Tessa aimed at the moving figure, she had never held a gun before, she left home because of her family nature.
Violence wasn't her nature, she didn't want to go to hell for killing people, and she never wanted to hold a gun, a tool meant for killing people.
If she continued to stay in the family, she would definitely do one of these things, so she took her opportunity and ran far away from home, only to meet the wrong people.
They used her, treated her worse than their servant, and played her for a fool.
Tessa gripped harden, if only they knew where she came from, they wouldn't dare to cough in her presence let alone say something.
She would show them who she was, she would not let them go scot-free, if she had to embrace her family to get the power she desired, she would gladly do it.
The Winston family would pay for making a fool of somebody like her.
BANG!
Tessa took the shot, but she missed, she took another shot and she missed, she continued to fire and she missed all of her shots.
She picked the second gun and the third, the result was the same. She couldn't hit any of the targets.
Tessa faced Jeremy.
"Bring me more bullets"
Jeremy's attention moved to his watch.
"Your time is up already, you have already failed this stage, time to go to the next stage"
Tessa frowned deeply.
"Why can't I continue, what will happen if I pass the next stage"
Jeremy faced Tessa.
"Once you fail the stage, you would have to wait for the next day. If you pass a stage, then that stage is completed, until you complete all the stages, you will not be welcome as a member of the wood family"
Tessa squeezed her fist hard, her father must've arranged these stages just to make her suffer. She would pass them all.
"Take me to the next"
Jeremy took Tessa to another location in the manor compound.
"This path leads to a cliff, if you can reach the cliff within the given time, then you have passed the stage"
Tessa's eyebrows pushed together, she started running when Jeremy clicked his stopwatch, Jeremy walked to the power bike which was at the corner of a building, and he moved it to the cliff direction, he passed Tessa on the way.
Tessa kept running, she got to the cliff at night, she rested multiple times, and she almost gave up too.
She collapsed to the floor when she got to the cliff, her breath was vibrating.
"Did I pass"
She moved her attention to Jeremy.
"You failed. Tomorrow you would start all over"
Tessa stood up to her feet.
"Is there a stage after this"
Jeremy moved his bike to Tessa.
"Yes, you would have to win me in hand-to-hand combat, if you pass that, then you would be part of the Wood family once more"
Tessa's face darkened, the drilling was more difficult than she imagined, she didn't see herself winning Jeremy, not because he was a man, but because he had been training his entire life, and she had just begun hers.
Her father didn't plan to make it easier for her, her grandfather's death must've hurt him, she shouldn't have left.
Tessa walked home herself. She vowed to pass the drilling process.
One month later.
Tessa was done cutting her hair short, her hair was now reaching to her neck. She stood up from her seat and came out of her room. Jeremy was waiting for her outside, this was the final day for her, if she didn't pass all the stages today, then she should forget about joining the family again.
Jeremy and Tessa approached the field, Tessa had somehow increased in height, and her figure was perfectly outlined now, she had been working out for a month, so her body had undergone massive changes.
Her heart-shaped face was more of a killer face now, Jeremy was finding it difficult not to stare at her, although he knew his place.
Tessa picked up the gun and aimed at the target.
Bang
Bang
Bang
She aimed correctly without missing any of the targets, she commenced to the next stage and she made it in time before the countdown was over.
Tessa faced off with Jeremy and won, she knew Jeremy went easy on her, but she had drastically improved after countless face-offs.
"You have passed all the drills. It's time for the final stage"
Tessa's eyebrows pushed to her eyes, she thought this was the final stage, what final stage was Jeremy talking about now?
"Your dad is waiting for you there"
Jeremy points to the farm barn close to them. Tessa faced the open barn, she hadn't seen her father since he came to her aid in the hospital. She had been in the family manor for a month now, and her father never sent for her, he truly kept his word of not engaging her until she passed the drills.
Tessa walked to the barn, Jeremy followed her from behind. He was still surprised that Tessa passed all the stages, Sir Mateo was getting old, he would not be able to handle all the work anymore, it was time to pass all the responsibility to Tessa.
Tessa would soon be the head of the Wood family, she had to be strong and possess the quality of a leader, so nobody would bully her, that was why Sir Mateo organized these stages, he wanted to make Tessa a strong woman, and he succeeded in doing so.
Tessa was no longer the weak girl from a month ago, she had become one of them.
They reached the barn, somebody was tied to a chair. He was messed up badly.
Her father was punching the man in his face, but he stopped when they entered the barn.
Mateo looked up to see his daughter, he was immediately handed a handkerchief by one of his men, to clean the blood on his hands.
The man tied to the chair screams out in tears.
"Please let me go..... I swear I won't do it again"
Mateo didn't put an ear to the man's word, he walked to Tessa and one of his men handed him a pistol, he handed the pistol to Tessa.
"Tessa, I want you to kill this man"
