Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: Bright Light vs Blackboard 1

A week later, Noah learned of a new mine of rainbow stones.

Wasting no time, he went straight to the site before ransacking it completely.

He left a new clone to refine the stones into drops of blood essence before continuing to work on his own.

During the time Nexus was using all his power to run the simulations, Noah was busy studying some of the Mechs blueprints recorded in the database.

Noah waved his hand and a three-dimensional hologram of a Mech arm appeared on the table.

Disassembling it into its various pieces, he removed the inner skeleton, leaving only the exoskeleton and protective armor before beginning to alter them to his liking.

...

Clint carefully scraped the green moss from the sewer pipes and placed it on a small plate he held in his hands.

"There will be more ingredients for tonight's dinner."

During these few days in the sewers, Clint had encountered multiple instances of subway pursuit.

These were not by pilots on the surface, but by mutated rodents that lived deep in the sewer and appeared in large groups every few hours.

These rodents with glowing red eyes could gnaw on any object.

To conserve the Mech's energy, Clint dared not misuse the Mech. It was a rigged Mech in the first place.

The energy furnace was an old model and much of its energy had been depleted. Most of what was left of the energy had been used for Red Moon's recovery, while the rest was reserved for opening the hatch door.

Thinking about this, Clint sighed. He pushed the moss aside and touched his stomach, which still ached a little to the touch. He looked at the time, turned around and went back to his hiding place.

"Ten minutes until the rodent group shows up. Should be plenty of time."

After walking a ways, he quickly made his way to a narrow crevice that was in a small space between the pipes.

Clint entered and saw Baylon roasting a dried rodent. They had both been living like this for the past few days. They only had this left to eat because they had finished their dry food supplies. Fortunately, Baylon's Shining King training method could eradicate most diseases and infections or else eating this unhygienic stuff would cost them both their lives.

"How are you, how's the situation outside?"

Baylon looked at her with wide eyes. He had now completely transfigured into a woman, or put another way, he had been a woman all along. It's just that the training method helped shed the layer of epidermis.

Sitting on her knees by the fire, Baylon's face was red and she looked quite tired.

"Fortunately, no one seems to be coming for us." nodded Clint and smiled helplessly.

"Maybe this is part of the radiation zone, so they don't dare chase us? Their bodies could get radiation sickness after staying in a radioactive zone for a long period of time."

"Yes..." Baylon nodded and raised his arms. Gray spots appeared on them, as if the skin had been wrinkled.

"I heard that it's difficult to treat radiation sickness..." his eyes darkened, "once a person has radiation sickness, there's no way to live in those regions anymore..."

"Don't worry, there has to be a way when Lord Red Moon wakes up!"

Clint was always full of hope and confidence, although he himself did not know where this confidence came from.

"Yes... Lord Red Moon is very powerful. I'm sure there's a way to solve it." Baylon relaxed a little.

They had always considered Red Moon to be capable. Even though he had a foul mouth, he could always think of a way to solve any issue. Compared to that, radiation sickness didn't seem like a big deal.

The two of them worked together quietly to clean the moss with filtered water. Then, they prepared a soup with the dried rodent meat and the moss. This food had been their main sustenance.

After boiling for a while, a thunderous roar echoed from outside the passageway. It sounded as if it came from far away.

The expression on Clint and Baylon's faces changed. They quickly got up and blocked the only access to that small, narrow space using a piece of the robot's broken alloy plate. The alloy plate fit perfectly to hide that spot. Clint rested both hands against the alloy plate for fear of being knocked off.

Baylon, on the other hand, quickly extinguished the fire, leaving only a little fire-starting material and covered the soup before spreading the clothes on top of it.

Shortly thereafter, several thudding noises could be heard outside the alloy plate, as if there were numerous small things banging against the alloy plate nonstop. Clint had broken into a sweat and was exerting a great deal of effort. With his level one nine mega cannon level one training method, his strength was several times that of ordinary people and yet he still felt remarkably tense.

One could only imagine how great the impact that came from outside was.

After an indeterminate amount of time had elapsed, the ramming noises began to weaken. The blue veins on his forehead began to diminish and he began to sweat profusely.

"Hoo... hoo... hoo... hoo..." a sound of snorting and panting as intense as a racehorse could be heard.

"Come, drink some water..." as there were no cups, Baylon filled the jagged end of a small piece of alloy plate with water and pulled it close.

"Thank you." Clint took it and drank it in one gulp.

"Did you hear something?" suddenly Baylon asked cautiously.

"What, what did you hear?" Clint was flabbergasted.

"I think...I think I heard the sound of someone yelling outside..." replied Baylon uncertainly.

"There's someone?!" Clint stood up, his eyes full of concern.

They both lightened their breathing and Clint could hear it too.

"Carl! Carl, where are you?"

"Captain Carl!" "Big Brother Carl!"

It didn't sound like one person but a group of people looking for someone named Carl.

Clint carefully removed the alloy plate and peeked his head out. He saw that at the end of the hallway where the group of rodents had wreaked havoc, there was a group of people approaching with flaming torches. The most surprising thing was that these people were not wearing radiation suits in that radiation zone.

There were men and women, and all of them were more or less wearing nail plates made of metal on their bodies.

