As Aki spoke with the doctor in charge of Yuki, he suddenly felt a small tug on his clothes from beside him. He looked down to find Yuki pulling at his shirt, her eyes wide with concern. Noticing her silent plea to say something, Aki squatted down to her level, putting on a reassuring smile.
"What about my parents' permission?" she asked, her voice a mix of curiosity and worry.
Aki blinked, realizing he hadn't considered that detail. "Oh, right, I totally forgot about that." Turning back to the doctor, Aki quickly added, "Mr. Yami, please inform Masachka' s, Yuki's parents, that I'm taking her out for some fresh air. If they ask about my identity, just tell them I'm a doctor so they won't worry too much."
Mr. Yami nodded, scribbling down a few notes on a clipboard. "I'll do as you suggested, Aki-dono," he said, agreeing to Aki's request as he filled out some forms to officially allow Yuki to go on an outing.
Yuki looked up at Aki with a playful glare. "You really are good at lying. I shouldn't believe a word you say in the future," she joked, crossing her arms and pretending to pout.
Aki chuckled at her reaction, raising an eyebrow. "If it's for a good reason, sometimes lying isn't all that bad," he said, trying to defend himself. "Besides, it's not like I'm a bad influence or anything."
Yuki snorted, "Right, because telling the doctor to lie is totally what good influences do," she teased, rolling her eyes dramatically. "Next thing I know, you'll be teaching me how to pick locks or something."
Aki laughed, playing along. "Well, if you're interested, I could—"
"Aki-ni!" Yuki interrupted, her eyes wide in mock horror, though a smile was playing on her lips. "I was kidding!"
Mr. Yami, the doctor, couldn't help but chuckle at their banter. "Alright, you two, just remember to be back before the clock hit 9 pm. And make sure Yuki takes it easy. No running around too much, okay?" he instructed, handing Aki a small bag with Yuki's medication and some paperwork. "Have fun, but be safe."
Aki nodded. "Got it, doc. We'll be back in one piece, promise." He gave a small salute, making Yuki giggle.
The two made their way down to the parking lot, Yuki skipping a little ahead, clearly excited about their little adventure. When they reached Aki's car, Yuki's eyes widened in amazement. "Wow! I didn't know Aki-ni had such an awesome car! What's it called? It's so beautiful!" she exclaimed, running her hands over the smooth, sleek exterior and peeking into the luxurious interior with awe.
Aki smiled at her enthusiasm. "This, Yuki-chan, is a BMW," he said as he opened the passenger door for her. "As for the specific model… well, that might be a bit too complicated to explain to a 9 year old kid."
Yuki slid into the passenger seat, her small hands patting the cozy leather upholstery. "Just knowing it's a BMW is cool enough!" she said, settling in and fastening her seatbelt.
Aki walked around to the driver's side, got in, and started the engine. The car roared to life, and Yuki's eyes sparkled with excitement. Aki grinned as he began to accelerate, the car smoothly pulling out of the parking lot.
As they drove towards the venue where Ai Hoshino and her group's concert would be held, Yuki couldn't contain her excitement. "This is the best day ever!" she exclaimed, her face pressed against the window as she watched the city zoom past.
Reaching the venue, Aki met the manager, a tall man with a sharp suit and an even sharper look in his eyes. The manager, Mr. Tanaka, greeted Aki with a deep bow and a firm handshake, recognizing him immediately. Aki wasn't just any guest; he was a vital sponsor and held a special status within the industry. With Mr. Tanaka's guidance, Aki was led through a series of hallways to the backstage area, where he planned to discuss some business first.
Before diving into the business side of things, Aki made sure Yuki was settled in comfortably. He had booked a VVIP room, complete with plush sofas, a large screen for watching the concert, and a variety of snacks and drinks laid out on a polished glass table. The room was soundproofed, ensuring she would be comfortable and not overwhelmed by the noise of the concert except the idol singing.
"Yuki," Aki said softly, squatting down to her level. "I need to have a word with this man here about some business matters. Can you stay here until I come back?"
Yuki nodded eagerly, her eyes already scanning the room in awe. "Okay, Aki-ni," she agreed. Without another word, she bounced over to the sofa and flopped down, sinking into the cushions with a contented sigh. "This sofa is softer than my bed!" she exclaimed, making herself comfortable.
Satisfied that Yuki was settled in, Aki followed Mr. Tanaka out of the room and down another hallway to a small office that served as a makeshift meeting room. Inside, a stack of papers awaited him on a desk. Aki took a seat and began flipping through the documents, his eyes scanning each page quickly but thoroughly.
"Hmm, an indoor venue, huh?" Aki mused aloud, his tone a mix of contemplation and mild amusement. "Well, we're not that famous yet, so what do we expect? Not like we can get the big shots to approve a massive outdoor concert." He chuckled to himself. It wasn't that he couldn't make it happen—he had the means and connections—but the thought of organizing something so large was exhausting to him. Maybe when he was in the mood, he could pull off an international concert. But right now, he was too lazy to go that far.
Mr. Tanaka nodded, trying to gauge Aki's mood. "Yes, sir, and we expect about 20,000 people to attend today's show," he informed.
Aki raised an eyebrow, still flipping through the pages. "Oh, that's a good number for first-timers," he said. "How many people can this venue hold?"
"About 100,000, sir," Mr. Tanaka replied.
Aki paused, tapping a pen against his chin. "It'll be fairly deserted then...but it's a start," he remarked, a hint of a sigh escaping his lips. "Are the girls ready?"
"Yes, they are currently rehearsing. If you could give them a visit, it might boost their morale," Mr. Tanaka suggested.
"I know," Aki said with a small smile. "I'll do that."
After wrapping up their conversation, Aki stood up, neatly stacking the papers back on the desk. He could feel the anticipation in the air—the hum of preparations, the quiet rush of the staff setting up. The backstage area was alive with activity; crew members moved swiftly, setting up equipment and coordinating the final touches for the concert.
Aki walked out of the office and made his way toward the rehearsal room. As he approached, he could hear the muffled sounds of music and the rhythmic thump of dance steps from behind the closed doors. He pushed open the door gently, not wanting to disrupt the practice but curious to see how things were going.
Inside, Ai and the other members of the idol group were dancing with precision and energy, their faces focused and determined. They noticed Aki's presence and instantly straightened up, giving him a respectful nod. Aki waved a hand casually, signaling them to continue.
"Just came to check on you all," he said, leaning against the doorframe with a relaxed posture. "Make sure you're giving it your all. Remember, it's not about the number of people in the audience but about the performance you deliver."
The girls nodded, determination shining in their eyes. Encouraged by his words, they continued their rehearsal with renewed vigor. Aki watched for a moment longer, a small smile playing on his lips as he felt a sense of pride watching the young talents. He then turned around, leaving them to their preparations.
As Aki walked back towards the VVIP room, he felt a mix of excitement and anticipation. He was looking forward to seeing how the concert would go.
