Sorry everyone for the all commotion that just occurred." Archmage Rayan addressed the people after everyone has settled down and the protection shield has been removed.
"And thanks to King Levi for his timely intervention. Those people that tried to pull that stunt on the Azuran tower will never be seeing the light of the day again." Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
That was the first time they've witness anyone have the audacity to dared to act rashly during the yearly auction. But they're happy the trouble is finally over and they can get over the auction quickly. Many were already looking forward to the upcoming banquet.
"Let's all relax while we bring forth the last item and then we can all go to the dinner banquet that's already been prepared for us at the royal palace" Archmage Rayan continued.
"But the last thing on this auction isn't really an item. it's a person or rather a slave." Rayan announced with a loud voice.
Everyone was surprised. They immediately start whispering and murmuring among themselves. Some nobles and Royals immediately lost interest. What use do they have for a slave when they have a lot of them at home? and besides that, what's a slave even doing at this kind of auction.
Levi was also paying attention. When he had asked his teacher to place the bait, he had also asked whether there was any kind of Magic stone among the items that would be auctioned but Rayan had said no.
Levi had been disappointed that it was a false alarm but Rayan had told him something interesting about a slave that was on the list. He had said it was a girl that could cry tears of diamond. Levi has dismissed the conversation and concluded maybe it was a Finfolk slave since they're the only ones capable of doing that, anyway. But now that the girl was going to be presented, he became really curious.
Why would a Finfolk be here as a slave to be sold off at the auction when they don't even interact much with the Dragons? His interest was piqued.
King Drake who has been eagerly waiting for the auction to end so that he could go to the banquet to introduce his daughter to Levi was dissatisfied when he heard the announcement. "This isn't a slave market, Archmage Rayan. why bring a slave in here?"
" Yes, Archmage Rayan, what is a slave doing here? This is a royal auction" another noble voiced out his opinion while the others murmur along with him.
Archmage Rayan noticed their dissatisfaction, so he rings the bell to grab their attention. "Calm down everyone. I'll like you to listen to me first before you decide whether or not you want to bid on this slave".
He waved his hand and a cage was brought forward by two servants. Inside the cage was a girl huddled at the conner with shackles on her hands and feets. She was wearing a long white gown reaching to her knees. It seems her sellers had tried their best to make her look a little bit presentable so she could fetch a good price. But anybody with eyes could see that the girl has suffered alot. For she was too thin and bruised. You could see scare marks on her wrists and legs which hasn't fully healed yet, indicating she must have been through some horrible torture before. Her eyelids were puffy and red which clearly shows she has done a lot of crying, recently.
And when she finally lifted up her head to look at the crowd...
Levi eyes widen momentarily in recognition.
Her blue eyes were icy cold and tinged with a bit of red at the rim. Her black hair was full and wavey, it flows freely around her, all the way down to her waist. And If she doesn't have that scar on her face, she'll be the most extremely beautiful girl Levi had ever seen. But one thing was sure, the girl is definitely not a Finfolk.
Levi was astounded. This girl, how could she look so familiar. He felt as if he had seen her somewhere before. But where was it? Levi raked his brain but couldn't come up with anything.
Lilura looked around her slowly with dead blue eyes. There is not a hint of fear on her face, even though she was facing a room full of powerful people, she was completely calm.
That's...unusual. Levi thought. She should be afraid but she isn't. Her demeanor, she looks almost no...
"This slave is a very special. When she cries, her tears solidifys into diamonds." Rayan explained cutting Levi's line of thoughts.
" Is she a mermaid?" one noble asked in confusion. They're unable to believe that an ordinary girl could really do that.
" No. it has been confirmed that she isn't a mermaid nor is she a Dragon. What she is, is still a Mistery but it's a fact that she can cry tears of diamond" Rayan replied. He was also confused as well and try out the theory which is why he had accepted to add her to the list of items that would be auctioned off. Somebody might be interested in her.
Noir was alerted when he saw her face. she looked just like her but the hair is different. What's going on? He was confused. He looked at Levi, he saw he had his brows furrowed in confusion with a mix of curiosity then his demeanor retuned to normal.
It couldn't possibly be her. The last time he saw her, her hair was light blue not black and she was very young, he could be mistaken. But those eyes, they looks too much like hers. He'll have to investigate this properly before making any rash decisions.
"The starting price is seventy thousand gold coins, you can start bidding with an increase of five thousand on every bid." Rayan announced.
Silence. Nobody talked.
"How can we know it's the truth. why don't you let her cry for us first. we can't just put money on something we're not even sure of" One of the nobles demanded. Everybody immediately supported.
Levi felt his heart squeezed a little at the notion. That was strange. He couldn't possibly be feeling pity towards her, could he? He doesn't even know her.
"Of course...I can ask..." Archmage Rayan was beginning to say but was cut off by Levi.
"No need. I'll take her for hundred thousand gold coins" he heard himself say before he could think properly about what he was doing.
