Elizabeth had been right. We were working with the heroes we'd chosen. And we were going their on our own. No supervision. So, I packed my hero suit, and met Connor outside the building. Unfortunately, we had to go in different directions. But I could live. We shared a kiss, and hugged each other, then said we loved each other. Now, I was driving my bike to the coordinates given to me. I got to my destination about two hours later. A tall building, made of brick, with windows here and there. I took a breath, and kept my helmet on, going inside. I was actually kinda nervous. I had put down my favorite hero. And I was meeting them. Right now. Anyway, I knocked on the door. One of her sidekicks, who had some fish features, answered the door. I thanked her, and asked where her boss was. "Oh, she's up in her office. I can take you there. You are the university student, right?" "Yes. The names Shelby." "Sapphire. Now, follow me."

"Ah, my newest intern. Shelby Lee!" I shook the heroes hand. "I'm sure you know me, but I'll say it anyway. I'm Misty." "Its so nice to meet you, your my favorite hero. I just-you do amazing work and make an awesome female lead." "You are too kind! I saw in the papers that you can control the dead?" "I can. But I can also control shadows, teleport using shadows, make spikes of Sygain iron appear, and control bones, so it's a lot to keep up with." I told her, looking her over. Misty was wearing a red jumpsuit, and black boots, which complimented her black eyeshadow. Her hair was a mess of colored ringlets, almost like someone had used abstract painting on it. Her eyes were a beautiful, glowing blue, which made her dark skin stand out. "Oh, I'm going to just love you, I already know." She told me, smiling. She's so kind and awesome, I can't believe it. She's an amazing person. And her power is awesome! She's a bloodbender. I wonder how useful that is during fights. "Let me lead you to your room, and then we can patrol, Shelby. Or, do I call you the Skeleton Queen?" We started walking down the hallway. "Shelby, if you don't mind, Ms...uh..." She laughed joyfully. "Call me Misty. But be sure to call me Bloodrush when we do hero work." "I will. Thank you for letting me train under you." "Anytime! Oh, here we are. Get settled, change, and then meet me outside-woah!" I took off my helmet, and she stared at me, so I raised an eyebrow. "Um, is something wrong?" I undid my bun, and she smiled. "No-I just-I love your hair, Shelby." Oh. Um. I'm not used to compliments like that. No one's ever said anything about it. "Oh-um, thank you! I'll see you outside?" She nodded, and left, so I locked my door, and changed into my hero costume. The only furniture in my new room was a bed, a dresser with a mirror, and a chair hanging from the ceiling, right next to a bookshelf full of, well, books and a few collectibles. My phone buzzed. I looked at it. Wait-it was from Connor! I opened it. Hey, babe, how's it going? I smiled. Jeez, I loved him. Good so far. About to go patrol. How about you? I sent the text. I'm good. And we're already patrolling, see? He sent me a picture of him holding up a piece sign, wearing a mask, and his suit. Behind him, there was another person, smiling with closed eyes. It was a man, with dark hair, and light skin. He was wearing a long, dull yellow cloak, which had what looked to be real flames licking at its edges. I knew who the hero was. You chose Flamethrower? That's neat! I hit send, and made my way out the door. Yeah. Who did you chose? He asked. I chose the female hero Bloodrush. I climbed down the stairs. Isn't she the one who can control a person's blood? I smiled. Someone had brushed up on their heroes. Yup! She's such an amazing person. Anyway, I got to go patrol, mi amor. I love you. He told me he loved me too and then the patrol begun.
