Adria launched his sword towards his son, but within a swift motion, Adrien dodged, taking measured steps backwards.
"Wh… Why are you here?" he stammered, his voice laced with disbelief and trepidation. "I thought you were dead. How...how can you be standing here in front of me?" His words hung in the air, a testament to the utter shock and uncertainty that gripped him.
Adria scoffed.
Adrien's father's eyes were pitch-black, soulless, his words delivered in a guttural growl. "You killed me, Adrien," he snarled, a haze of black smoke billowing from his mouth. As the words hung heavy in the air, the golden chains that had shackled his father began to unravel and fall away, each clinking link echoing the accusation that hung between them.
"You stripped me off from my power!" Adria growled in anger. "You killed me."
Adrien instantly began to shake his head sideways in denial.
