The year 2532 Drum Tower City
In the yard of St. Mary's orphanage a young Gilbert De Nune was leaning against the building with two laser guns carved from wood in his hand. He could see the other three from the opposing team slowly searching the yard for him, with a deep breath he rolls from his hiding place making laser noises a two boys one about to turn the corner to find him and the other checking up the tree for him. Sprinting quickly towards the tree he slides as he dodges the imaginary lusers from the girl at the door, moving quickly he shoots at her as well as he rolls into cover behind a bed of flowers
"Ha, I guess I am the best of us all. Later I will become a glorious marine knight like my older cousin. You guys should really work harder how-" As his speech was ramping up he felt a cold piece of metal placed at the back of his head.
"Oh glorious marine knight there are many enemies to look for even after a battle is won, now join your brothers in nihility." Said a muffled voice behind him. As Gilbert placed his hands up slowly he looked behind him to see mechanical suit over 7 ft tall fully coated in black with azure embellishments, D33U1931 on his right chest and a azure dragon head on his left chest. Holding onto a large laser rifle whose muzzle now rests on Gilbert's forehead as he allows him to face him.
"Daniel you don't count. I promise you as soon as I get examined I will better than you as well!" Exclaimed Gilbert proudly. Still, Gilbert looked at his cousin Daniel with fascination as he was what every youthful boy and girl in poor areas wished to be.
"I don't doubt it but first let me talk to mother and grandmother before I take you all to the Issa center." Said Daniel as he said that he removed the rifle from Gilbert's forehead and removed his helmet showing a strong face in a buzz cut with a scar running across his nose bridge. With powerful steps towards the orphanage.
As Gilbert watched him walk inside he called to his friends Adam, Anastasia and Kean, moving quietly they came to the window and placed their ears near it. As they listened for any sound inside the window was opened and the head caretaker Madam Margery Gilbert's grandma was looking out at them.
"To clean the yard every single last one of you, and I don't want to see e leaf in sight, just let me see one leaf just one and you all shall know what clock a strike tonight!" She yelled sending them all running. Looking for a little while more to ensure that they were doing what they were told she went back inside the house.
As they cleaned the yard Gilbert couldn't help but wonder what they were speaking about but as they had already been caught he knew his grandmother's temper she would ensure they couldn't sit for another week if they dared try to eavesdrop again.
"Hey, Gilbert do you really suppose we will become marine knights?" Asked Kean, a slender Caucasian boy with white hair and blue eyes.
"What's so good about becoming a marine knight, it's better to become a machinist not only do they have to depend on us we also get to create cool things," said Anastasia, a girl with red hair and chestnut eyes she continued "Think about it we may even get to create an anti-gravity bus for everyone from the orphanage to use and be the first ones to own them in Drum Tower City.
"Oh please, marine knights are the coolest. Plus I remember my dad was one so I will become one as well and learn where he is so I can question him." Said Gilbert.
"You gYou should shut up and hurry, unless you don't want to be examined then it doesn't make a difference what you guys want to be as you won't even get the chance if Chief Madam doesn't see this hard spotless." Said Adam a Caucasian boy with dark hair and eyes. As they heard this everyone shut up and got to work . After about and hour Daniel came out of the house and looking at four of them looking at him hopefully he let out a silent sigh before pointing his head towards the door where the head caretaker and her daughter were waiting with four bags in their hands. Going silently towards his aunt Deborah a brown lady with a pixie cut his aunt as well as Daniel's mom Gilbert took his bag from her. Bending she placed a kiss on his forehead.
"Listen to me now all of you. If you ended passing the requirements to join the army you will taken to military school where you learn while also serving out your voluntary service and any of you who don't you can always come back here we have connections to help further down your road of life. As she said this she took out a letter and a box from her bosom passing the letter to Gilbert "these were left for you by your dad, even though he left instructions for them I saw it prudent to ensure I know what he has left as such I am giving you this letter now, when you have made it further into your military career that is when I shall give you the present he left as well" With this word she passed on to him the letter left by Gilbert's dad. Accepting the letter he was left in shock because other than a few faded memories this was the first thing he had ever gotten which he knows comes directly from his dad.
"Okay off you all go, we can't afford for you to be late. literally" said Margery
"Bye-bye!" "Bye Kean" and "Don't come back Gilbert" came a cacophony of voices as children stuck their heads out the windows to wave goodbye. As Gilbert waved to them and looked at his Family tearing up he and his 3 friends made their out of the yard before going into the the rear of a military vehicle with Daniel. As the vehicle drove out of Drum Tower City they unexpectedly felt a feeling of weightlessness. As they moved in silence it was finally broken by one of the drivers of the vehicle wearing an identical mechanical suit as Daniel.
"What is it Daniel not going to introduce us to the buddies from your hometown or are all of them mute?" He asked
"Shut up Alex." Said Daniel who by this point had already put back his helmet "These kids are basically family they grew up in the same orphanage as me Gilbert who is my actual cousin is the dark-skinned one, Anastasia the only girl is not only brilliant but as a future mechanic, Kean the skinny one with blond hair, and Adam the one with the dark hair are both aspiring to be marine knights." He said pivoting towards the kids he introduced the other two marines in the vehicle with him "These two are Alex Johnson the best close-quarters combatant in our unit and Roland Wade our unit's field mechanic and medic."
"Marin knights and mechanics your small hometown sure is talented but they are going to require more than just words," said Roland the other marine knight sitting in the co-pilot seat.
"Shut up Mark. What is it Gilbert you getting scared already you are usually more talkative?" Asked Daniel
"That's not it." Replied Gilbert
"What then?" He asked
"Well even though I desire to become a marine knight I actually know nothing about them other than the armors you all wear." He said.
"Well, I guess I can tell you a little bit about the military, the rest you shall learn at the military academy." He said. As he said this the others also perked up their ears to listen
" As you know the military's main adversaries are the beast of Stygian. Hence the creation of our power armor. The military is split into two branches the Marine Knights and the Dread Marines. The marine knights are split into 5 legions Dragon Legion, Fairy Legion, Panther Legion, Iron Wall Legion, and the Asura Legion each responsible for one territory of the world except for the Panther Legion which is responsible for the Asian region and the Oceania region. For the most part, we marine knights are split into squires, knights, high knights, great knights, and grand knights. Though it has less to do with how powerful we are and more of how long you have been in the military."
"That's so cool. What legion are you in? What kind of Knight are you?" Asked Kean rapidly
"Ha I'm nothing unique, our entire continent of South America including the Caribbean is the jurisdiction of the Dragon Legion. As for my knight rank, I'm a Great Knight, just give me a little more time and I'll become a dread marine." Said Daniel
"Wow, that means you're strong cousin but what is dread marine and how come I've never heard of them?" Asked Gilbert, surprised at the amount of reverence his cousin was showing toward dread marines a branch of the military before this ride he didn't even know existed.
"You don't want to know they exist." Said Roland with the same amount of reverence.
"Why not? What makes them special?" Asked Adam
"If you know they exist from a city where you are from that could only mean you've encountered a disaster at least." Said Roland
Beep beep suddenly the lights in the cabin got red a synthetic voice came in
