*3:24 am., Friday*
A man with long black hair, in a white clad kimono, adorned with black lotus flower designs on the back of it, jumped from building to building, "It should be around here somewhere... the amount of kyōsei in this area, I sense it from every direction." An anxious expression washed over the man's face.
*4:30pm., Friday*
"Hey, Taka!" "Wait up!" A short, nerdy girl with long blonde hair, ran up to Taka frantically.
"Where are you going to, Taka? Do you have a death wish or something!? We need to get to the evacuation zone, we don't want one those things getting ahold of us!"
Taka looked over her shoulder with a glance of annoyance, "oh yeah, and why is that, Hana?"
"If one of those parasites gets ahold of you, you'll be turned into one of those grotesque creatures. Not only that, then the Shīrudo will be forced to track you down and kill you!"
Taka smirked, charging up a snarky reply.
"Oh don't worry, it might make you look better, being turned into one of those monsters. And seeing as they haven't tried hunting you down already, it's only looking up no matter what happens to ya."
Hana gasped, as if shocked by the sudden rudeness displayed towards her.
"You know, I'm aware you're a jerk to mostly everyone, but I'm the only one still willing to talk to you with your sour attitude. You could try being a little more grateful!" She crossed her arms in anger.
Before Taka could say anything, the world around them trembled fiercely, letting out a bellowing crackle.
"What the hell is happening!?" Taka shouted, her voice expressing nothing but fear and confusion. Suddenly, the ground beneath them split open, throwing them on opposite sides of the giant fissure.
Then, without skipping a beat, a world shattering screech echoed from the bottom of the fissure, causing Taka and Hana to collapse underneath it's menacing presence.
Taka grabbed at her throat, "I can't breath!" Suddenly, a giant creature flew out from the bottom of the fissure, the force of the wind from the creatures flapping wings propelling both of them into nearby buildings.
The sudden impact caused Taka to cough up blood, "Wha- why is this happening to us?!" The building surrounding Taka began to collapse on top of her. "Shit! I need to get out of here, now!"
Picking herself up, Taka was finally coming to the realization of just how serious her situation is. Grabbing at her chest, she realized that it was getting increasingly difficult to breath, and her vision was getting hazy.
"Damn it! I don't want to die here!" Taka punched the ground, causing her hand to bleed. "I can't die here! I need to get home to my sister! I can't leave her alone again!"
All of a sudden, the giant zombie like bird nose dived towards Hana, crashing through the building, impaling her in the chest. Shocked at the event that just took place, Hana's eyes widened is pure terror, following a piercing scream that could be heard from blocks away.
Hana tried pushing the creatures giant black beak out of her abdomen frantically, but it was all for naught. In another instant, hana's eyes went from full of life to hollow and lifeless, her body went limp, causing her to droop over the decaying creatures terrifying face.
Taka darted her eyes towards the incident that had just taken place, catching sight of Hana's gruesome fate. "HANA!!!"
In a mere second, as if she wasnt even remotely injured, Taka ripped herself off the ground, and sprinted towards the beast. "I'LL KILL YOU FOR THAT!!"
Before Taka could take another step however, a sharp pain in her head caused her to tumble over. "AGHHHHH, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!!!" A sense of panick washed over her, as she felt something squirming inside her brain, as if something was alive in there.
As the screaming continued, the beast noticed her.
Taking it's time, the beast opened its mouth, ripping Hana in half, causing her insides to spill out. It then tossed her body up in the eir, catching her in it's mouth, swallowing her whole. It then shot a glance at Taka, and let out a bellowing roar, just before bolting towards Taka.
The ground shattered beneath the gigantic creatures feet as it continued towards her, but before it caught up to her, something in the sky crashed down to the surface, hitting the monster square in the face, causing it to collapse from the impact.
Because of the giant impact the object in the sky made, a huge cloud of dust overtook the surrounding area, blinding Taka in an instant.
"What?" Taka coughed. As the dust cloud started to clear moments later, Taka, about to pass out, noticed that the cause of the impact wasn't an object... It was a person.
The pressure they let off was unlike anything Taka had ever felt before. Long black hair floated in the wind, a fancy white kimono that touched to the ground, adorned by three lotus petal designs on the back of it, a sheathed katana on their side.
This person was strong, and ready for a fight, Taka deduced.
Suddenly, Taka collapsed to the ground, unconscious due to the insurmountable amount of pain she felt.
The mysterious person took a single step forward, suddenly disappearing from the monsters sight, before appearing behind it.
Drawing the katana from its sheath, as fast as lightning, a huge slash appeared on the creatures head, causing black liquid to spew from the open wound. the ground beneath the creature had been cut in two as well.
The creature flailed around in panick, attempting to swat the mysterious person away. "Tsk" As if disappointed by the creatures attitude, Taka's savior just stood there, blocking the creatures attacks with their sheathe.
Noticing it wasn't getting anywhere, the beast unleashed a ferocious attack, which seemed to have caught them by surprise.
Being forced to deflect the attack with their sword, the person grinned, before releasing a huge attack of their own. Their attack caused a massive shockwave to cut straight through the creature, slicing the surrounding buildings clean in two.
A look of shock ran across the monsters face, just before it's two halves slid apart, falling on opposite sides of the ground.
Blood then gushed from every faucet of its innards, raining down upon Taka and her savior.
