Luckily, we didn't have classes today(it was a Saturday)so we all just kinda hung out in the commons area and the kitchen. Actually, I was sitting on the counter in the kitchen, wearing a black tank top, and matching gym shorts. I had also thrown on my slippers, which were actually midnight blue. Oh, my God, I like colors other than black? How shocking! The horror! Ahem, but anyway, I was sitting there to watch the others as they talked and laughed. Currently, Connor was in the bathroom, so that's why he wasn't seen in the kitchen or the commons area. A few seconds later, I got out my phone, and turned on the news for today, keeping it at a low enough volume to where I could hear it, but no one else could. "And today, it's said to be sunny. It's currently 65 degrees outside, not too hot, but not too cold either. Later in the night, there will be light rain showers, and possible thunderstorms. Through the week, all days will be sunny, and all nights will be a bit stormy, so make sure you have an umbrella if you're staying out late. And that's all on the weather, so I am gonna pass this off to Ms. Wang." On the screen, the man that had been reporting the weather was now replaced with the news reporter, Wang, who was a lady that looked to be in her twenties, had fair skin, black hair, and blue eyes. "Thank you, Mr. Kai, and let's get into it. Recently, there's been a small little parade downtown, and that went off without a hitch. It was also quite popular, too. Big crowds, lots of food stalls, and some merchandise being sold. I went there myself, and it was fantastic. Moving on from that, there's been a bit of suspicious activity seen by a civilian-whose name we will not divulge, for security and privacy reasons-and it was over by the alleyway between the figurine shop, and Cozy Cafe. It's been said that this man here-" Wang pointed to the left corner, where a picture of a man could be seen. I scanned his face closely, committing it to memory. In this picture, he was half covered in shadows, since he was halfway into the alley, but he had tannish skin, brown hair, gray eyes, and some tattoos could be seen peeking through the sleeve of his dark jacket. But I noticed something. He seemed to be placing a hand on something that only reached up to his knee, but it was covered in shadows, not letting me get a good look at it. But I could just barely make out an outline, and that outline....oh, holy shit. That outline was one of a toddler, clear and bright as day. "-Has been seen going in and out of that alley, his hand rested on something that looks to be a toddler, based off the height of it, and the outline that can be seen if you look closely. Police are investigating, but so far, they haven't found anything. We will continue to update on this situation, but for now, that is all." I paused the news, and looked up, seeing that Connor was coming back. He seemed to be in a cheery mood, but I had to tell him. No way could I keep this secret, especially since it could be a villain, and that toddler could be in major danger. He stopped in front of me, resting his hands on my thighs, and I spoke up. "So, I was watching the news just now. And somethings wrong." He raised an eyebrow, his head cocked to the side slightly out of concern. "Do continue, I'm listening." I then relayed what I had heard on the news. His expression fell slightly, and darkened a little. "We can't let this go by unnoticed. If that toddler really is in trouble, and that man really is a villain of sorts..." I nodded in agreement. "Which is why we should inform Ms. Violet. She'll know what to do."

Minutes later, Connor and I were in front of the door that led to Ms. Violets office, hand in hand. I took a breath, preparing myself, before knocking on the door. A second later, a muffled "Come in," could be heard. I opened the door, and led Connor inside, letting him shut it before going over to stand in front of our teachers desk. She looked up at us from some papers she'd been working on. "Can I help you two with something?" We then took turns in telling what I had heard on the news, and I even played it back to show her. "Hmm....it honestly isn't good, at the very least. And we can't just ignore that, really..." "No, we can't. As future heroes, it's our job to protect those in need. And I get the feeling this toddler is in need." I spoke up, and Connor nodded. "What Shelby said. That toddler could be in more danger than we realize. And if we sit by, who's to say how things will turn out?" Ms. Violet thought for a minute, lacing her fingers together and resting her elbows on the desk, staring intensely at the floor. "The best I can do is call a staff meeting and relay the information. From then on, we will decide what we will do about all this. Keep your phones on, because I will update you two and inform the rest of the class as well. Depending on what we will be given permission to do, we will need all hands on deck."

Now, we were back in the commons area, and the others had been informed rather quickly. They kept talking about it-discussing their own plans, praying the toddler was safe. But, for now, all we could do was wait.
