Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Persecution 1

Several days later, while Garen was on his way to his new mission, he received a call from Celine, one of his closest friends within the academy.

"Nono, guess what I found?"

Garen's instinct told him something wasn't right.

"What happened? Don't tell me you've made another great discovery?

"It's more than a great discovery!" said Celine.

"I went looking for one of my friends in the Academy's higher level intelligence departments because of the situation with your little brother. Later, I ended up discovering a shocking secret about him!"

"Tell me about it!" according to Celine's experience, everything was a shocking secret to her. No one could imagine how shocking this secret really was.

Garen calmed his own breathing quickly and listened intently to the voice on the other end of his terminal.

"You've heard of the Forbidden Mech?" Celine's first sentence made Garen's heart tremble.

"According to legend, it is a mythical Mech and a strategic warfare weapon that can destroy planets. It is the most powerful and ultimate existence in the entire universe!" said Celine immediately without waiting for Garen's reply.

"So how does it relate to the secret you discovered?"

"Three hundred years ago, the Forbidden Mech was defeated in a crossfire, which caused it to collapse into many fragments that were scattered across several planets. They were known as Forbidden Parts.

Our Mother Planet obtained some of these fragments." explained Celine quietly.

"Do you know why Blackboard Academy sent groups of Black Dressed Generals and Elite Students on such a large scale before? To find these Forbidden fragments!

Also, the information I obtained indicated that the large explosion in the river outside the city recently was most likely caused by the central component of the Forbidden Mech: the Forbidden Knowledge Core!"

"Knowledge Core?!" Garen was startled.

His emotions stirred unconsciously.

"Are you sure the Forbidden Knowledge Core is still intact?"

"The members of the White Light Organization have mobilized in large numbers because of this.

They are currently clashing with the Academy's professionals and neither side is giving the other any leeway," Celine said hurriedly.

"I got accurate information. That Knowledge Core can invoke a temporary projection of the Forbidden Mech that will release its Forbidden Abilities for a short period of time. It can't do this without an intact core!"

Garen was silent. This information was somewhat serious and he needed to digest it properly for a while. This situation was similar to a normal person suddenly encountering a fortunate coincidence.

Now that a good weapon had apparently appeared somewhere nearby, he could obtain tremendous powers if he could successfully obtain it.

The Forbidden Knowledge Core was similar in that sense.

Garen was in dire need of a Training Method.

Strong and advanced Training Methods were generally considered to have reached their peak once they had reached Level Five. If they went beyond that, they would have entered the territory of the Inherited Mech, which had its own strengths and weaknesses. Meanwhile, the Forbidden Mech was considered the pinnacle of the Star Levels and was a first-class existence even compared to the Inherited Mech.

A knowledge core like this would definitely have many exceptionally powerful training methods and various scientific information recorded within its data bank.

If an idiot obtained those things, particularly the training methods, he could change his life and become extremely successful. He could even attempt to dominate the region.

"People in the upper echelons of the Academy are also involved in this. It's an extremely rare opportunity!" said Celine tantalizingly.

"We are too weak. We won't gain any benefits if we join them now." said Garen calmly as he returned to his usual line of thought.

Although his heart was fluttering, he knew he needed to assess his own strength accordingly before moving forward.

"That may be true, but we are still students of the Academy.

If we can help the Academy obtain the Core....

From what I've heard, the White and Red Mech they're looking for came from one of the terrorists of the White Light Terrorist Organization.

He has not retreated despite his serious injuries and they have been chasing him constantly. He most likely possesses the Forbidden Core." said Celine quickly.

"If we can help the Academy obtain the Core, the reward won't be too bad, don't you think?"

Garen's face was expressionless, but his mind had already begun to churn.

"I will begin my patrol duty tomorrow."

"I'll keep you constantly informed of the latest developments then."

"All right."

"That will be all."

Garen disconnected the line as his gaze deepened.

A few days later.

"Beep!"

"All downloaded data archiving is complete."

Noah, who was sitting reading a book, suddenly heard Nexus' voice.

Putting the book down on the table, he walked over to the supercomputer and started browsing through the various folders full of files, giving them a quick glance.

There was all kinds of data.

Training techniques, Mech construction plans, mineral information and a lot of data on willpower.

Seeing that there was a complete database, Noah nodded with satisfaction before inserting a memory crystal with all the information he had gathered on sorcerer physiology.

Unlike when he entered the information from the previous crystal, the download process this time only took a few seconds, showing the immense amount of information Red Moon had collected over the centuries.

Smirking, Noah shoved a random sorcerer he pulled out of his magic gourd into a scanning booth and let Nexus scan it completely.

"Beep!"

"Gathering data on the host's internal structure."

"Beep!"

"Data collected."

"Nexus, I want you to create a method to alter the internal structure of this body so that it can generate willpower."

"Beep!"

"Mission established!"

"Extracting information from the database."

"Information extracted."

"Beginning simulations."

