Garen and Celine were standing at the back of the battleship, where they had deliberately walked to.
"Where's your mech?" whispered Celine.
"In the battleship's mech depot, why?" asked Garen.
"Take note, now we are really entering the battle zone. My Mech is a high quality product brought out of the house. I can jump in and leave at any time during crucial moments. Yours is just a run-of-the-mill product. If there's any trouble, you'll be in trouble." whispered Celine.
"I know." nodded Garen.
"But the benefits and risks coexist, don't they? Being able to see an Inherited level battle is not an easy thing. The last record of Inherited level battle was a few decades ago. It was even classified as the highest level of confidentiality. We have no way to access it. Now that this opportunity exists, it would be a waste if we don't take advantage of it."
"If we can find the key to the Inherited Level, it will be very useful for our advancement in the future."
Minutes and seconds passed. Garen and Celine were conversing quietly. Like everyone else, the two seemed to go unnoticed in a group of rich young people wearing fancy clothes.
After a while, a Shining Mech figure finally appeared.
Suddenly, a Shining Mech jumped up and appeared in front of the battleship, wielding a dagger as it lunged towards them in an attempt to pierce their thick armor.
"Kill it!"
The commander waved his hand and several Blackboard Mechs flew up to meet him.
They were all black-clad generals. They stood in a group in front of the Shining Mech.
The second group of Blackboard Mechs flew out next. As they were about to lay siege to the other side, they encountered another Shining Mech.
Under the gloomy clouds, the Mechs could only be seen as an intertwining of red and white firepower in the air.
Suddenly, a beetle-shaped battleship exploded some distance away. Huge red flames spread across the sky, engulfing an area of hundreds of meters in the city below.
Two black and white humanoid mechs flew out of the fireball. One of the mechs was black with gaudy red eyes and two huge red scythes in its hands.
The other Mech was completely white and in both hands held a giant machete that glowed brightly. It was chasing and attacking the black Mech.
"It's the Red-Eyed Master Medero!!!" shouted someone who recognized the black Mech in the battleship.
"Go and call for reinforcements!", someone shouted.
"No! That's the strongest No. 5 Shining Mech under the Great Light Mech. I've seen the records before. None of us can be its opponent! Not even Master Medero could resist. We'll only die if we get out!" someone objected.
"Yes, and they are too close to each other and are locked in hand-to-hand combat. If we can't keep up with them, we'll be doing them a disservice!"
A group of people quickly came to a conclusion. The three commanders said nothing and were calm and firm as if they already had a plan for this situation. However, some people were already feeling a bit scared. A similar scarab battleship had been blown up, indicating that their side was not guaranteed to be safe.
"With the presence of Master Red Whale there will be no problem!" said someone confidently. This statement calmed the worried crowd somewhat. After all, this ship was different from other ships. This ship carried important figures and the defense force was also more than three times stronger.
Medero dragged the Mech Brilliant No.5 and left the area quickly, heading towards other areas. Soon, they were out of sight.
On this side, the victor and loser of the battle between the Shining Mechs and the battleship's Blackboard Mechs had also appeared. One Shining Mech had exploded while the other had fled.
Pewwww!
A deafening, harsh noise came from above.
The entire observation window of the battleship immediately turned red. It was blinding and the sight of more than a dozen people was affected in an instant. They screamed as tears flowed from their narrowed eyes.
The battleship shook violently and returned to its calm state.
"It's Master Red Whale's glowing eyes!" a commander shouted, "Don't worry, Master Red Whale has made his move. I believe it will soon be a success!"
Pooh-pooh!
Suddenly a shrill cry was heard again. The floor-to-ceiling window was tinged red once again.
Garen did not close his eyes, but stared at the huge red light. Such a glow meant nothing to him.
But from the screams of those two voices, he had a bad feeling.
As everyone closed their eyes to avoid the red light, he grabbed Celine's hand and quickly backed away, running toward the Mech depot. Their footsteps were silent and no one noticed as they entered another hallway.
"What are you doing!" Celine brushed her hand off and asked loudly.
"I'm afraid there's a bit of danger." explained Garen as he walked.
He quickly reached the Mechs depot and pulled out his special permit. He swiped it in front of the guard and got the permit.
