Chapter 6 - The Three Big Races

T

Tonight was indeed a very precious night for Gorr, his battle against the Tree of the Doom taught him many valuable lessons. Now he understands how to utilize the power he has. The sun greeted the dark world signaling that morning had arrived, Gorr opened his eyes and looked around.

It was a terrible sight in the morning. Devastated plains, fallen trees and the dead Tree of Dooms were the sights witnessed by Gorr that morning. But as far as Gorr looked he could not find Barsmith, "Where did the old man go?" asked Gorr in confusion. Gorr's gaze now returned to the Tree of the doom, wondering what had happened last night. An extraordinary battle, where Gorr managed to defeat the monster in front of him by utilizing the power he had well.

A sense of pride grew within Gorr, he who had been using his strength carelessly was now able to use his abilities better. But on the other hand Gorr also felt sad, the memory of his inability to protect his village and family still covers him until now.

"I wish I was stronger back then"

Gorr said while clenching his hands. Shortly after, Gorr got up and decided to walk around while looking for Barsmith's whereabouts.

This was the first time Gorr walked leisurely in this forest. Previously, he passed through this forest full of anger. Inside the forest, Gorr was surprised to find that many animals had dried up and died, as if someone had sucked them. They still seemed to be breathing but it seemed like their lives were no longer long. Shortly after he tried to investigate the condition of the animals, Gorr saw Gourmeth and Barsmith carrying their catch. Gorr ran over and greeted them

"Hey, where have you been? Why didn't you invite me?"

"You couldn't be woken up at all, I even thought you were dead"

"Damn it, how could I die before my goal is achieved, what's with these animals anyway?"

Barsmith just shut up and walked past Gorr.

"WOI!!!! Are you deaf? I'm asking here"

"Shut up damn it, be patient I'll answer after breakfast I'm hungry now"

Hearing Barsmith's answer, Gorr was silent, and the three of them walked back to Barsmith's residence. Arriving there they prepared breakfast from the hunt results obtained by Barsmith. While they were eating breakfast Barsmith asked Gorr.

"Hey Gorr do you know what mana is?"

"No, I've never heard of it, what is it?

Hearing Gorr's answer Barsmith took the sharp wood used for campfires and cut down a nearby tree. "SLASH" the tree was cut into two pieces.

"This is mana, a source of power that exists in every living thing and can be manipulated at will depending on the user".

Barsmith explained what technique he used to split the tree, Barsmith said that the technique he had just used consumed mana. Gorr became very surprised after seeing Barsmith managed to cut a tree using only a piece of wood. He then asked Barsmith

"So is mana used to strengthen an attack?"

"That is one use of mana, but besides that mana can also be used to create some elements, the fire mage who attacked your village used the mana in his body to create fire."

Hearing Barsmith mention the masked man who attacked his village Gorr's face became very serious, he wondered how he could fight someone who could use mana, while he now only knew about mana. Barsmith explained that the creature that attacked Gorr last night, the Tree of the Doom, is a creature that uses mana as one of its food sources.

"So, do I have mana in me? "Gorr felt very happy because he felt that he had a source of mana power even though it had not been honed.

"No, the Orc Race does not have mana power"

"But, you said that all living things can have mana and can use techniques that consume mana"

"Yes, but Orcs are an exception let me tell you about the races in this world"

Barsmith began to explain to Gorr about the races that exist in this world. Many races coexist each race has their own privileges, of the various races that exist there are three races with the largest number of the three races are the Human race, Orcs, and Elves. The first Human race The race of Barsmith, is the weakest race among all races The physical abilities of the human race are very weak compared to other races, the mana control of the human race is also not much, but because of the intelligence and imagination of the human race, they compete with other races. They use the intelligence of mankind to make weapons for them to use in battle, while they use their imagination to create new techniques that utilize mana to produce maximum destruction power and imagination is used to create magic techniques for mages.