"Total estimated simulations: 365,737,297."

"Estimated time to finish simulations: 2 months."

Nexus began to spin and rearrange itself as if invisible hands were playing with the huge nine-meter-high Rubik's cube.

Noah wanted to use a random sorcerer's body so he could collect data from his body after undergoing the process that would create nexus so he could improve it and then recreate it in Magna and Lena.

As for him, since he merged with the golden skeleton his body fundamentally changed.

Therefore, he needed to gather more information to create a method that would suit him.

Leaving Nexus to work, Noah teleported to the outskirts of Blackboard City before heading to a specific city.

The city of Est Destiny was one of the many cities within the Blackboard region.

It was an ordinary city that normally should not have attracted Noah's attention.

While the city currently held no interest for him, the event that would unfold in the future did hold a great deal of interest for him.

Entering an inconspicuous alleyway, he ducked into the sewers before bringing out ten excavator drones.

He sent them a map of the city overlaid with a strange matrix on top directly to his database and commanded them to recreate this matrix with tunnels so that it encircled the entire city.

Leaving the drone crew to do their work, Noah returned to his lab.

Several days later.

Clint, running for his life, drove his wrecked Mech into an alley.

His goal was to enter through the manhole cover at the end of the alley but when he turned around, he suddenly froze.

A black Mech with two double swords in both hands was sitting calmly on the manhole cover.

"Give me the Forbidden Core and I'll let you live." Garen held the Dual Swords and crossed them in front of his chest calmly while emitting crisp clinking noises.

"Blink!" suddenly shouted Red Moon.

The paralyzed Mech suddenly distorted and disappeared from the scene instantly. When it appeared again, it was already more than ten meters behind Garen's Mech.

Garen remained silent and jumped back instantly. He spun around while swinging his sword outward. He had managed to catch up to Clint in a short period of time.

Explode!!!

A few moments later, a silver-gray machete pierced the air and violently stabbed the back of Clint's robot's head. The attack sent him reeling before he took a few quick steps forward suddenly. His head slammed into the side of the wall and formed a large hole in the concrete.

"What's going on?" shouted Clint. Electric sparks flashed and filled the cockpit.

The Mech had suffered serious injuries, while the sensors had been severed and damaged instantly.

"That guy... he's not your average Level Three!" said Red Moon seriously.

"So, what do we do now? Do we have to use that object?" Clint could hear the heavy footsteps echoing behind him. The White Light Organization's broken red and white Mech was catching up to him again.

"Don't panic, wait a little bit first. Things will definitely get better..." Red Moon lowered his voice. Her mind was anxious and her initial foolproof escape plan was suddenly stopped by a Blackboard Academy team captain.

Numerous fatal flaws had appeared and he needed to find a way to fix them!

"Where is the Forbidden Core?" came Garen's voice again.

"For a weakling like you, possessing treasures beyond your capabilities is a harbinger of death."

He took a step forward.

"Come, give it to me."

Clint's Mech took an involuntary step backward. One hit had completely damaged the sensors in his head. It would be completely dead after another attack.

"What do I do, what do I do, what do I do...?"

His mind was in chaos. Clint didn't know what to do at all.

Red Moon had formed a bond with him, but once he was gone, Clint would lose his own life as well. This bond was formed by a complete fusion at the genetic level of his body and was not the usual Mech contract.

"Turn left!" Red Moon's thunderous roars immediately echoed next to his ears.

Clint operated his Mech and turned left using his conditioned reflexes.

Boom!!!

A beam of pure white light shot past the side of his Mech's body. The laser beam that initially went towards his back hitting Garen, who was in front of Clint, by accident.

Soplo!

The laser beam did not hit him, but instead collided with his silver-gray longsword and formed clouds of green smoke there.

Who?!

Garen looked up and looked across the alley behind Clint.

Poof!...Poof!...Poof!....

The sound of violent, exhausted panting echoed from there. A red and white Mech stood on the other side of the white light and held a white laser pistol over two meters long in its hand. White smoke billowed faintly from the barrel.

"Gotcha... Stupid boy! Let's see where you run to this time!" the red and white robot taunted.

"The forbidden core is mine...!"

"The Red-White Mech? You've arrived at a most opportune time!" Garen crossed his dual blades and shifted his feet slightly as a fearsome, offensive aura faintly dispersed from his body. The engine at the rear of his mech accelerated slightly and spat out small blue flames.

He soared skyward and brandished his blades.

Explosion!!!

Both Mechs collided violently. The weapons in the Red-White Mech's hands instantly split into two halves as the Mech staggered back a few steps and could barely stand.

"You!"

Only then did the Red-White Mech look up at Garen's Black Mech.

"The Blackboard Academy team? You're only a level three..."

Although a mere level three would pose no threat to a level five like him under normal conditions, however now almost eighty percent of his Mech had suffered damage while he was also severely injured.

Without giving him time to think, Garen charged his enemy and they began a hard battle.
