Chapter 12 - Chapter 9 - Reflections

The entire journey home Luna kept looking out the window of the cab. As the lights of the town passed by his window rapidly, he couldn't stop thinking of Rachel. There was something about Rachel that didn't quite fit.

Was I the way she stood in the dress? Luna felt like the dress didn't quite fit her frame right. When Anna wore her ballgown, she looked feminine in it, however Rachel well…she looked almost….princely. No.. Maybe it was because she had broad shoulders for a woman.

Also, Luna noticed the height difference when he held Rachel in his arms. Maybe it was the heels? But Luna couldn't remember seeing her feet as the gown had been so long…

And there was something about Rachel's smell…like, as awful as it was to be engaged to a girl, this girl in particular…smelt nice. Luna felt so relaxed around her, like he just wanted to sink his head on her shoulder and…

Luna slapped himself in the face. I am gay! Or I thought…maybe I'm bi? Bi for Rachel? "What the hell is going on with me these days? I have barely spent any time with her and I think I'm…kinda into her…but no, I am still SUPER into Ryan." Luna accidentally said out loud to himself.

"Hey, kid, are you alright back there?" The cab driver asked, looking at him in the review mirror.

"Ah yeah sorry, I'm just...thinking of stuff" Luna replied sheepishly.

"Ah ok, got a test to study for huh? When I was a student I –" The cab driver began to ramble on but Luna had already tuned out.

"Maybe it's the blond hair. I was superimposing my affection for Ryan, onto Rachel. It doesn't help that they have similar names" Luna thought to himself and sighed.

"Awe don't be depressed, I'm sure we all overcome tests differently" Luna suddenly heard the cab driver say, probably in response to Luna's sigh.

"Ahh ha yeah, the stress of it all, it's killing me" Luna replied, feeling a little bad that he hadn't paid attention to anything that had been said.

The cab pulled up to the dorm and Luna alighted. He gave a large tip on the cab booking app as he felt bad that he had tuned out for most of the conversation, and then walked over to the entrance of the dorm.

There leaning against the door frame, was none other than Luka.

Luka straightened up when he saw Luna approaching.

"Umm Luna, I'm sorry I bolted. I…think we should talk" Luka said.

Luna stood for a second and contemplated the options. Then he nodded and proceeded to tap his school card that opened the entrance, and the two of them went up to his room to have a long conversation into the night.
