I woke up and after preparing myself I decided to go get my paycheck before doing anything else. It was nice living by myself as I was free in managing my day without parents following my every move, but I wanted to transfer to those dorms that my dream school, Code legacy High, a school for upcoming tech geniuses. I wanted to enroll there to refine my coding skills and acquire new skills in this advanced world.
By the time I had arrived at my work place, it was already noon and the sun was blazing. I still didn't have a clue in where next would I get money from. I went up to the counter and met my replacement. A tall and built guy who was obviously older by his overgrown hair. He looked at me expecting me to order or something of the sort. Without words I went straight to the staff lounge to meet the manager but the guy then blocked the path.
"Can't you read? This is for staff only, this isn't a washroom you can just enter," he then proceeded to push me out of the way. Luckily the manager had heard the commotion and he came out of the room and stopped the interaction before things escalated further.
"I invited him, thank you," he told the young man before taking my hand and placing an envelope in my hand. "And by the way, there was a pretty girl, I think a friend of yours, wanted to meet you so I gave her you address." He whispered with a wink.
"Friend?" I contemplated as I looked at the envelope as I left the building. "Who is he talking about?" then out of the blue, the image of the girl from previous day appeared in my mind making me smile a little but then again, she had a man so it might not be her. I walked back home thinking of the options I had in getting cash, like dog walking, house sitting etc.
When I was about to open my house door, I heard a faint "excuse me," from behind me. I looked back and to my surprise the girl from yesterday was behind me, panting as if she was being chased by a dog or a wild animal.
"Sorry, can I hide here for a while," she requested as she looked around to see if she was being tailed.
"Sure, I don't see why not," I agreed and opened the door and she dashed in before she was seen by her chaser.
I escorted her to the living room before going to the kitchen and coming back with some lemonade for her to cool off.
"If I may ask, why are you running away and from who?" I enquired as I served her the beverage.
"I am running away from my bodyguard; you know the guy who I was with yesterday. I wanted to see you but the man in charge of the pub said you are laid off and he reluctantly gave me your address," she answered before taking a sip of her drink.
"Wait, you wanted to see me? Why?" I asked, honestly confused in the situation.
"Well, is it bad for me to do that. This lemonade is sweet, did you make it yourself?" she said as she took another sip.
"She wanted to see me? A girl like her…me this doesn't make any sense," I monologued ignoring the question asked.
"Well don't look at me as if am a thief come sit," she offered as she gestured a sit next to her. I accepted and went and sat next to her as she placed her cup onto my coffee table and turned to look at me. I looked at her quizzically before she started advancing closer to me even when I moved further until I met the end of the couch. Our faces got closer and closer until I could hear her heart beat. Her eyes were fixed to mine as if she had spotted something out of the ordinary.
"Do you know who I am?" she asked as her eyes bounced from my left eye to right. I shook my head. My eyes decided to tour her body from her golden yellow short hair, ruby eyes, cherry red lips, her white crop top, and black booty short. She seemed like she came out the dreams of men.
"that's alright, just know me as Marlena," she retracted as she then asked, "do you play arcade games?"
"Am Marx and yes I played arcade games, but I stopped when I moved here,"
"I know this place where we can play let's go,"
"Now?"
"Yea what are you waiting for?" she said as she stood up getting ready. I took my jacket and keys before we left.