In the group of more than a dozen people, many of them were wearing torn clothing and some of their faces had radiation scars that could not be covered.

"So many people with radiation..." Clint knew instantly that these were normal people with radiation sickness, just like them.

Suddenly, he didn't know what to do. In the absence of Red Moon, their safety was in their own hands. They would be lucky if they were a group of good-hearted people.

But if they had bad intentions... then he and Lon....

"Who's there?" the leader of the group, a woman in a red shirt, suddenly shouted and looked in their direction.

Clint jumped in shock and fell to the ground, making a louder noise.

This group of people quickly approached. Baylon quickly helped Clint up. They both huddled together and looked at the access point. Soon, a burly, muscular man cautiously entered. He was a bit taken aback when he saw Clint and Baylon.

"Boss, they're two kids!" he shouted out loud.

"Are you kidding, how can little kids survive in this place?" The woman in the red shirt walked in and was also surprised when she saw Clint and Baylon. "Guys... This is the dark sewer maze of the region, with radioactive poison and mutant rodents everywhere. You guys, actually..."

"Hello... Hello..." Clint forced a smile and greeted them.

...

A month later, as Garen was leaving his daily training, he suddenly got a call.

"Nono, this is the latest news.

The Great Light Mech of the White Light Organization has declared war against the Blackboard Academy in East Destiny City.

They have announced that they will take over East Fate City and have dispatched dozens of Bright Mechs. They are all Level Five pilots, how impressive! Moreover, the capabilities displayed by those Great Mechs of Light surpass half of the Level Five pilots! They have defeated dozens of Black Clad Generals!"

"Doesn't that mean this is an act of war?" Garen was shocked.

"I'm afraid it does. An instructor from the academy has set out with a team. He's an instructor from Inheriting, Thomas Andrew from Genre Red Whale. This is the first time an Inheriting pilot has been sent. I'm already prepared to go and watch the battle. Are you going or not?" Celine spoke quickly.

"If you're coming, then come to the Yellow Rose area, lift platform number four."

"I'm coming!"

Garen answered quickly.

When he ended the call, there was a trace of complicated emotions in his eyes.

"White Light dared to declare war against the entire Blackboard region. With this kind of ability, surely there won't be a single Great Light Mech!"

A level 6, Inheritor level battle.... Regardless, this was the top level battle force of this world. He had to go and see for himself. This was a one in a million chance!

On the other hand. Noah, who was immersed in his work, suddenly heard the sound of an alarm coming from the watch in his hand.

"Oh... Is it time already?"

Saving the data from the new blueprint he was working on, he walked out of his lab.

East Fate City.

Whistle!!!

A bolt of blue lightning descended from the sky and slammed into a skyscraper. The blue beam instantly destroyed the central structural layer of the skyscraper and tore through it.

With a thud, the entire building collapsed into a pile of rubble.

"Warning! Warning! All citizens of East Fate, please hide immediately and flee the city. All citizens of East Fate, please hide immediately and flee the city to avoid injury." insensitive announcements came and went, replaying from a huge blue-black battleship hovering over the city.

These battleships looked like beetles enlarged many times and with pointed nozzles from which blue lights were emanating.

Dozens of large battleships hovered over East Fate City and moved slowly, constantly scanning and capturing the ruins of the empty city below.

The residents of East Fate City who could hide had already hidden and those who could run had already fled, leaving an empty city.

The dead and casualties were no longer accurately counted. Perhaps they had passed ten thousand, twenty thousand or even a million.

But because of the intense battle raging in the sky, no one noticed how the dead bodies were strangely decomposing before their remains were sucked to the ground.

In a huge beetle-shaped battleship, Garen and Celine stood together behind a group of commanders. Like many of the other young men from large companies and large families watching the battle, they made no sound. They listened silently to the big boss and the commanders conversing at the front.

Standing in front of the crowd were three high-ranking pilots wearing a military uniform of general rank. An intense level five willpower field emanated from them without any restraint.

They were the supreme commanders and the tactical logistics team who were here this time to deal with the Great White Light Mech.

"If the real Great Mech of Light appears in area A, His Highness the Red Whale might not make it in time. We will have to resist the other group for at least ten minutes or more and hold down regardless of casualties. That's an outcome we can't afford."

"But the other side is in the dark and we are in the light. The key to campaign battles is in intelligence. They don't know in which areas our main deployments are. We don't know what area their raids are hiding in either," the other man frowned.

"All representatives of the major families here can raise any suggestions they have. If it is really valuable, our military department and the academy will bestow great rewards," a major general with long eyebrows averted his gaze and looked in the direction of where the wealthy young men were whispering to each other.

The reason these people were called here was to harness the power of the various households. Perhaps in these households there were many unexpected channels that could come into play.

"I believe our Bane family can contribute to the defense alert in the twelve areas of East Fate City," said a chubby young man raising his hand.

"A new type of jamming device developed by our family can locate the enemy's specific position in jamming mode, which is equivalent to the enhanced bat combat system. We are willing to contribute a hundred free games."

"The Bane family, right, thank you for your support! How are the specific settings and movement conditions of this type of jammer...?"

"The specific parameters are as follows..."

The two began to carefully discuss the design plan.

The rest of the crowd was still whispering among themselves.