After the electronic door opened automatically, he lured Celine inside.
"Find your Mech right away. We may have to flee here quickly."
"What do you mean, how could that be possible?" said Celine in disbelief.
"Actually, we have a troop of thirty-two black-clad generals escorting our battleship - there's no way there could be trouble!"
"Of course, it's unlikely that anything will happen now. But what if Her Highness the Red Whale is defeated?" said Garen plainly.
"That... shouldn't be possible!" Celine looked a little slow.
"There's nothing impossible! I'm not here just to take a walk around the city and then come back. Wouldn't you like to see an inherited level battle up close? The battle should be happening over our heads right now."
"You're crazy!" Celine's eyes widened.
"The two of us Level Three and Level Four brats are coming over to watch a life and death battle between Level Six Inherited Levels?"
"I'm not crazy. If you want to go, get in your Mech!"
Garen went straight to the front of his Mech and climbed onto the elevator platform.
Celine gritted her teeth and said nothing more. She ran quickly to the elevator platform.
"Double Sword Captain, will you proceed with armor loading?" the battleship's mainframe asked.
"Of course." Garen sat upright, his eyes bright with excitement.
"Double Edge No. 1, ready to go."
"Full combat readiness system default."
"Ejection device ready!"
"Activate!"
The giant Mech body peeled off and launched through the opening in the spiral path above.
Just a split second later, Celine's Mech also flew out.
At that moment, there were also a large number of different types of black and white Mechs flying into the sky next to them.
The entire airspace of East Destiny City was filled with numerous Mechs.
Several kilometers up, two Mechs, one red and one white, were engaged in a high-speed battle.
"This is an Inherited level battle? It doesn't seem any different from our kind of fight."
"The difference is huge." muttered Garen.
"This... This is..." Celine concentrated even more and not only did she see with her own eyes that something was wrong, the detection equipment attached to her Mech also emitted a warning signal.
"Every time they collide, they have an average power equivalent to fifteen level five pilots! Isn't this too much of an exaggeration!!!"
"This is Mech Resonance.
They are resonating with their own Mechs and have reached a very high level. At level six, the Mechs themselves are already equivalent to a living organism. They also have a potential explosion mechanism similar to that of a human body. It is the Resonance that can take what burst out of this kind of potential..."
"Watch out!" Garen suddenly pulled out Celine's Mech and retreated in a hurry.
Whoo!!!
Suddenly, horrible red lights flashed in the sky.
The Red Whale and the Great Light Mech simultaneously went into action.
Countless chain shadows suddenly appeared behind the Red Whale, darting and spinning towards the other side.
"Red Whale Attack!"
An old, gravelly man's voice echoed in the sky.
"Old man! Your move is outdated!" said a man's angry voice from the Great Mech of Light.
"Pool of radiance!"
The Great Mech of Light suddenly erupted. Large amounts of white liquid light dripped down the Mech's legs and floated into the air, forming a white oval pool.
The red chains came in contact with the pool of white light and everything was submerged in red and white light. Nothing could be seen.
Amidst the silence, a huge tornado formed by the turbulent flow of red and white energy was slowly taking shape.
Garen pulled Celine again and hurried back a few kilometers. Only then were they released from the pull of the hurricane.
Some of the Mechs watching the battle were a step slower. Several Mechs with level four and level five force fields were pulled into it and instantly shattered. Seeing this chilled the hearts of the others and they flew away once again to stay safe.
The red and white tornado was in the center of East Destiny City. It was spinning slowly and sucking in everything it could absorb around it. Looking at it from afar, Garen's sight could barely make out the silhouettes of the two Mechs.
"This kind of power...!" Although Celine's main family also had an inherited level pilot, their status had yet to reach such a high level. This was also the first time she had seen a battle between inherited level pilots.
"I'm finally understanding a little bit why pilots are the strongest players in the universe." Celine licked her dry lips as her eyes filled with irrepressible amazement.
Garen also felt the same.
Although the density of this level of destructive power was not too high, the scope of this destruction?
And this was only the ability of Level Six. According to the training method Red Moon had given him, after that, there was still Level Seven and Level Eight... maybe even Level Nine....
