Chapter 80 - Chapter Eighty

~Loyal Servant~

King Lansel was heading to the guest house with Marius and Severus.

"Your Serene Highness, I don't think it's a good idea to see him" this is the third time Severus complained but king Lansel paid a deaf ear. When they reached the entrance, that is when Lansel turned to Severus.

"If you ever question me about my opinion, you will be serving someone else" Lansel glared daggers at him while Severus bowed in apology. Lansel huffed and entered with Marius trailing behind him.

Duncan Styrix, King Theron Styrix's younger brother was standing near the fireplace. He was now dressed like one of the nobles of the kingdom. He turned to the door when he heard footsteps approaching.

"Why are you here?" His voice was cold and low.

"Why are you back?" King Lansel asked instead, his hands were behind his back as he strode towards him, his robe sweeping the floor.

"You left 17 years ago, when you're daughter Icelyn was three years old. That was when my father was crowned as the Moon Supreme. And now, you returned when I'm crowned. Why was that? Lansel asked again, going around the room.

"It was greed. Your father deserve the throne but I wanted it too. I left because I cannot face the torture. I can't grovel at someone else's feet. I might kill him and take the throne" Duncan replied. Lansel paused and turned to him.

"The throne will never be yours. Not when my father has two male kids. I advice you to stay humble and noble"

"Why don't you kill me? Don't you think I might hurt someone from the royal family?" Duncan suddenly asked. Lansel smirked and strode towards him.

"I thought so. But I still consider you as my Uncle. You cannot by disowned as a Styrix. If you stay humble, I respect your. If you don't..." Lansel trailed off and patted his shoulder.

"Get ready to join the Moon of the Dead" he whispered in his ear as a dark glint flashed by his sea green eyes. Lansel turned and left but was stopped by Duncan's voice.

"My king"

Lansel thought he didn't hear him correctly but when he turned, Duncan was on his knees, his head was bowed as a sign of submitting his life to him.

"My King, take me as your loyal servant. I shall serve you till my time ends"

Marius and Severus exchanged looks and nodded triumphantly while Lansel smirked satisfactorily.

"I will let you meet your family. Make it up to them for leaving for 17 years"

Queen Niamh Sullivan spent the rest of the day mastering her powers and reading spell books. She even skipped lunch just because she's so engrossed with her stuffs. Even at night, she skipped supper. She was in her bed chamber reading and practicing at the same time. There are lots of books piled up on the bed that will get others thinking just how many books she's reading at a time.

She dropped the book she was reading and picked up another one, a particular place caught her eyes.

"The Red Sword" she read the title. She suddenly became interested and continued.

"Demons don't die because no one discovered what can kill them. The ancient sword known as 'The Red Sword' is the devil's weakness. Once being stabbed to their spine, the turn into ashes, like dark clouds evaporate into nothingness. Somehow, the demons found out and his the Red Sword after the battle 200 years ago. No one knows where the Red Sword is" Niamh suddenly became eager to read more but unfortunately, that's all about the Red Sword. She need to find it and kill all those demons.

When she was lost in her own reverie, Lansel walked in and was shocked to see just how many books Neev is reading at a time. Like she was gone, completely out of this word until Lansel cleared his throat.

Niamh looked up blinking innocently as Lansel stared at her like she committed a deadly crime
