After arriving at the private kitchen restaurant, Liu Meixin ordered a table full of fine dishes, all famous in the capital city.
"The Lu cuisine at this restaurant is the most authentic, especially the guo bao rou, which was made by the descendants of the imperial chefs from the Qing dynasty," Liu Meixin said as she opened up the conversation to chat with Wang Daniu.
"You're quite familiar with Chinese cuisine; you don't seem like an overseas Chinese at all," Wang Daniu said with a smile.
Liu Meixin frowned and said, "Actually, my family immigrated to the beautiful country from our motherland in the early years of the founding of the PRC. All that's left of our impression of China is the cuisine."
Wang Daniu smiled and complimented, "You overseas families that strive and succeed abroad are courageous and capable people."
What was supposed to be a compliment sparked a lively response from Liu Meixin.
