Chapter 34 - 1U0

The Capital City of Lumen known as the heart of the Holy Empire of Lumenasia consisted of five (5) distinct districts, which partially determined a citizen's societal status and lifestyle.

These districts were officially known as the Order District (Northern District) where the main base of the Holy Order was stationed; the Entertainment District (Eastern District), which was the home for both nobles and commoners alike when it comes to spending leisure time due to the variety of entertainment it offers; Noble District (Western District), not because every noble resides in this particular part of the capital city, instead, it's a place known for the convention of nobility, especially if there's an event similar to a banquet; Filth District (Southern District), the abode of people that could be said to be worse than commoners with honorable living; and lastly, Lumen District, the place that harbored the towering palace of the Royal Family, Main Church of the Lumen Goddess officially known as the Holy Light Cathedral, and the centralized school named "Academy of Theocracy."

With these being said, the lone demonic mutant, Moly, found herself in the base of the Shadow Guild located in the underground of the southern district. Facing a woman in a gothic black dress, she then opened her mouth, "I'd like to know the process of how to open a guild, ah, no, an agency of sorts. Grey also said to come here; he also mentions that you know him."

Hearing this, Borax Doranfell's closest confidant scrutinized this seemingly clueless Vampire, "Are you being serious? He should have gone to the Merchant Guild for such a simple query, don't you think so, Moly?"

'She really knows who I am!' Moly thought, recalling Grey's remark before this task was approached.

"You probably heard of the Shadow Guild. They know me… and you, so don't worry about anything. Just do what I ask you to."

Even Moly, as someone close to the former Vice-Guildmaster of the Blood Clan, was aware of such processes in terms of founding an agency, something that was different from a guild. However, despite being ignorant of Grey's reasoning why he wanted her to do these things, she couldn't help but comply.

"Ah! H-he said it's my first job as his soon-to-be secretary. Hehe. My bad! I'll relay this to him."

'Secretary?' Rana pondered, remembering the virtual convention of executives of the Shadow Guild where Borax asked one of them to infiltrate this soon-to-be-founded agency specializing in information provision.

'Did he perhaps catch to us that we would try to plant a mole?'

"Anyway, this is the payment for courtesy, Miss Rana." She proceeded to throw a pouch of gold, which was more than enough of a payment for asking such a civil question. Just as Moly was about to leave, Rana cut her off.

"Stop right there."

Standing still, Moly's crimson eyes fixated on her, who was sitting at the desk. Receiving the former's questioning gaze, Rana said, "Where did Grey get this money? We are aware that you were helping him in the subjugation of individuals behind the [Kill List]."

"Um…" Moly paused, tapping her right cheek as though she was contemplating. "About that, Grey said it's from the spoils of war."

"Spoils of war?" Rana looked at her suspiciously.

Noticing this, Moly waved her hands in denial, "I-I don't know anything! That's just what he said, okay?"

"I see. How about the bodies of the ones in the [Kill List]? Where did they go? You know that proof of death is a must for the corresponding bounty to be collected." She tapped the desk gently while waiting for this woman's answer.

"About that, Grey wants anonymity. It's because there's a possibility that the commissioners of the mission will look for him. After all, who wouldn't want to know the face of the one who killed the Vice-Guildmaster of the Blood Clan, and the others, right?"

'This woman's crafty… and quite a pathological liar.' Rana thought. Knowing Grey's demeanor, it's possible that he didn't even care about such a thing, though it's only a possibility since even the Guild Master couldn't get a grasp of his mind.

"You're right. In fact, we've been receiving queries not only from the respective commissioners of the bounties but also from the other guilds." Rana said.

"I'll inform Grey," Moly said. "Anyway, if there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."

"All right. Send my regards."

Moly slightly lowered her head. Just as she was about to leave, she paused before saying, "Ah! Grey also said this: 'I need two secretaries! Ask the Shadow Guild if they could recommend someone with an appropriate skillset.'

Rana remained silent. However, gazing at Moly's back who was leaving the Shadow Guild's premises, at least the one available for the public to see, she muttered, "Grey…

"That man, is she perhaps aware of the Guild Master's plan? If so, is this a provocation? Or just a showcase of cognitive ability?"

Anon Oriken Spacecraft.

After some time since the review of the [Undead of Light Project], standing in front of the holographic screens where the different internal operations simultaneously happening within the spacecraft were being monitored, Grey commanded the Extraterrestrial System.

"Krishnaya, open the [Fated Path] and synchronize it to the main projected screen."

Normally, the contents of the Extraterrestrial System were something that Grey only could see. However, because this system's manifestation was nearing its maximum percentage, a certain function within the [Alien Archive: Operational Dimension] was unlocked.

Ding!

[Activating "Knowledge Synchronization."]

[Synchronizing the Host's desired system information to the Anon Oriken's main projected screen… Processing!]

[Anon Folder: Fated Path has been successfully synchronized!]

[You can now view its contents on a wide scale.]

At that moment, the light blue hologram panel wobbled to static, proceeding to change its structure. For Grey, this process was similar to his old life whenever he was watching a hacker doing his or her stuff, especially in a sci-fi world.

After the bunch of 0s and 1s had been finalized, a single folder with a [Anon] symbol, which depicted a parabolic symbol (U) with 1 over its central point and 0 under, separating both numbers.

"That's a strange mathematics," Grey muttered. "Anyway, let's see it thoroughly."

With the swipe of his hands, these holographic panels were being moved.

Opening the specified Anon Folder that was peculiarly within the Extraterrestrial System without her own knowledge of "how" and "why", Grey began inspecting the subfolders stored within, which included but not limited to [Progressive Missions], [Anon Scientist's Biology], and [Void Dimension].

However, just as Grey was about to open the file that seemed to tell him the possibility of the lost Demon Queen's location, the entire spacecraft echoed with a red warning.

Woong!

Woong!

"Krishnaya, what's happening?"

[Master, there is an incoming projectile traveling at the speed of sound!]

"Wh-what? Are we the target? But how?! Damn it!"

An unexpected attack from somewhere caused Grey's composure to shake.

[Estimated Time of Impact: 5 minutes]

[Master, it seems to be some sort of Light Manipulation Spell in the form of a sword.]

Grey fell silent. Breathing deeply, he then shouted,

"Find out everything for now and prepare for countermeasure!"
