Chereads / Journey Of The Last Orc / Chapter 10 - After Long Training

Chapter 10 - After Long Training

The bright atmosphere of this morning became even more special for Gorr. He had received a new axe that would accompany his journey. Plus, Barsmith had taught him a technique used by Orcs in the past. Thinking about the technique, Gorr remembered yesterday's encounter with Bearstangh, a truly monstrous creature with incredible strength. It was even able to use a technique that Gorr hadn't mastered perfectly yet. Unaware, Barsmith approached him and sat beside him.

"Why do you look so gloomy?" Gorr was slightly surprised by Barsmith's sudden arrival.

"That creature yesterday, how could it use that technique?"

"Bearstangh? Well, essentially your technique involves focusing your power and then releasing it to its maximum, resulting in an extraordinary attack."

"And then?"

"Bearstangh is a creature with extraordinary strength, especially the Bearstangh you faced yesterday, the guardian of the waterfall. It's not surprising that it could use the technique well."

Gorr listened carefully to Barsmith's explanation. Just a few days out of his village, Gorr had encountered various creatures with incredible strength. Around him were Barsmith and Gourmeth, whom Gorr had never defeated. Feeling that the power he currently possessed was still insufficient, Gorr stood up from his resting place. Barsmith only watched his student's behavior.

"Where are you going?"

"To practice. I want to become even stronger."

Barsmith smiled at Gorr's answer. Meanwhile, Gorr began his training for the day, lifting the usual stone he used and starting his exercises. Barsmith left Gorr, who was training, and entered the forest.

---

In the dense forest, Barsmith was feeding the birds as usual. Other mammals also joined when Barsmith brought food to them. As Barsmith was busy feeding the animals, someone emerged from the bushes and greeted Barsmith.

"Long time no see, Old man. How are you?"

An old man approached Barsmith from the bushes. Seeing the old man, Barsmith felt relieved and smiled.

"Who are you calling old man? Can't you see your own white hair? You're also an old man."

"It's just my appearance aging, you know?"

"Whatever you say. What brings you here, Theo?"

"Just wanted to see my friend."

There was a moment of silence, then they walked side by side into the forest. They didn't say anything until they reached a high cliff, above which lay the ruins of the village of Arcxala. In the silence, Barsmith spoke to Theo.

"You seem to have received my message."

"Even though we hid the orcs there. But it seems they could detect the existence of the Orc Village. It's a pity that the Orc race's presence has now disappeared."

"There's still one person alive."

"What?"

That statement surprised Theo greatly. From such a terrible tragedy, there seemed to be one survivor. Barsmith invited Theo to peek at where he lived. From the forest, Theo and Barsmith watched Gorr practicing. Gorr swung his axe to cut a distant tree, repeating the action several times but without success.

"So he's the one left from that tragedy?"

"Compared to that person, he's still very weak. He'll be here for the next few months. When I think he's learned enough, he'll leave this forest. Until then, don't let anyone know about him."

"you can trust me with that, old man."

After their conversation, they both disappeared into the trees of the forest. As evening fell, Barsmith returned from the forest with hunted animals. At the place, Gorr was seen lying down from exhaustion. Barsmith approached Gorr and saw the wood he had tried to cut, noticing the scratches on it. Barsmith looked proud of Gorr's achievement and let Gorr sleep until dinner time.

---

Three months had passed, and in the forest, the screams of a man could be heard. It was Gorr using his Scream of Pain. He used it to make hunting easier, and after getting what he was looking for, he returned to Barsmith's residence. There, Barsmith and Gourmeth had prepared a fire and stove for cooking. From a distance, Gorr shouted, showing his hunt.

"Is the seasoning ready? I brought this for you guys."

"Hurry up, Gorr."

Gorr ran with his catch, only to receive an attack from Barsmith upon arrival. But this time, Gorr didn't react even though he was attacked by Barsmith.

"Are you using the Scream of Pain again?"

"I'm sorry, I used it to train the technique."

"Alright, just don't use it again in the forest."

It had been three months, Gorr had trained his strength and physical endurance. Every day he lifted stones, and every day he was beaten by Barsmith, which greatly increased his endurance and physical strength. Barsmith, seeing Gorr's growth, was very proud. He had taught Gorr many things, and now the orc was ready to write his story. "Alright, let's eat," Gorr was very happy because the food was ready. They now enjoyed the prepared meal.

Outside the Forbidden Forest, a group of humans was seen building a camp. They gathered as if they were planning something. One of them stood out with striking equipment. Wearing a black cloak and sharp eyes, this was clearly the leader of the group. When all their group had gathered, the boss started his speech.

"Next to us lies the path to the Forbidden Forest, where many rare animals and valuable materials are found. And not far from here, to the south, lies a small village with minimal protection. Our plan is to conquer that village and make it a storage place for our hunts. Today we will split into two teams: one team will spy on the village, and the other team and I will patrol the forest."

After the leader finished his speech, they cheered to raise their spirits. It turned out they were a criminal group planning to operate by illegal hunting and raiding villages.

----

Evening came, and Gorr was sitting, reminiscing about the training he had undergone. For three months, he had trained the techniques taught by Barsmith, and now he had mastered all three. Sometimes, Gorr also sat above the fire, enduring the heat so that when he met the masked man, he could withstand the heat of the fire the man used. Shortly after, Gorr decided to roam the forest; now he was free to roam because he could face all the creatures there.

On the other hand, the criminals had also entered the forest, checking the terrain while leaving traces. Not long after, Gorr and the criminals met. The criminals were very surprised to see an Orc before them.

"Shit, it's an Orc. Why is there an Orc here?" said the leader of the group.

Gorr, who was seeing humans other than Barsmith for the first time, was equally surprised. He didn't know what the humans were looking for in this place.

"Why are you here? Do you want to meet Barsmith?"

"No, no, we're just lost (Who the hell Barsmith?)"

"Oh, you'd better leave here quickly. Wolfrungs like to hunt at night."

The criminals were not afraid of Wolfrungs at all, they were afraid of the Orc in front of them. Tremblingly, they bid farewell and fled from Gorr.

"Damn it, that an Orc. Forget about the Forbidden Fores let's just raid that village."

They all agreed with their leader's words, although they were strong, they were just four, it's too weak to fight against orc. The rest of the group's task was to monitor the village they were going to raid.

Gorr had arrived at Barsmith's place, telling the old man everything that had happened. Hearing Gorr's words, Barsmith was very surprised, then his expression turned very angry. Barsmith informed Gorr that the humans he encountered were criminals. Fortunately, they didn't exploit Gorr to do bad things. Barsmith advised Gorr.

"Gorr, don't trust humans easily. See what they will do. You represent the image of the Orc nation don't ruin it."

"Alright, I understand, Barsmith."

"Tomorrow, you will start your journey, just take a rest ."

Finally, the time had come. It was time for Gorr to leave the Forbidden Forest with all the lessons he had learned from Barsmith, now He was ready to start his journey.

At the same time, in the palace filled with darkness, the masked man approached his colleague.

"It's been three months, it's time for you to enter the battlefield."

Hearing those words, a terrifying glare could be seen faintly from the darkness of the room, and the figure spoke vaguely.

"Yeaahhh, let's start the killing."