The Gorr race, the Orc race, relies on their strength and endurance, Orcs always hunt and fight using only the makeshift objects they have whether the weapon can last a long time or not orcs don't care at all. Orcs are also inherited with fast regeneration compared to the other two races, this makes them not need to make special potions to heal themselves. But with all the advantages they have, there is no history of orcs using mana in their attacks, so everyone concludes that orcs do not have a source of mana power within them. Even if they had a source of mana power they would not be patient enough to control which mana to use, because orcs are always fiery in the face of battle. Even so they are very confident that they can fight anyone in front of them, the reason? because they are very strong.

The last is the Elf Race, the elf race has the best mana control among other races, in addition to their extraordinary mana control the elves also rely on their agility in battle this makes them very difficult to catch in battle. The imagination of the elven race is not as good as the human race but because of their extraordinary mana control, they can use mana as easily as exhaling.

"Once upon a time the three races lived side by side but somehow a big war between the three races broke out and caused the number of the Orc Race to decrease drastically".

Barsmith ended his story, Gorr who was watching Nampak was still confused by what Barsmith said.

"I don't understand at all can you simplify it again Barsmith?"

"Hahhhhhh. Well the point is you can only use power not mana"

"Then why did that damn tree attack me yesterday?"

Barsmith pointed at the necklace left by Gorr's father.

"That necklace has a large mana capacity, the Tree of the doom probably sensed a large amount of mana from the necklace"

Gorr began to understand what Barsmith said, it turns out that behind the great power he has there is an equally great weakness. His inability to use mana will have a huge impact in the future. Seeing the look on Gorr's face that looked upset, Barsmith tried to calm him down.

"Don't worry, even without using mana, the orcs can release very dangerous techniques with their power?"

 "Oh yeah? How?"

Gorr asked with a happy and curious expression.

"Physical exercise!!! lift that rock over there 1000 times morning and evening, then practice swinging the Tree 1000 times every day as well"

"What? That's all? Come on, isn't there anything else I can do?"

Hearing Gorr complain, Barsmith's anger peaked, causing him to shout

"You want to get your revenge don't you? Do you think you can fight him with your limited strength, on the way there you will definitely encounter many strong enemies. If it's only this much you will definitely die before dealing with that witch"

Hearing the words of the Barsmith Gorr was silent, he could not deny the words of the barsmith even though he could maximize his current strength, but the original strength he had was still not able to fight the masked sip ria that wiped out his village. The look in Gorr's eyes changed as he really wanted to increase his physical strength. Gorr also approached the barsmith

"Barsmith I'm sorry, is there anything else I should do to make me strong?"

Barsmith looked at Gorr, and without a word out of his mouth he attacked Gorr with his fist. "GHUAAAAKKKK!!!" Gorr was in pain from Barsmith's attack.

"What the hell? I know I'm wrong but why attack me all of a sudden?"

"You asked if there was any other training you should do, right? There is, let's improve your physical endurance."

Gorr's physical endurance is indeed very weak when compared to ordinary Orcs, in general Orcs will experience injuries but they rarely feel pain from the injuries they get this is because of their strength in enduring pain and their fast regeneration. Gorr may have that regeneration ability, but he still often feels pain when he receives an attack. Seeing Gorr in pain Barsmith asked

"Look, you're still in pain when attacked, aren't you?"

"UUghhhhh. Of course stupid, who wouldn't be in pain after being attacked like that?"

Gorr replied while holding his stomach which was attacked by Barsmith. Seeing this, Barsmith kicked Gorr.

"Orcs have incredible endurance, they can't feel pain and you're in pain just from this attack?"

Barsmith said while continuing to attack Gorr with strong attacks, now Gorr had a very serious problem.

"If only I hadn't blabbed when he told me to do physical training maybe this wouldn't have happened" That was the content of Gorr's thoughts at this time, Barsmith's relentless attacks did not stop, until finally he launched a powerful attack that made Gorr bounce off the ground

"Let's build up your endurance today, asshole"

Barsmith said with a smile, a very scary smile. In Gorr's eyes it was a demonic smile. Hearing Barsmith's words Gorr shouted

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"
