Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: New Company

'He's not even bothered by this...'

Edzel who kept glancing towards Chris was bemused by the latter. With the heavy atmosphere inside the room, even he felt somehow affected making him raise his guard up.

Frida whose venomously staring at Chris' back sighed in annoyance which broke the silence inside.

Leon and Alisson soon changed back to their previous demeanor acting as if they weren't staring daggers towards Chris.

It didn't took long before another professor entered the room with a surprised expression.

"You've got more company now, Chris!" Exclaimed Professor Teresa while clapping her hands.

Chris just nodded in acknowledgement and prepared another parchment to take note of the lesson.

Professor Teresa soon introduced herself and asked the names of the others which in turn made Chris in the know of their individual names.

Time passed fleetingly as another ring of the clock disturbed the two hours discussion of Luzonia History. Chris was able to take note a whole lot of information that can be detrimental to his future.

"By the way, I won't be seeing you guys around for quite some time as a high level mission was tasked to me so I want you to go to the library and make a study group and choose a part of History that you'd like to cover and tackle."

With that, Professor Teresa walked out of the room with a smile plastered on her face.

Frida and Leon stood up and walked out of the room while bickering non stop. Alisson soon followed their step as she stood up and gave a nod towards Edzel and Chris then stormed out.

Chris soon tidied up his things by casually throwing them inside his port card. He then looked towards Edzel with indifference and opened his mouth.

"You've been eyeing me for quite some time now. I don't swing that way, just to let you know."

With that, he stormed out of the lecture hall thining of what could be the best way to save up his points.

"Hah!" Edzel scoffed as he watched the latter walked out.

"Hey, wait up!" He soon ran after Chris who did not bother to stop but walked faster instead.

Chris entered the dining hall and behind him is the heavily panting acquaintance he just made. Edzel gave him dagger looks at the back but as per his usual, he just ignored the insistent boy.

"Hey, lend me some points."

"No."

"Dude, I'm running out of points! Just a hundred will do!"

"No."

Chris in the back of his mind wanted to smack the latter who unceremoniously tried to borrow a hundred contribution points.

'That's the most money I have spent within 8 days...'

Edzel on the other hand felt awkward as he insisted on borrowing money. In truth, he still have enough money that can last him for a month.

This fact is also obvious to Chris and the main reason why he will not give any ounce of pity towards the insisting fellow.

Chris patiently waited his turn as a line was formed in the counter. It didn't took long before his turn and the sales manager gave him a flat look.

"It's you..." He sighed in surrender which Edzel found interesting.

"A hard wheat bread and half kilo of mutton. I will also claim my remaining ingredients and will use the back kitchen." Chris paid a measly five points which gave the sales manager a pang in his chest.

"Just go to the back! I'll instruct someone to bring you the materials." He then looked towards Edzel and smiled at the latter.

"I'll go with him and also, a focaccia sandwich with garlic oil drizzle. Pair it with meatballs with marinara sauce and lots of fresh mozzarella cheese."

"Excellent choice! That's going to be... 45 contribution points." Edzel looked smug as he paid for his bill which Chris ignored as usual.

Chris casually strolled inside the kitchen and walked towards the backdoor leading to the back kitchen. The chefs even gave him an annoyed look as if they saw their most hateful enemy.

Edzel found this new experience quite interesting as he took note of this way to save up points.

'Cooking your own food is indeed cost effective and will yield more quantity.'

It didn't took long before the smell of creamy mushroom soup with mutton pervaded the kitchen. Edzel busily munching his 'fancy sandwich' found the smell quite alluring.

Chris who just finished cooking scooped up a ladle full of the soup. He paired it with the toasted hard wheat bread which he dipped in the thick creamy soup before taking a bite.

"Hey, give me some!" Edzel back with his insistent personality, looked at the bowl of creamy soup

"20 points."

"I have a sandwich."

He immediately shut his mouth and gave Chris a dagger look and diverting it at the soup and looked at it longingly.

After their meal, Chris kept his leftover soup which will be his dinner for later. In the end, he still gave Edzel a bowlful and in turn, the latter washed the dishes that they used.

"So... What do you think about the others?" Edzel asked while drying his hands with a towel.

"Troublesome." Chris commented and glanced at his company. "Just like you."

This made Edzel laugh loudly and touch his stomach. Chris just watched him in his peripheral not saying anything.

Chris has already made a ranking in his mind in terms of being troublesome. Unexpectedly, the highest turns out to be the petite monocled girl who feigns as a timid individual.

"Seriously, I thought I'll be the first one to notice the discrepancy in this place. Turns out that you're already first to the race and I even got competition from those three."

Edzel shook his head dejectedly as if disappointed. This act though was easily seen through by Chris specially that the other party seems to hint something.

"Quit acting, those three are way too dense for them to realize things so easily... Specially that duo."

"Hahaha! I can't seem to hide anything from you, huh?"

"Tch! Such third rate villain complex."

They walked out of the dining hall with Edzel talking nonstop about his observation. Chris of course knows some facts spouted by the latter and he even gained new information that can be added in his notes.

Turns out that the vast place they are currently situated actually has a limit. Chris listened to every details that Edzel gave him and even provided other information himself.

With their joint information, they were able to gather enough details that might be useful in the future.

What they didn't realize though is that in the near future, every information they gathered regarding this realm will be very useful in their survival.
