In a gallery filled with art so divine
Each piece o display, perfectly designed
Sculpture, paintings, all in shades of gray
Because to me, colors hidden away
As I wandered amongst the crowd
i felt a sense of being lost in a shroud
Blending in, trying to see that they see
but all I saw was gray, no colors free
People marveled at the details so fine
But to me, it all seemed to intertwine
I longed to see the hues and shades
That others saw in the artwork that fades
Then, amidst the quiet chatter and hum
I saw her, standing there so calm
her eyes, like oceans deep and blue
Pulled me in, a sense of something anew
She gazed at my mother's sculpture with intrigue
her eyes sparking a sense of fatigue
I watched as she walked out the door
leaving me longing for something more
Her eyes, like a waves crashing to shore
Left me wanting, longing for more
I followed her outside, but she was gone
Lost in a sea of faces, one by one
But her eyes lingered in my mind
A hint of colors that I couldn't find
in a world so gray and devoid of light
her eyes shone bright, a beacon in the night
I yearned to see her once again
To bask in the colors, to feel the gain
For in her eyes, I saw a world so true
A world of colors, a world so new
So as I stood in the sea of gray
I knew I'd find her again someday
For in a world so devoid of hue
her eyes painted a picture so true
And in that gallery filled with art
I found a piece that touched my heart
For in her eyes, I saw the truth
A world of colors, a world of youth
