Aki, still catching his breath after his performance, mumbled to himself, "Huff, huff... why haven't the girls arrived yet? Did they need more time? Should I sing one more song?" He was deep in thought when the booming voice of the announcer echoed through the venue.
"Ladies and gentlemen, as you have witnessed the godly performance of a rookie singer, would you like to compare it with a professional?"
The crowd roared, "Yeahhhhh!!"
Aki frowned, his eyes narrowing. "What the hell does that mean?" he cursed inwardly. That wasn't part of his script. The lights flickered, and the spotlight that was on him suddenly shifted to the backstage area, illuminating someone stepping out.
"Welcome our ideal singer, Ado!"
The crowd erupted into deafening cheers. "Goddamn it... Ado? The real Ado?" everyone muttered to themselves self, stunned by the sudden shift.
Fans in the crowd were losing their minds, screaming things like:
"It's really her in the flesh!"
"I can die happy now!"
"This concert is way more high-class than we expected!"
"How did they even convince Ado to perform here?"
As the stage filled with the sound of sitar and tabla, Ado took center stage with confidence and flair. Her voice was commanding, and the whole atmosphere shifted again.
"Nah nah nah, ready for my show!
Okay, one-man show, listen, listen!"
Her energy was electric, and the crowd matched it, swaying to the rhythm of her voice. Aki, still on stage, felt like the ground was slipping beneath him. "God, I'm blushing. Who is she? Is she from some anime? A side character or an OC from this world? I don't care—I want her, badly."
The audience chanted her name, their voices blending into a roar that seemed to make the entire venue tremble: "Ado! Ado! Ado!"
Even with all the noise, Ado remained focused, her performance flawless, her voice echoing through the venue.
"Ya ya ya, showtime!
Behold the summit, grand arrival, come over now.
Complete the night, alright, hell yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!"
Aki couldn't help but be in awe. "Damn, she must be really good at this," he thought, realizing how much more good of a singer she is. "If she's this known, it'll be easier for me to get close to her… but how the hell did she get here?" Slowly, Aki backed off to give Ado the whole stage. She was dominating it anyway, and it was clear this was her moment.
As she continued to dance and sing, Aki couldn't take his eyes off her. "I don't mean to show off, no, no…
It's automatic, natural instinct, overflow…"
When Ado finished her performance, the crowd erupted once again into applause. Just as the cheers started to die down, the next announcement came over the speakers:
"Now, a hand of applause for the main event—B Komachi has entered the ring!"
Finally, Aki thought. "now... I hope they give us hype like this too."
The excitement in the air spiked again as Aki and Ado turned to the side of the stage. They watched as Ai and the rest of B Komachi made their entrance, climbing onto the stage with grace. Ado, satisfied with her performance, made her way back to the VIP area, leaving the stage to B Komachi.
Aki could only smile as he watched the stage light up again. "Looks like the real show's about to begin," he thought, stepping aside to let the new act take center stage.
Aki hurried back to the VVIP room, still buzzing from the performance. The moment he stepped inside, a small figure launched at him, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist—Yuki. She clung to him for a brief second before suddenly breaking into a coughing fit. Panic immediately filled the room.
"Yuki!" Aki exclaimed, his heart racing as he realized what was happening. "Misa, hurry, bring the—uh, the inhaler!" He almost said "vape" out of habit but quickly corrected himself. Misa rushed over and handed Yuki the inhaler, and she inhaled it desperately, trying to stabilize her breathing.
Aki watched her with a frown, feeling a pang of guilt. He sighed deeply, turned, and without a word, walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. Yuki, still trying to catch her breath, looked after him with wide, confused eyes. She whispered in a shaky voice, "Is Aki-nii mad at me?"
The entire room heard her, and the atmosphere shifted. Kamiya was the first to step forward, gently patting Yuki on the head. "Don't be sad, Yuki-chan. Your brother, Aki, isn't mad at you. He's a good person. He wouldn't be angry with you for no reason."
Misa joined in, her voice soft but reassuring. "He even warned us about your asthma earlier, Yuki. If anything, he probably feels bad for forgetting in the excitement."
Shikimori, who had been quietly observing, spoke up as well. "I haven't interacted much with shijo-kun, but from what little I've seen, he's kind. He wouldn't intentionally ignore you."
Yuki's eyes flickered with uncertainty, but hearing their comforting words, she slowly began to feel better. Despite her mischievous nature and her strong-willed personality, Yuki was still just a child. She craved affection from those she cared about, and Aki's sudden departure had left her feeling nostalgic and unsure.
Determined, Yuki made up her mind. 'I'll apologize to Aki nii when he comes back.' She thought to herself, a new resolve forming.
The other girls noticed her newfound determination and smiled, proud of her willingness to make things right. Selly and Suzuna exchanged silent glances, their unspoken conversation passing between them effortlessly. Misa noticed and sighed inwardly, amused at how these two always seemed to communicate without words. Is it some sort of talent? she wondered.
Whatever," Misa muttered. "Let's just enjoy Ai's performance." With that, the group shifted their attention back to the screen, watching Ai and the other idols from B Komachi as they started their first song, "sign wa b."
Suddenly, the door swung open, causing everyone to turn. Yuki, thinking it was her brother, quickly exclaimed, "Aki-nii! I'm sorry!" But to her surprise, it wasn't Aki—it was Ado.
Ado, already introduced to the girls earlier by Kyun, one of B Komachi's members and Ado's cousin, gave a small nod as she entered. The girls knew of Ado because Kyun had mentioned her as a star. Kyun had even invited her to the concert, hoping she could bring some excitement and help elevate the show.
Ado's long legs crossed gracefully as she took a seat, her expression calm and composed. She didn't waste time with formalities, her eyes already focused on the performance happening on stage.
Yuki sighed, a little disappointed. "Turns out it's not Aki-nii," she muttered, glancing at Ado.
Ado, sensing the slight tension in the air, asked in her usual casual tone, "Did something happen?" Though she wasn't personally close to Aki, Kyun had filled her in on some details about the group and their dynamics.
Kamiya, who had developed a natural rapport with Ado, explained the situation. She recounted Yuki's earlier asthma attack and how Aki had rushed offstage, concerned about his sister's health.
Ado leaned back, crossing her arms. "I see. If that boy scared you again, I'll beat him," she said casually, though her tone hinted at humor more than seriousness.
"No, you can't!" Yuki quickly protested, defensive of her brother. "Aki-nii didn't mean to upset me."
Ado smirked, lifting one eyebrow. "Alright, alright," she said, shrugging. "You'll have to handle him yourself, then." She turned her attention back to the stage, watching B Komachi's performance with sharp interest.
Despite Ado's laid-back attitude, the girls could feel her star power radiating. Though she had been invited by Kyun to support the show, Ado seemed completely at home in the concert setting.
