"Ethan," Sophia's voice trembled as she approached him, her hands clenched nervously at her sides.
Ethan turned to face her, his expression looked as though he was aware of the happenings. "Sophie, I wouldn't repeat myself again. Where are you coming from?"
Sophia hesitated for a moment, gathering her courage before she spoke. "I... I need to tell you something, Ethan. But let us go inside, we can talk better with a cup of wine," she slowly let the word out of her mouth,"
"Let go of me," Etha stated refusing to hold her hands, "we are not going anywhere, we will talk this here and now," he furiously stated.
"Is there anything the matter?"
Ethan's brow furrowed in anger. "What do you mean? Everything is the matter, I just don't know how I manage to love a slut like you," he stated.
"What!! what do you mean by that," Sophie stated in confusion, he spoke as though he was aware of what happened last night.
Ethan's eyes widened, his features contorted with disbelief and betrayal. "How could you do this to me, Sophie? After everything we've been through?"
"I don't understand what you are saying. I need you to come out straight, bring me out of the dark, let me know what is wrong and I will apologize to you," Sophie pleaded, she was confused about the current happening.
"Enough of all of the pretense, so you think you can keep this away from me? And I wouldn't get to know about this…"
"Get to know about what…"
"Keep quiet, I saw everything, I know about everything that happened last night, it was a day to our wedding, just one day to our wedding and you did this to me, what else didn't I do for you," Ethan stated with tears.
Tears welled up in Sophia's eyes as she struggled to find the right words. "I was drunk, Ethan. I wasn't thinking clearly. It was a mistake, a terrible mistake, but I need you to understand..."
But Ethan's anger was palpable, his voice rising with each word. "Understand? How can I understand this, Sophie? You betrayed me, betrayed our love!"
Sophia reached out to him, her voice pleading. "Ethan, please, I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I love you, Ethan, more than anything in this world."
But Ethan recoiled from her touch, his eyes filled with pain and betrayal. "I don't know if I can believe you, Sophie. How can I trust anything you say now? You are worst than a slut, what more thing have you done that I don't know about."
Sophia's heart shattered at his words, the weight of her actions crashing down on her. "I understand if you can't forgive me, Ethan. But please, don't let this destroy us. We can work through this together."
But Ethan shook his head, his voice laced with bitterness and resignation. "I don't know if we can, Sophie. I need time to think and to process all of this. But right now, I think it's best if we take a break, and give each other some space."
Sophia's breath caught in her throat, the reality of his words sinking in. "A break? What do you mean, Ethan?"
Ethan's gaze hardened, his jaw clenched with determination. "I mean, I think we need to end this thing we called a relationship, Sophie. I can't be with someone I can't trust. I can't be with a cheater and a slut."
Sophia felt as if the ground had dropped out from beneath her, her world crumbling around her. "End our relationship? Ethan, no, please, don't do this. We can work through this, I know we can."
But Ethan's resolve was unwavering, his voice firm as he spoke. "I'm sorry, Sophie. But I can't do this anymore. I need time to heal, to figure out what I want. And right now, that means ending this relationship. The wedding is therefore canceled."
Sophia's heart shattered into a million pieces, tears streaming down her cheeks as she realized the depth of her mistake. "Please, Ethan, don't leave me. I love you, I need you. Please let us talk things through, we can still make it right."
But Ethan's eyes were cold as he turned away from her, his voice distant and final. "I'm sorry, Sophie. But it's over. I don't want to ever see you anywhere around me, go meet the man you are with, he is a better fit for you than me,"
With those words, Sophia's world crumbled around her, her heart breaking as Ethan walked out of her life, leaving her alone in the empty silence in her home. She sank to her knees, her sobs echoing through the empty halls as she realized that she had lost the love of her life forever.
"Ethan…please, I am begging."
