Chereads / Who Will Fall First? / Chapter 13 - 13

Chapter 13 - 13

I tried to climb out, but with my possibly broken ankle, it just wouldn't work. "Its fine, I can try and teleport out of here." I closed my eyes, picturing the rest of the gym--specifically, the entrance. And, in less than a minute, I had made it. I sat the dummy down, and untied my scarf, then looked around. Villains were attacking every rescue sight, and the students were trying to fight back, as well as Ms. Violet, but it wasn't really looking too good. They needed someone powerful enough to even the odds. And, while I wasn't that person at all, I jumped over the railing, and rolled on the ground, then came up kneeling. I touched my ear piece as I stood, ignoring the pain in my ankle. "What's the status of everyone so far?" I then wrapped my scarf, tightly, around my ankle, securing the broken bone for now. "The Sinking Ship rescue area seems to have it the worst right now." Ms. Violet answered. I almost panicked. My friend was over there. But I had to stay cool. "Listen to me: I'm going to summon an army of skeletons, and once I do, the ground is going to shake. And, depending on how big of an army, I might pass out." "Elizabeth, Connor, find Shelby, and protect her if she passes out. I have no doubt your teammates can handle themselves. Shelby, promise me you will not go over your limit." "I can't promise that, but I can promise to try." "That's good enough. Don't summon the army until your friends get there." Then, she signed off, and I crouched, placing my hands on the ground, waiting. Footsteps sounded behind me, and I turned, relieved to find Elizabeth, but not really relieved to find Connor, running towards me. They took up positions in front of and behind me. "Thanks, you guys. Now, hold on, things are about to get messy." I closed my eyes, and focused, searching the ground. I found an army that would outnumber the villains. And, thankfully, it wouldn't put me past my limit. I willed them to rise, and the ground shook, then cracks appeared in the ground. Skeletons started to crawl out, and I willed them to attack the enemy forces only, then stood, not putting much pressure on my bad ankle."Are you good?" Elizabeth asked, lighting her hands up. "Yes. Connor, just so I know, what's your power?" "I can use and combine different elements together. Like, say I mixed fire and air. That would make some new element. Or say I-" "Yeah, I got it, smart-ass. And I've got a plan to gather the villains in one place." I told them, and they agreed to use it, then we set to work until they were all in the middle of the gym. "Connor, I want you to create a ring of fire, ok? I'll will the skeletons to circle around the fire in case any villain breaks free." And that's what we did. What happened next was almost unbelievable. The best of the best heroes showed up.
