The white gate was made of the purest and lightest wood the elf had ever seen. The sight of the entrance reminded her of her father's white hair, almost as if the moon had painted them in its image. The soldiers surrounding her on both sides wore gleaming armor, a mix of gold and green adorning their equipment. The light from the illuminated hall reflected strongly off the metal, making them appear like a divine army.
The woman kept her head down, but her curiosity got the better of her. As she raised her eyes, even she was left speechless. A gigantic wooden spiral rose to the skies, with an entire city elevated above, connected by hundreds of thick branches. The base of the city consisted of enormous statues of elves with crowns carved into the very tree, their hands extended upwards as if blessing the populace.
"So, this is Yggdrasil…?" the elf whispered.
"Pick up the pace, our lady is waiting," said one of the guards escorting her.
