Chapter 22 - Unrecognised Car

"Alright, as long as it doesn't affect tomorrow's work."

"Don't worry, I'll be back tonight. We have training tomorrow morning!" Ye Chen smiled.

Hearing this, Captain Li Gang's face turned green. However, since he had agreed to the training, he couldn't back out even if someone else did.

Back in the dormitory, everyone washed up and changed clothes before heading to the cafeteria for breakfast. The training had a noticeable effect—Zhao Peng actually went for seconds, which had never happened before. Even Captain Li Gang was amazed; he knew Zhao Peng better than anyone, having tried numerous methods to improve his health without success. Seeing Zhao Peng getting more food made the effort worthwhile, no matter how tiring it was.

After breakfast, Ye Chen left and headed to a parking lot 200 meters from the mall. He paid the parking fee and drove to Chongwen.

The Pearl River Garden Villa Area is located on Zhushikou East Street, north of the Temple of Heaven Park.

When Ye Chen arrived at 10:30, it wasn't because he drove slowly but because the distance was considerable, and the traffic was terrible. No matter how good the car, traffic jams were a great equalizer. Ye Chen realized this today, seeing that a car worth millions faced the same problems as one worth thousands in a traffic jam.

"Hello! Which villa are you visiting?"

"I'm the owner of Villa Nine," Ye Chen said, handing over his ID.

"Uh!" The security guard was stunned upon hearing that Ye Chen was the owner of Villa Nine. After a quick glance at the ID, he saluted and let Ye Chen in.

It was Ye Chen's first time here, so he had to find Villa Nine. The villa area wasn't large, with fewer than thirty villas, making it easy to locate.

When he arrived at the entrance of Villa Nine, Ye Chen smiled wryly. As expected, the front door was covered in a thick layer of dust, indicating a long period of neglect.

Without getting out of the car, Ye Chen took out his phone to search for a locksmith, made a call, and waited.

This time, he didn't call the police, as it wasn't necessary. He had figured out the pattern: the property deeds would be on the living room coffee table.

In about twenty minutes, the locksmith arrived. Ye Chen didn't ask them to open the main gate.

"Sorry, I left my keys inside. Could you open the villa door for me? Here's my ID."

"Sir, are you sure this is your home?"

"Of course. The property deed and keys are inside. Once you open the door, I can show you. If it's not mine, you can call the police."

With Ye Chen's assurance, the locksmiths couldn't argue. Besides, the security guards wouldn't let someone in unless they were the owner.

The two locksmiths nodded and climbed over the gate. Ye Chen followed them.

Half an hour later, the villa door was open. Ye Chen entered first. As expected, a set of keys, a property deed, and three car keys were on the coffee table.

Ye Chen picked up the property deed, checked it, and handed it to the locksmiths. "You can take a look."

Seeing Ye Chen indeed had the property deed, the locksmiths said, "No need. What about the lock?"

"Replace it with a new set."

The lock had been forcibly broken and needed replacement, costing several thousand yuan.

But Ye Chen didn't mind the expense now. A few days ago, he would've been pained by even a few hundred yuan, but now, thousands didn't bother him.

This must be the mindset of a nouveau riche, and Ye Chen was now one of them.

Ye Chen was certain that these villas had the same previous owner, given the identical decoration style: solid wood furniture, high-end appliances, and antique displays.

While Ye Chen surveyed the room, the locksmiths installed the new lock and informed Ye Chen of the default code, advising him to change it later.

After paying them, Ye Chen watched the locksmiths leave.

Once they were gone, Ye Chen quickly went upstairs but came back down soon after. There wasn't much to see, as it was identical to the previous two villas.

Then Ye Chen took the car keys from the coffee table and went outside to the garage. As expected, three cars were parked inside.

Among them were a Rolls-Royce Mulsanne and two cars Ye Chen had never seen before.

This wasn't a problem. Ye Chen took out his phone, snapped a photo of each car, and used Baidu to search.

The sports car was a McLaren, priced at over 12 million yuan.

After checking the sports car, Ye Chen photographed the SUV and searched it on Baidu.

Ye Chen needed to know this information because he planned to rent out this villa as well.
