Navy Headquarters
Marshal's Office
Sengoku finished dealing with the tedious documents, stood up, and walked over to Garp's side, snatching the bag of senbei from his hands.
"Ah, Sengoku, you old man! You stole my senbei!" Garp suddenly stood up and shouted angrily.
Sengoku, unfazed by Garp's reaction, sat on the sofa leisurely, munching on the senbei.
"Garp, is what you just said true? Is the marine named Roja really capable of freely using Conqueror's Haki after just over three years of training?" Sengoku asked, his tone skeptical yet intrigued.
After saying goodbye to Roja, Garp had immediately gone to Sengoku to report what he had witnessed.
"Sengoku, what can I even say about you? You're the Fleet Admiral of the Navy, yet you don't even know the talents under your command. I have no idea how you manage to keep your position," Garp said, quickly snatching back his bag of senbei and mocking Sengoku in the process.
"You still know I'm the Fleet Admiral, don't you? There are countless marines in the Navy Headquarters, and I'm swamped with practical matters every single day. You think I can keep tabs on every single one of them? Why don't you take my job if you're so capable?" Sengoku retorted angrily.
"Hahaha! No thanks. I'm happy being a Vice Admiral. Look how free and relaxed I am! Unlike you, with all that stress turning your hair white—don't think I didn't notice you dyeing it black to look younger!" Garp laughed, continuing his teasing.
"Shut up, Old man!" Sengoku snapped.
"You're an old fool too!" Garp shot back.
"Garp, if Roja is truly a genius, you need to make sure he's trained well. The future of the Navy depends on the next generation," Sengoku said, his tone growing serious.
Then, noticing his senbei bag was empty, Sengoku's irritation flared as he realized Garp had eaten the rest. Suppressing his anger, he shifted the topic.
"By the way, Garp, have you heard about the pirate in the East Blue recently…"
The Next Morning
As agreed, Roja arrived at Garp's training ground early in the morning.
However, the first people he saw were not Garp, but two familiar faces: Coby and Berumelber.
"Brother Roja!"
"Hello, my name is Coby, and this is my friend Berumelber," Coby introduced, pulling Berumelber forward.
"We're here to apologize for our actions yesterday. We were reckless and rude. We're really sorry," Coby said sincerely, bowing deeply.
Berumelber, however, looked reluctant as he followed suit.
"It's okay. How are you two feeling? No injuries?" Roja asked politely.
"Brother Roja, Vice Admiral Garp told me that the power you used to defeat us yesterday was Conqueror's Haki. Only one in a million people has that ability. You're incredible!" Coby said excitedly, his admiration evident.
"Hmph."
Berumelber, still unconvinced, crossed his arms. "It's just Conqueror's Haki. I probably have it too. It just hasn't awakened yet."
Roja ignored Berumelber's comment, choosing instead to chat with Coby.
After a while, Garp arrived.
"What are you all doing here? Don't you have training to do?" Garp scolded sternly.
"Vice Admiral Garp!" Coby and Berumelber shouted, standing at attention.
"Coby, Berumelber, your performance yesterday disappointed me. Today's training will be doubled—no, tripled! If you can't finish it, don't even think about eating or sleeping tonight!" Garp declared.
The two had no choice but to accept their punishment, heading off to train with gloomy expressions.
"Roja, come with me," Garp said, motioning for Roja to follow.
A Barren Mountain
Garp led Roja away from Navy Headquarters to a desolate mountain. Though curious about the reason for their trip, Roja refrained from asking questions, quietly following his instructor.
"Roja, your aptitude is extraordinary. It's rare for someone to master Conqueror's Haki so quickly," Garp began.
"However, keep in mind that Conqueror's Haki is innate—it cannot be developed through training. In actual combat, the other two types of Haki are far more commonly used: Observation Haki and Armament Haki."
"Today, I'm going to demonstrate and explain both types for you," Garp said seriously.
Roja, already familiar with the basics thanks to his system's automatic training, remained silent out of respect.
"First, Observation Haki. Watch closely."
Garp picked up a massive stone, crushed it into gravel with a single punch, and wrapped a piece of cloth around his eyes. He tossed the gravel into the air, letting it rain down like a storm.
With his eyes closed, Garp stood calmly as the gravel fell. Utilizing Observation Haki, he effortlessly dodged every piece, emerging unscathed.
"This is the foundation of Observation Haki. At its peak, you can even foresee brief glimpses of the future," Garp explained.
"Next is Armament Haki."
Garp clenched his fist, and it turned a gleaming black as the Haki coated it.
"This is the basic use of Armament Haki. It enhances strength and allows you to combat even Logia users by bypassing their intangibility," Garp explained.
"But when mastered…" Garp smirked confidently and strode toward a nearby hill.
With a deep breath, Garp threw a punch—not touching the hill at all.
BOOM!
The hill instantly collapsed, disintegrating into rubble as an invisible force burst forth from Garp's fist, obliterating everything in its path.
Roja stood frozen, watching the spectacle with wide eyes.
"This," Garp said with a grin, "is the power of a Armament Haki at it's peak."
