When Jean left she felt like it was weird for her to pass out because of mere cold but nevertheless she still ignored the incident when she started feeling ok after a few minutes of rest.
"Let me take a look at this team now that I have nothing on for the rest of the day."
Jean branched towards Felix Limited where she had told everyone to gather. Although she didn't feel anything much, the OH virus that had been dormant for almost 20 years was showing signs of activity. Its stimulant was cold environment in a certain closed state and Grey's cellar happened to meet the conditions.
But our princess didn't have a clue at all and Jaden had just decided to keep it a secret for now.
Actually that virus was a man made virus and was a total rare case as the guy happened to create two samples when one of the herbs needed went extinct all of a sudden. Come to think of it, it was still strange till this day. He was a real psycho of medicine and he may still be but the question is how did Jean get it?
"How could a herb become extinct all of a sudden when it's existence was not that exotic." Grey couldn't get it at all.
"Man, at this rate your head will be bleeding in a few minutes. That incident took place when you were 6 or 7 years probably still playing with grasshoppers."
"Not funny."
James smiled dryly when he got that response, of course him trying to make Grey laugh was wrong from the beginning. He just shrugged his shoulders before looking back at the virus components.
"This version of her virus evolved. It is strong. I really wonder how she has been growing so healthy all these years. It is very strong. It has damaged all the white blood cells that I placed in here a few minutes ago. Unless..."
At this guess, James felt his own heart beat increasing. Grey also suddenly became solemn. "This is bad."
He then left immediately, "You don't even say thank you."
James was left there grumbling on his own. Jean who had stopped in front of Felix Limited felt as if she was being watched. But when she turned to look she saw nothing but cars and random people.
"Was I overthinking it?"
She brushed her ears before stepping towards the parking lot. Her intuition had never been wrong.
"Hey! You are following me?"
Jean appeared out of nowhere and caught the young man off guard. But before she could utter another word, the guy ran away. She was not the kind to let someone to escape just like that. As an expert at catching people, she went after him but who knew the moment she started running her leg would spasm.
"Damn, that is fast. Even faster than princess of running."
She lost him just like that, as she looked again. In deed the feeling of being watched had disappeared. In a low Mercedes a few meters away, a man in black had witnessed all that.
"Carlos drive away."
Jean shook her leg a bit before she entered her dad's company. She was here to meet all the team mates and design work plan.
"Hey guys, you don't have to be so nervous, have seats." Those were her words when she entered the lobby. Everyone was there they were just four guys with Jean totaling to five.
"So everybody, Austin, Joe, Fred and remind me your name peacock..."
That earned a bout of laughter from them as a young man putting all flashy colors scratched his nose. Who the hell puts on orange red and green together? My eyes are going blind.
Those were Jean's thoughts but she didn't voice them, she knew her limits. That would be personal now.
"Flex, is may name."
"Ok, now that I finally I have everyone dressed well. Tomorrow we meet at training arena at 11 o'clock in the morning. Please come smelling nice, I won't do awful smells."
That was it and Jean stood up, it was Austin who finally asked.
"Captain have I ever seen you somewhere?" "Stupid? Did the pink lipstick leave with your brains, whether you met me or... Austin?"
It was after Jean looked at him again that she changed her words, he was familiar to that gay man. "The gay Fella from the club?"
Pffftt!! Joe who was drinking water sprayed it out immediately. "Sorry but Captain since when did you become gay?"
Fella was close to Joe not much but at least he could claim to be familiar with him.
Jean scratched her head awkwardly, she didn't expect to meet such a person in his team. What could she possibly do?
"Yah but you don't have to worry my type is Mr Jaden Grey like some Haw..." luckily she still stopped her words on time but actually Austin almost got the name if he knows the person its on him.
This time it was Flex to be shocked, "You mean you like cold hearted terror man. Even they kill me, not in this life or the next one."
