Chapter 35 - Vibration Level

In this world of Magica inhabited by the diversity of existence, Grey as an unidentified alien race possessed a sole advantage over the other races, which partially negated the rank of one's Soul Core – Vibration Level.

The idea behind this fraudulent stat was the measurement of frequency and vibration of hypothetically infinite dimensions. Everyone's perception could be classified based on the level of frequency, that's why some individuals claimed to see spiritual beings existing in different dimensions such as ghosts, which even on Earth was arguably evident.

With this in mind, even though everyone had their own vibration level, Grey's existence was a criminal in itself. After all, the Vibration Level stat included in his [Status Window] was the limit of his perception… that he was able to control based on his own will.

Aside from this, as the Host of the Extraterrestrial System, the Vibration Level of anything that was perceived as alien objects or influenced by them such as the Anoboids could also be manipulated according to his will alone.

According to the [Alien Archive], a Vibration Level of 50 indicated that whatever it might be, whether it's a person, an object, or an immaterial spell, could interact with but not limited to wraiths—a type of high-level spiritual undead found in some of the dungeons or labyrinths themed with death.

Watching the direction from where the attack would arrive from, Grey heard Krishnaya's feminine voice,

[Master, shall we begin with the adjustment of the Vibration Level?]

"Yes, let's begin. Also, if it's possible, track the trajectory of the attack."

[Yes, Master.]

Ding!

[The Vibration Level of the Anon Oriken will be adjusted… Processing!]

[Adjustment complete!]

[Anon Oriken Vibration Level: 1,000 to 100]

If there's one truth regarding the current circumstances, it's that the Anon Oriken, even if it's the main target based on the attack's trajectory, would not be hit by the Luminous Princess' Divine Skill: Piercing Light. However, the same thing could not be said of what's down below, where the hundreds of thriving evolved Crabs of Dim Waters were continuing with their mundane life.

That's why, to avoid the ruination of the Alien Village, the Extraterrestrial System suggested lowering the spacecraft's Vibration Level, to at least twice the frequency of the incoming spell-imbued weapon, which still remained to the margin of mundane perception.

Seeing the adjustment of the Vibration Level, tolerating the spacecraft to "tank" the attack, Grey then said,

"Krishnaya, transport me outside in the center of the Anon Oriken. We will strike back."

With his command, Grey arrived at the top of the 2-kilometer-in-diameter flying disc. His existence was not affected by the extreme turbulence because his Vibration Level indicated that he and the said cold winds up in the sky could not interact with each other. In other words, he became similar to a spiritual being, unaffected of any object with lower levels of vibration.

Transforming back to his original self, to a monstrous, lofty, and exoskeleton alien body with azure eyes, the Extraterrestrial System's voice echoed in his head,

[Master, the attack will arrive in one minute.]

[Origin Point of the Divine Skill: Piercing Light's trajectory will be analyzed… Processing!]

[Trajectory's Origin Point analysis… Complete!]

[Origin Point: Entertainment District of the Capital City of Lumen, Holy Empire of Lumenasia.]

Hearing such words from the Extraterrestrial System, Grey couldn't help but frown. It seemed he almost instantly guessed how this attack was coming from that certain point.

"Were the traces of Pillar Beam detected? Whoever it is, that's a damn monster."

[Master, the attack will arrive in thirty seconds. Choose the desired countermeasure.]

"Krishnaya, according to the automatically gathered information about the people in the Entertainment District where we kidnapped Father Arnein, can you lock on those with stone hearts, secretly committing crimes, or those who just cannot repent for their grave sins against the innocents?"

[Yes, Master.]

Because the magical satellite had yet to finish its creation, Krishnaya opted to utilize the currently available functions of the Anon Oriken.

"Get ready," Grey said coldly, retrieving the Anon Spell Blade from his spatial storage.

In less than ten seconds, as the sword of light was tearing the air apart with the aim to strike its intended target, multiple holographic panels were being projected on the Host's Headquarters even without its sole host.

Boom!

It was deceptive from the onlookers. It was as though a miniature sun was summoned from a void, from the broken fabric of nothingness, as the two swords; one emanating a grey aura, and the other with divinity, clashed against themselves.

[Anon Spell Blade Vibration Level is set to 100!]

The Anon Spell Blade wobbled to blurriness, its entire body, from its delicate handle to the sharp blade, intensified and burst with a grey aura.

On the other hand, Grey's left hand transformed into a scythe – the reminiscence of what had killed him on Earth. He then coiled his left hand to the sword. Knowing his subconscious mind, the system echoed.

[Alien Skill: Dorumiya Scythe Arts, First Technique: Spread of Death!]

The grey aura spread and started to pervade through the golden light.

[Knight Steel Sword imbued with true divine power is being consumed to the border of another dimension!]

What's more, to its trajectory, an extreme wave of Oriforce was released. It would travel thousands of kilometers and reach the Origin Point.

But if there's a difference, this counterattack had an altered vibration, making it only affect the intended target per the host's will.

Parrying the steel sword, Grey then screamed.

"RUAAAAAHH!!!"

[The true divine power that bathes the Knight Steel Sword diminishes to another dimension.]

Similar to a baseball bat hitting the ball, now imbued with Anon aura, the steel sword was flung and sent back perfectly following the initial trajectory.

Boom!

A sonic boom as the clouds were split like a sea reverberated through the Dark Lands.
