Bella's POV
Jameson grabs my hand, pulling me towards the window.
"Go!" he shouts, pushing me out.
I scramble out the window, landing on the soft earth. I am grateful that it was one of the guest rooms downstairs that we have been in. If not, how would we have been able to escape?
I turn back to see Jameson following me. He lands beside me, his face pale and covered with patches of punch marks.
"We have to go," he says, his voice urgent. "Now."
I hear the shouts and the pounding of boots on the ground and suspect that Matt's men may have noticed that we are trying to escape. I look back to confirm my suspicion, only to see men emerging from the darkness.
"Go!" Jameson yells, pushing me forward.
I follow through the woods behind Matt's mansion.He runs beside me, his pace relentless. We run through the forest, the trees blurring around us.
"They're gaining on us," Jameson says, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
