Can you smell that?" Tonny jeered at Tyler. "It's the scent of revenge, thick in the air. You'll pay for what you did to me. Each one of you."
Baring his fists toward Tyler, Tonny's fury surged, drawing the attention of a nearby teacher who began to approach the two groups to intervene. Sensing the escalating tension, Evelyn quickly pulled Tonny away from the confrontation.
Finding solace on a nearby rock while the bus underwent repairs, Tonny turned to Evelyn with a mixture of curiosity and frustration. "Can you tell me about the Powers?" he asked.
"Of course," Evelyn began. "The world of Eldriada is divided into seven continents, each ruled by a powefull family. In the northern expanse lies Thria, the realm of the Mindseers, masters of the mind and soul. A starless Mindseer possesses formidable mental acuity, while a five-star Visionary can glimpse into the future itself."
"Venturing eastward, we arrive at Voltaria, the domain of the Thunderlords," she continued. "Their mastery over lightning is unrivaled, with the mightiest among them able to harness lightning within their very essence."
"Further north, Myra and Rondus are governed by the Velocitors and Titans respectively," Evelyn elaborated. "The Velocitors' patriarch is rumuored to have moved faster than light itself, wielding sonic waves as weapons. Meanwhile, the Titans boast strength beyond measure, each member possessing the might of ten thousand men."
"The Wale family holds dominion over Aquatica, commanding the elements with finesse, earth, water, fire and air," Evelyn went on. "On Metallia, the Engens manipulate and bend metals to their will. They are mostly engineers. To the far south, in the embrace of the vold winds are the enigmatic Dax family, their Powers remain a mystery." These powers are called Sparks.
"The strength of these Powers is symbolized by the number of stars on one's crown," Evelyn explained. Crowns manifest on the day of ones awakening, like a tatoo on ones arm. "A starless crown denotes basic abilities, while a five-star crown represents extraordinary mastery and the pinnacle of control over ones ability, with each star symbolizing a new level of proficiency and abilities.
"And alongside these families are citizens with unique abilities," she added. "Some can soar through the skies, others manipulate space—each serving as loyal retainers to the main families."
Evelyn paused, a look of concern crossing her face as she turned to Tonny. "I can't believe you weren't aware of this," she said softly.
Tonny shrugged sheepishly. "I'm not usually present in class," he admitted. "And when I am, I tend to doze off."
"But theres one wierd thing though, where did that pendant come from". Evelyn asked Tonny.
"Its a family heirloom. It was the last thing my father gave me before he died, told me to keep it with my life. He must have have known, it was a comet. Then why didnt he use it for himself. Is that why the mafia boss killed him? So many questions.: Tonny said grabbing his head, confused.
Evelyn's expression softened as she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry about your father," she said sincerely.
Tonny nodded, gratitude evident in his eyes. "Thanks," he murmured. "Now, let's see what Powers this pendant holds." With a sense of determination, they prepared to return to school, eager to uncover the secrets hidden within the heirloom.