"But don't seduce me I may pounce on you guys." As the typical devil incarnate, she managed to scare them and divert Austin from the name.
"Tomorrow, dressing code, black head to toe."
That was how Jean left,. The moment she stepped out of the building she felt the eyes on her again.
Actually, Grey appearing there the other time was coincidental, but that guy wasn't sent by him. Jean raised her head and nose flared before she started walking down street to a scarce alley behind the industrial area.
Her predator who had turned into a prey didn't disappoint her and before she could them out, they presented themselves.
"Oh I guess the other day was not enough." "Vulture my name. If you wanna know the person who will send you to hell."
Jean ignored the outstretched hand. She smiled this man was a nuisance, "Anyway I'm not surprised. I knew you would come again. No real assassin will accept such mediocre defeat. How did you find me?"
"I accept Miss Jean female general is good at disguise, thanks to your watch I found you."
"Such a nasty baby. Still I guess that defeat was not enough for you to do this."
"You are right, Do you know Black Lolli?"
It just took a second for Jean to shake her head slowly but resolutely.
"Your lost girlfriend?"
If Grey was here, he would have noticed that Jean's eyes were no longer naïve but damn ruthless but of course Vulture just thought Jean was calm. This was a boundary to her sanity and she didn't want it snap.
"I will take my leave, Vulture."
Who knew Vulture would attack, he flashed past in a second. Damn that was a crazy speed but Jean who felt the change in air fluctuations dodged.
They were both stupefied by their own speed, which led to a tacit agreement. Don't fight the losses were not worth it. Anyway, Vulture had confirmed what he wanted.
It seemed like Jean didn't know Black Lolli but did she?
"I don't expect to meet you again." "Not in Phoenix country."
"But Fiery."
That was what Vulture said before he disappeared.
Jean just shook her head before taking out a black lollipop with a warm but distracted smile. The next moment she saw Vulture appear before her again, "Black Lolli?"
Jean smiled brightly before pulling out her lollipop, "My lollipop? Do you have an issue with it?" She had to do this, it wasn't time yet.
"In deed, guess it was a long shot." Finally Vulture left for good. Jean was still smiling but her smile was not so bright. Whether it was from fatigue or something else, she didn't know.
She headed home after changing to her female clothes in a mall.
"I have to tell dad to say Fella is his godson to avoid all this changing on the road, bushes and even malls."
When Jean finally crawled into her bed, she felt like a truck had run down her whole body and the warmth was just so soothing. But her night was bound to be long and restless.
She had so many mixed and crumped dreams. At times she was in a cellar exactly as that one in Grey's office then the next moment she was being pierced by a faceless person and the next moment Grey appeared outside but when she called for help he just didn't turn at all.
The last dream she had was that of a familiar face Vulture with blood on his face as he bade goodbye. Which was the only one she remembered.
"The hell! What was fucking that dream about Vulture, am i supposed to dream about handsome people or sleep?" Blood never bothered Jean because of her profession but why was she tired as if she had undergone an intense brain test?
Stretching her hand, she picked up painkillers and took them as if they were candies.
Can someone tell Jean that pain killers are addictive?
Taking painkillers without prescription can become addictive and dangerous.
Grey who was still in his office at this time was going through another hectic episode. It seemed as if his virus had attacked again due to stimulation or maybe because he thought about it for too long.
Human brain has always been a complex thing, it may make your illusions real and shape your life. Grey may even be ok but because he thought he was having an episode then it became real from an illusion.
"Jaden, this is strange. Your body is clearly ok but you are feeling pain and excessive heat that you need that ice cellar to control it."
James was trying to talk to someone who was treating him as air. Finally when he almost gave up, "I bet you are right, the time for relapse is not here yet. What should I do because the pain is real."
"Ok, close your eyes. Try to tell yourself it is Fella that is sick and not you."
Thanks to his strong willpower, it took them only 10 minutes to get Grey's brain in line.
