Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Planning

She was running, running from something she did not know nor remembered.

Deep down she knew that something was chasing her, but she had no idea what it was.

The only instinct she knew right now was to just run, so she did.

Rosaline tossed and turned in her bed, trapped in the clutches of a restless dream.

She ran through the darkened woods, the sound of her ragged breaths filling the air. Leaves crunched beneath her feet, and branches reached out like skeletal fingers, threatening to snag her.

She dared not glance back, sensing a malevolent presence chasing her, its hot breath on her neck.

Her heart pounded in her chest as she pushed herself to run faster, desperation lending her speed.

Finally, she burst into a small clearing, her chest heaving, and turned around, ready to confront her pursuer.

There, standing before her, was a massive brown wolf, its fur bristling, and its eyes glowing like orbs of fire in the darkness.

It stared at her with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine.

Rosaline gasped, paralyzed with fear, as the wolf took a step closer, its gaze unwavering.

She could feel its power, its primal energy radiating from its form.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still, the only sound the pounding of her heart in her ears.

With a start, Rosaline woke up, drenched in sweat, her heart still racing.

She sat up in bed, trying to calm her racing thoughts, the image of the wolf burning bright in her mind.

It's the same dream again, she have lost count how many nights she kept having that dream or rather the 'nightmare ' as she termed it.

This dream, or rather, this nightmare, had been haunting her for weeks now, each time more vivid and unsettling than the last.

As she caught her breath, Rosaline's mind raced with questions. Why did she keep dreaming of this wolf? What did it signify?

Was it merely a product of an overactive imagination, or was there a deeper meaning behind it?.

Rosaline couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this dream than met the eye.

It felt like a message, a warning even.

She had dreamt of that same wolf before, its eyes blazing with an otherworldly light, its presence both terrifying and mesmerizing. She glanced out the window, the first light of dawn casting a soft glow over her room. Rosaline knew she couldn't ignore this dream any longer.

She needed to understand its significance, to unravel the mystery that seemed to shroud it but the question is how?.

She knew that dreams often held secrets, glimpses into the subconscious mind. Perhaps this dream was trying to tell her something, a message she was yet to decipher.

Rosaline glanced out the window, the first light of dawn painting the sky in hues of pink and gold.

She knew she couldn't ignore this dream any longer. It felt important, somehow, like a puzzle piece she needed to fit into place to understand the bigger picture of her life.

With a determined sigh and resolve, Rosaline decided to get out of bed first. She swung her legs over the side of the bed, stood up and walked to the window, gazing out at the awakening world.

She knew that the answers she sought wouldn't come easily, but she was willing to delve into the depths of her dreams to uncover the truth. She was determined to uncover the meaning behind this recurring dream, to unravel its mysteries and find the truth it held within.

The morning sun cast a golden glow over the opulent dining room where Lady Seraphina McMillan sat with her mother, Lady Arabella McMillan, a prominent member of the council.

Seraphina, with her striking features and air of confidence, listened attentively as her mother spoke.

"Seraphina, my dear," began Lady Arabella, her tone serious yet tinged with pride, "I have important news to share with you. The king has made his choice for a mate, and it is you."

Seraphina's eyes widened in surprise, her heart skipping a beat at the unexpected announcement. "Me? But why? How?"

Arabella smiled, a mix of maternal warmth and council member's wisdom in her gaze.

"Your grace, poise, and intelligence have caught the king's attention.

He sees in you a worthy companion to stand by his side and rule Silvervale together."

Seraphina's mind raced with a whirlwind of emotions—pride, excitement, and a hint of apprehension.

She has always wanted to be queen, to stand side by side with Darius.

Ever since she set eyes on him, she has always desired him, she hoped that when she will get her wolf that both of them will be mates.

But unfortunately when she did get her wolf that didn't happen, he wasn't hers but she was determined to make him hers.

So with that thought she made sure she had a good reputation and always appeared where he will see and notice her.

With the news of her being chosen to be his mate and queen, she was ecstatic about it, mingling with the thrill of the opportunity it presented.

"Mother, I... I am honored," Seraphina said, her voice steady despite the turmoil within.

"I will do everything in my power to fulfill this duty and serve Silvervale with dignity and grace."

Arabella reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Seraphina's.

"I know you will, my dear. You have always been destined for greatness, and now is your time to shine."

Seraphina took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts of the future. "What happens now? What is expected of me?"

Arabella smiled, her eyes shimmering with pride. "We will need to make preparations for your official announcement as the king's chosen mate.

There will be ceremonies and celebrations, and you will need to begin your studies on the history and traditions of our kingdom."

Seraphina nodded, her determination shining through. "I am ready, Mother. I will make you proud."

"Good"... "But first you've been tasked to be the one in charge of the king's birthday ball, it needs to be perfect no mistakes, we must not give those elders room to judge you nor deem you unfit to be queen, do you understand?"

"Yes mother, I'll make sure that it will be perfect " . Both mother and daughter smiled at each other, each happy for the turn of events.

As they continued their breakfast, Seraphina's mind buzzed with plans and possibilities for her future as the queen of Silvervale, her heart brimming with a newfound sense of purpose and determination.

She will make a perfect queen she thought. infact she will go down in history as the best queen ever in silvervale, and she smiled with that thought.
