room and ventured down the dimly lit hallway, unsure of where the kitchen was. Trusting my instincts, I descended the stairs, trying not to make a sound.
Finally reaching the kitchen, I grabbed a glass from the cupboard and filled it with water. Just as I relaxed, a sudden sound behind me startled me. The glass slipped from my hand, shattering loudly as it hit the floor. Fear surged through me as I turned to face the unexpected disturbance.
Cassian emerged from the shadows, his voice cutting through the quiet night. "What the fuck," he exclaimed, eyeing the shattered glass and the blood pooling on the floor. I hastily explained that I was just trying to get a drink.
