Chapter 6 - A Goldmine

[ WELCOME TIME WEAVER]

That marked the final thing he saw before his vision begun to blur. A fierce wind whipped around him, threatening to sweep him along. Along with the wind came dust, a puzzling occurrence since Thria had not seen dust in a century. This left two possibilities: either he had journeyed back in time or he was no longer in Thria. The nigh of horses, caught his attention and brought him back to reality. Then the thunderous galloping of horses as their hooves hit the ground became louder and louder in his ears.

Was he standing in the path of horseriders?

Acting swiftly, he threw himself to the side, narrowly escaping a stampede by horses. That would have been a shit way to die. The sun hung high up in the sky. Somehow it seemed he was in the desert. The heat was unbearable and he could feel his parched throat begging for refreshment from some water. But this was no place to relax. It seemed, that wherever, he was,he'd somehow ended up on a battlefield. The air was thick with the scent of gun powder and the putrid smell of blood. Quickly, Tonny took cover behind a boulder intending to witness the epic battle that was about to unfold. It seemed like a onesided showdown. This was definitely going to be a massacre. This was because, blocking the paths of the horsemen was a lone ranger. He was clad in a green tunic with gold embroidery intricately woven at the neck and cuffs. They glistened in the sun adding to the aura he exuded. He stood like an ummovable mountain. His visage was hidden by a weather-beaten hat, pulled low to cover his features. A palpable air of enigma hung around him. Clad in his hands were two long twin swords. One for each palm. Surprisingly, Tonny felt some sense of familiarity and connection to this mysterious man. Connection or not, he did feel sorry for this guys ass.

"Who brings a sword to a gun fight". Tonny thought

However, the horsemen seemed to be weary of the man. They dismantled, about 15 of them and carefully surrounded the green tunic man who seemed to be in a a daze. Then the command went out Fire!!. Multiple trigers were pulled. It was then that the mysterious man took action. Looking across, the plain, at his enemies with some kind of composure, his iris shone with an ethereal green glow. Then his voice barely coming out as a whisper he said, DECELERATE.

It was as if time had being paused, the bullets stopped moving and hung in the air as if suspended by invisible threads. The horsemen seemed frozen in time. Then the mysterious man, took his action sprinting with his sword drawn, he moved with fluidity and precision, slitting through their throats effortlessly. Time seemed to stand still. Even the blood that was supposed to gush out was halted in its track. And just as quickly as eveything slowed down, the pause that had been put on time was slipped back to play. Then time returned to its normal course. However, one of the horsemen seemed to have managed to survive this tranquil ordeal. Scared shitless out of his mind he begun to flee.

Then with a smirk, weilding the sword like a projectile, another word that held power was issued,ACCELERATE. Then he threw the sword. It seemed to tear through the fabric of space itself for Tonny's eyes could not follow the trajectory of the sword. All he heard was the guttural cry and the fleeing man being impaled to the ground.

"What the fuck", Tonny exclaimed out loud. I really landed myself a goldmine. And just like before, his vision blurred and he was back at Thria. Looking at the panel which was still open and materialized in front of his eyes, he noticed some few changes,
