Chapter 20 - The enemy's need

After assembling the rifle and a few rounds of ammunition, I returned to my room in the mansion.

Why?

(I can't go into the jungle with these clothes.)

That's right, I was still wearing the ridiculously expensive formal suit I bought to look powerful. I set about changing into my default clothing: a white shirt and linen pants.

Looking at myself in the mirror, I thought:

(Even with the starter clothes, I look pretty tough...)

Just my eyes alone give off an intimidating aura, and the luminescent white dye doesn't help.

"Someday I'll be the big boss," I said with conviction as I gazed at this version of myself in the mirror.

After that, there weren't many preparations, as I had everything in my inventory.

"If I show the rifle in the city, there'll probably be a battle royale over it."

At this point, players must already know that if you kill another player, you can loot their inventory, so openly displaying the rifle can only be called foolishness.

(Never underestimate human greed.)

It's a proven fact that humans are so greedy that often we don't care about the consequences as long as what we're doing benefits us.

--

As I left the mansion and walked down the street, I noticed something interesting.

"Fruit sale! Get your exotic fruits here!" shouted a guy selling fruits? or something similar.

"Get the first crafts of the new world! 2-for-1 price!" shouted another guy selling a strange craft made from flowers and leaves.

(It seems people are already starting to create their own makeshift businesses...)

I even saw a few buildings that were already constructed, unlike the blue-blocked buildings.

"Hey, look at that guy, his hair is glowing... cool."

"He must be a millionaire, I heard that gacha is a scam."

"Don't you get insurance with the cosmetic one?"

"Yeah, but people recommend not throwing your money into the gacha and instead getting materials in the world or trading."

Needless to say, those guys were talking while pointing at me.

*Sideways glances

(I'm getting quite a few looks...)

*Quickening my pace.

I'm not a fan of people staring at me, so I decided to pick up my pace towards the tower.

*Steps

*Steps

Upon entering the tower, another atmosphere was felt.

"We need one more to complete the group of 6, preferably women."

"Buying extra ammunition and food."

"I'm a war veteran, looking for reliable allies. Don't speak if you're not military."

People looking for allies, others buying weapons and ammunition from those who don't want to fight, among other things...

(I don't think forming a group now is a good idea...), I thought, imagining the same scenario of robbery out of greed.

I'm still not superior enough to the other players. In fact, I only have one weapon advantage since my muta-genes don't specialize in giving me brute power, but rather progressive enhancers.

"Oh well," I said and proceeded to enter the private building I bought earlier.

*Steps

*Steps

*Step-

I stopped when I saw some people in front of my building, trying to force the locks.

"Hey you, what are you looking at? Keep walking," one of them said.

There were five people, all men, and from what I could see, they even tried to shoot the locks.

(What are these bastards doing?), I thought angrily as I watched what they were doing.

"Haven't you heard? Do you want us to leave you full of holes?" another guy said, this time pointing his gun at me.

*Look to one side.

*Look to the other side.

After looking both ways and realizing there weren't relatively close people...

"You're damaging private property, bastard. Don't blame me for being aggressive," I said as I gripped the rifle from my inventory and...

*PAM!

[You've killed 'RonSlayer']

*PAM!

[You've killed 'MirorMan']

*PAM!

[You've killed 'SlikiSlayer']

*Bang!

*Bang!

*PAM!

[You've killed 'MarkNotOnli']

*PAM!

[You've killed 'BugMan']

I indiscriminately opened fire at those sons of bitches, hitting them and taking them all down.

Although two managed to shoot back, one missed and the other...

(Damn it, that bastard got me in the stomach!), I thought in horror as I saw the hole where the bullet entered.

*Heat.

*Rising heat.

I could feel a kind of heat forming in the affected area, growing hotter and more painful.

"Good thing I have some of these," I said and pulled out a universal potion from the inventory.

*Glug!

*Glug!

Without hesitation, I swallowed it and then...

*Pain.

(Shit, it hurts like hell!!)

I felt as if something slow and painful was coming out of my stomach accompanied by blood...

*Ping!

After the bullet came out, the pain slowly faded away.

(Sons of bitches... should I put up a warning sign?), I seriously considered putting up a strong warning for bastards like this group.

*Steps.

*Steps.

"I hope I don't see you around here again, you little bitches," I said as I looted their inventories.

I didn't even bother to see what they had.

(Let's see... nothing? Phew, this is secure), I thought with admiration as I saw how, despite having some scratches, the building door remained intact in terms of functionality.

*Open the door.

"As expected from the tower, the materials are top-notch," I said with admiration as I opened the door and entered.

--

Upon entering, everything was as I left it: a large room with luxurious sofas arranged in a circle.

(Alright, final checks and we're off.)

2 pistols on each side - Check.

Rifle - Check.

Emergency potions - Check.

Machete for clearing weeds - Check.

"Everything seems to be in order."

"Ready!" I said the magic words to re-enter the floor.

But instead of being teleported directly, this appeared:

[Humanity has established bases at different points. Choose your deployment point:

Jungle Biome - Danger level: High (Previously used deployment point).

Forest Biome - Danger level: Medium.

Desert Biome - Danger level: Extreme.

*Note: Danger levels are classified according to nearby native creatures.]

(I think it's better to return to the jungle. I have a feeling I'll find something amazing there.)

"I choose the first one," I told the tower interface.

At that moment, a map appeared showing the bases in that biome of other players, and even their names appeared.

Needless to say, I chose Luke's, as I was familiar with that place.

[Analyzing situation...

No enemies attacking the base.

Conditions met, deploying!

Good luck, player!]

*Fuuushhh!

And with that message, a familiar milky white light enveloped me.

---

*Fushhhh!

*¡Cucú! (Birds chirping).

As the light faded away, the first thing I felt was...

(What heat...), yes, a jungle heat greeted me.

*Steps.

*Steps.

Upon exiting the base interior, I didn't see many people nearby.

(Well... the 'High' danger level isn't very appealing, to say the least...), I thought and remembered that rabbit.

"Now that I think about it... shouldn't we know the enemy's resource?" With that question in mind, I checked the Technological Core.

[Floor 0:

Defeated Enemies (Gobrakians): 0.001%

Allies Eliminated (Earthlings): 0.004%

Enemy Bases: Unknown

Allied Bases: 13 available

Minimum Monster Elimination Quota: 200/20,000 monsters

Resources (Earthlings): Precious metals/Material for muta-genes

Enemy Resources (Gobrakians): You can find out! (once discovered, it will be visible to other members of your race)]

"What an honor... now let me see their resources," I said enthusiastically upon seeing that message.

[The player 'Silent Shadow' being the first member of the Earthlings race to kill an enemy of the other race (Gobrakians) has discovered the resources they urgently need. Pay attention!

Enemy Resources: Human resources.

Description: Gobrakians are a dominant and brutish goblin race, which accidentally eliminated all compatible females for healthy reproduction on their home world, so the tower has provided the best specimens for them on this floor.

Identify and seize enemy resources with this information! ]

(...)

"They need women? That... that's pretty crazy," I said, shocked to see the enemy resources.

(Wait a moment... does that mean there are a bunch of sexy girls around here?)

Suddenly, my excitement level skyrocketed.
