Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Moving forward

Meanwhile, in his private chambers, Darius Silverthrone, the alpha king of Silvervale, sits at his desk, engrossed in his thoughts, a sigh escaped his lips.

The mountain of petitions and audiences he had to endure this past few weeks all on the issue of his mate, and it was infact unbearable.

He wondered who was the moron that gave his father the idea to establish that dreadful council that's absolutely no use to him.

He had to settle this mate issue fast and quick so he wouldn't be tempted to murder someone in a fit of rage.

He sent a message to Marcus through he's mind link to meet him in his chambers.

A few minutes later a knock was heard at the door , and Darius gave his permission to come in, he already knew who was at the door through his scent.

"Everything alright Darius?" Marcus asked " you seem restless"

"I want you to send a message to the council and let them know that I've chosen serephina McMillan to be my chosen mate".

Marcus looked surprised and was taken aback by his decision.

" I thought they gave you till the full moon to find your mate" Marcus asked him.

"I have no intention of finding her , and I want no further discussion about this, do as I ask Marcus"

"yes my king," Marcus bowed to him and left to do the king's bidding.

Darius once again was left alone to his thoughts, he couldn't help but think about his parents.

No, he'll never be like his father, no he won't.

That has always been his resolve.

As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the village square, Rosaline sat at her small wooden table, a look of determination on her face. Beside her, Ciara leaned in, her eyes wide with excitement.

"I can't believe you're really going to do this, Rose," Ciara said, using the affectionate nickname she had given her friend long ago.

"You're going to revolutionize the fashion industry in Silvervale!"

Rosaline smiled, grateful for Ciara's unwavering support.

"I have to do something, Ciara. We can't keep living like this, struggling to make ends meet."

Ciara nodded, her expression serious. "I understand, Rose. And I'm here to help you in any way I can. You know that, right?"

Rosaline's eyes filled with tears of gratitude. "Thank you, Ciara. I don't know what I would do without you."

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching. Ciara's brother, Liam, appeared in the doorway, a concerned look on his face.

"Is everything alright, Ciara?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry. "I thought I heard raised voices."

Ciara smiled reassuringly at her brother. "Everything's fine, Liam. Rosaline and I were just discussing her plans to expand her mother's business."

Liam's eyes lit up with interest. "That's fantastic news, Rosaline! My mother was a seamstress too, you know. She taught Ciara everything she knows about sewing and design."

Rosaline looked at Ciara, a newfound understanding dawning on her.

"That explains why you're so good at it, Ciara. Your mother must have been an incredible woman."

Ciara's smile faltered for a moment, a shadow crossing her features.

"She was, Rose. Even though she passed away when we were young, her spirit lives on in everything we do."

Unbeknownst to Rosaline, Liam's gaze lingered on her, his heart filled with a love that had remained unspoken for far too long.

He had always admired her from afar, drawn to her kindness and strength. It's not hard falling in love with rose, she's beautiful no one can deny that, but even though she's beautiful, she has never been arrogant, instead she's known for her kindness and strength.

Liam Spencer will never forget the day he met her. His family had just moved over to willow after his mother's death, with the hope of starting afresh.

Because his father had been greatly traumatized after the incident, he hoped that with a new place and a new environment, his son and daughter would find happiness again.

And while he was settling in with his family, the rogues attacked willow.

"Liam! to the cellar now, hide with your sister" Mr Spencer shouted.

"The rogues have infiltrated and they've gotten past the pack guards, don't come out until I say so" .

Screams and shouts could be heard, and dread filled Mr Spencer.

Liam did as he's father said, he hid in the cellar with his sister, while his father shifted into his wolf and ran to join the fight against the rogues.

"Liam, will papa be ok?" little Ciara asked her older brother.

"shhh, we need to stay quiet, don't worry he'll be fine" Liam replied.

But unfortunately for them a rogue that was near their hiding place found them and smashed the door of the cellar open.

But before he could hurt them, Liam's father collided with the rogue, both wolves snarling and slashing one another.

Liam took that as an opportunity to run, so he ran with his sister. He didn't know where to run to because everywhere was in pandemonium.

And that's when he saw her.

"Psst, over here" Rosaline called to them.

"The rogues won't come near here"

And just like she said, the rogues never looked their way. It was as if they were invisible and no one could see them.

They went inside her house, and Liam found out that things were different. Outside was very noisy, because of the attack, but inside her house, everywhere was quiet and peaceful, he was astounded.

"Hi am Rosaline what's yours?" and she smiled.

Liam was mesmerized by her smile that no words came out of his mouth. He snapped out of it when he heard his sisters voice .

"Why is this house not being attacked, if you hadn't led us here, we wouldn't have known or remembered that this house existed" Liam asked

"I do not know. My mother said I should never leave the house whenever anything happens, that I'll be safe inside the house, and she has always been right" Rosaline replied.

"I saw you both and somehow I knew you needed help, so I had to bring you both here. Can you two keep it a secret?"

Liam wanted to know how it was possible, but since she saved them both, he promised to keep it a secret.

When alpha Loren and his sentries subdued all the rogues, and the attack was over, his father later found them, as if people can now see the house after the attack was over.

That has always been a mystery to him, but as they grew up, he found her and her mother harmless.

Both mother and daughter struggling to survive after he learned that her father abandoned them. So he opted to protecting and admiring her from afar, in the guise of being her friend ...

Rosaline reached out and took Ciara's hand, a silent gesture of comfort and solidarity. "We'll make her proud, Ciara. I promise."

With renewed determination, Rosaline and Ciara set to work, their friendship and shared history giving them the strength to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
