Amidst the hues of black and white
Lies the life of Elian, devoid of light
Colorblind from birth, I couldn't see
The vibrant world around me, full of glee
Raised by a womanizing father, cold and cruel
His heart was hardened, a relentless fuel
My mother, sweet and loving, passed away
leaving behind a broken family, in disarray
I, lost in a sea of gray
Longed for the colors were swept away
My mother's love, a memory so dear
Gone too soon, leaving behind tears
A stepmother, bedridden and frail
With three young siblings, their innocence pale
One pure, two half in between
In a house so big, but never felt serene
I longed for something I couldn't name
An emptiness within me, a burning flame
I gazed at the stars, their twinkling light
But yearned for my firefly, to take a flight
A painter without a canvas, lost and alone
Searching for colors, in a world unknown
A life marred by darkness and pain
Searching for colors in a world so plain
And so I waits, for my firefly to appear
To light up my world and make it clear
That even in darkness, there is still hope
For a heart that longs to heal and cope
Elian is my name, with a story so sad
Yet holding on to the love I once had
A star waiting for my firefly to shine
A painter looking for his canvas divine
