Jack shot forward, his body a streak of golden light as he blasted into the space crack. Carol had given him an opening, but the sea of symbiotes was far from done. The asteroid she had thrown tore through the swarm, scattering them like broken glass, but the creatures were relentless, quickly regrouping and surging toward him.
"Time to make this count," Jack muttered to himself, gritting his teeth. His energy reserves were already starting to drain in the thin energy field of the crack, but he couldn't afford to hold back now.
The symbiote horde rushed at him, a writhing mass of black tendrils, claws, and teeth, desperate to stop him from reaching the High Evolutionary's base. Jack's fists flared with energy, and he tore through them like a comet, incinerating anything that dared to come close.
He moved with precision, blasting holes through the symbiotes with well-placed energy beams and punches, but their numbers were overwhelming. For every symbiote he destroyed, ten more took its place, clawing and biting at him from every angle. His golden light dimmed ever so slightly, the strain of battle beginning to weigh on him.
"Carol, I need you to keep them off me for just a bit longer!" Jack yelled into his comms, blasting another swarm apart.
"I'm doing what I can," Carol's voice came through, strained but steady. "But this horde is endless! We need to get to the source, and fast!"
Jack's eyes locked onto the distant planet where the High Evolutionary's base was hidden. If they could take out the base, the symbiote horde would fall apart, their connection severed. But the problem was getting there before his energy ran out. He couldn't afford to keep burning through his power like this.
"Just a bit more..." Jack muttered under his breath. He clenched his fists, gathering what remained of his cosmic energy. He shot forward again, faster than before, weaving between the waves of symbiotes as they clawed at him.
Suddenly, a massive figure appeared in front of him—a colossal symbiote, easily the size of a building. Its massive, twisted form blocked his path, its grotesque face leering down at him with glowing red eyes. Its claws were the size of ships, and it let out a deafening roar that shook the very fabric of space.
"Not another one of these..." Jack groaned. But there was no time to hesitate. The creature lunged at him, its claws slashing through the void, aiming to tear him apart. "Fine! Since you are here, give me all your energy." He grabbed the creature and almost instantly the symbiote began to spread across his arms and legs. It was different than a usual Klyntar. This one, although had the same ability to bond with living things, it didn't possess a conscience mind to create an internal dialogue. "Power Drain!" He activated one of his skills.
[Power Drain: Drains the target's strength, stamina, speed, and health. Can be used to replenish your or anyone else's stats. Prolong usage might kill the target. The absorbed stats are temporary for others, but you can choose any 1 stat and increase your stat permanently by 1%.]

The giant symbiote screeched, struggling to free itself, but Jack had it under his absolute control. Energy coursed through his body, replenishing his tired limbs and revitalizing him.
"Carol! Take my hand, NOW!" He yelled. His plan was to drain the giant symbiote and regain their lost energy before going together to defeat the High Evolutionary.
Carol flew through the horde and grabbed his hand. Instantly, she felt her power and lost energy surge back, energizing her to new heights. Meanwhile, the giant symbiote shrank slowly as its energy was completely drained by him. Within seconds, it turned into a lifeless husk. Both Jack and Carol regained their energy back.
"Nice!" Carol clenched her fist as her body regained that golden glow.
"Alright, I got a plan. I'll create a shield for 10 seconds. It's indestructible. So, just stick to my back and fly," Jack's body glowed as his form turned into a spherical dome. Inside was him and Carol.
She immediately activated her skill and flew toward the main base. The symbiote army crashed and attacked them, but the shield held on and kept them safe. Their speed was like a blur as they appeared before the main base within 3 seconds.
Carol has already gathered a giant mass of energy.
"DO IT NOW!" Jack screamed.
She threw the giant mass of energy at the base.
"Energy Missiles!" Jack also threw his skill at the base. His energy missiles, enhanced with his cosmic energy became several times more powerful.
The shield around the place failed to withstand the intense energy attacks and shattered. The base exploded violently, showering the atmosphere around with debris. But among the wreckages, the figure of the High Evolutionary rose out in a fiery arc. He floated there, his body clad in a metallic exo-suit and his cybernetic eyes flashing with rage.
"HOW DARE YOU!" He yelled in rage. Energy pulsed and shimmered around him, a vast storm of power drawn from the remains of his destroyed base. "Destroying years of work! You!" He pointed his finger at Jack with a surprised expression. "How in the hell did you obtain that power?"
"Sorry, bud," Jack cracked his knuckles as a large grin formed on his face. His eyes were on the system screen.

'Fucking! Hell! Those are some OP skills. Let's kill this fucker and go home.'
Jack clenched his fists as he activated Deathblow. He blinked before the High Evolutionary and threw a simple punch. "Go to hell and ask the devil for answers."
The High Evolutionary's body began to crumble like glass, turning into thousands of pieces as they disappeared. He didn't even have the time to scream or reply back. He was gone just like that.
"Huh?! Just like that? No flashy explosion, nothing?!" Jack mumbled to himself as he was expecting the deathblow to be big and flashy, but instead, it was the complete opposite of what he expected. It was a simple punch that killed the enemy.
Carol flew beside Jack.
"What did you just do?" She asked him curiously, clearly not having any idea what his skill did.
"Just a simple punch," Jack grinned, but their conversation was cut short when the space crack began to close. With the High Evolutionary gone, the symbiote army stopped moving and returned to a lifeless frozen state. And with no one to control that artificial dimension, it began to crumble. Massive shockwaves swept over the place as cracks began to appear in the space.
"RUN!" Carol yelled. "We'll be stuck in here if that space fissure closes with us inside it."
They quickly made their way to a dimensional tear and shot through the air, racing away from the collapsing reality. Finally, the space fissure closed, creating a brilliant flash of white light that lit up the void, leaving no trace that it had been opened in the first place. Carol and Jack barely flew out of it.
"Well, that was crazy," Carol sighed in relief, taking a moment to catch her breath as they both floated in the empty void of space.
"Hahahaha! That was freaking fun!" Jack laughed out loud.
