Chapter 377 - Chapter 377 Time and Space, the Curtain and the Resurrection Stone

Standing in the centre of the Time Room, Andy felt every cell in his body urging him to get out of there as quickly as possible. An unnamed fear gripped Andy, making him feel very uncomfortable.

But there was no danger here.

Andy forced himself to endure the discomfort and cautiously explored every corner of the room.

'Does the magical world have time-related magic?'

Andy had read many books but had never seen any time-related magic. Andy had even once believed that wizards' magic could not possibly touch the realm of time.

But everything in this room seemed to be telling Andy that wizards had been studying time for a very long time.

'Is it because it is too taboo that there is no time magic in circulation?' Andy wondered.

In his previous life, Andy had watched many movies related to time.

The most famous one was about time travel back to the past.

There are actually two theories about going back to the past.

The first one is the famous time paradox.

If Person A goes back in time and kills his grandmother before she gets married, then there will be no mother, and without a mother, there will be no Person A.

Since Person A does not exist, how can he go back in time and kill his grandmother before she gets married?

The second theory is the theory of parallel universes.

No one can go back to the past of the current universe. What is called time travel is actually just going to a point in time in a parallel universe.

You create a new future there.

The first theory means that the past cannot be changed, while the second theory means that the past can be changed.

'Speaking of time travel...'

Speaking of time travel, Andy couldn't help but think of himself.

This is also Earth, and the history and previous era of this world are almost exactly the same, except for the magic...

To be honest, Andy is not 100% sure whether there was supernatural power like magic in his previous life.

'Maybe magic also existed in the previous world, but it was also hidden in the previous world, so no one knew about it,' Andy thought with his mind running wild.

But none of this matters.

What matters is that the world Andy is in now is just a novel from his previous life.

This is a terrifying realisation!

Andy had never dared to think about this question before, but now, in the Time Room, it came to his mind without any conscious effort – was this world real?

Or, more importantly, how had he ended up here?

Andy had read about a theory before.

The universe had multiple dimensions, and humans lived in three-dimensional space, which was the lowest-dimensional space where lower civilizations could exist.

We could create two-dimensional and one-dimensional spaces, but at the same time, we were also controlled by beings in four-dimensional spaces.

Compared to three-dimensional space, four-dimensional space has an additional time axis. Thanks to this time axis, beings in four-dimensional space can view any point in time in three-dimensional space at will.

It's like flipping to a random page in a novel to read the plot.

From this perspective, whether the world is real or not is not that important.

Because Andy lives here, so everything here is real. For Andy, this is the real world.

'The Space Chamber... If the timeline represents four-dimensional space, then this room is probably not for studying time magic, but for studying higher dimensions.'

Andy drew out his wand and carefully touched the clock in the room.

Hum——

Andy's consciousness was momentarily in a trance as if his brain had been hit hard with a hammer. He felt dizzy and as if he had seen something, but also as if he had seen nothing.

"Hoo..."

Andy quickly retracted his wand as if he had been electrocuted, let out a breath, and shook his head to clear his mind a little.

"...What was that?"

Thanks to his powerful mind, thinking, and willpower, Andy was able to recall something he had just seen when his mind cleared.

It was a point in time in the past.

Andy saw himself!

'Can the power here travel through time?'

Andy was a little shocked.

The wizard's study of magic obviously went beyond the knowledge recorded in textbooks. Even the Hogwarts library could not record all the magic in the wizarding world.

'No wonder the Department of Mysteries' research is kept secret. If these things were to be leaked, I'm afraid it would immediately cause an uproar in the wizarding world?'

'Is there... the truth about the world and dimensions here?'

Andy looked around, and after deliberating for a moment, he decided to leave immediately.

The power of time is too taboo. Until the rules of time are discovered, Andy has no intention of peering into the secrets of time.

To study this stuff, it's best to have a teacher.

Taking a few slow steps backwards, Andy quickly left the Time Room.

Back in the circular room, Andy followed his hunch and opened a black door again.

This was a room the size of half a football field, dimly lit, square in shape, with a sunken centre, forming a huge stone pit about 20 feet deep.

In the centre of the pit was a stone platform, and on top of it stood an archway that looked ancient and tattered.

The archway was not supported by walls on all sides, and only a tattered curtain hung on it. There was no wind, but the curtain on the archway was swaying gently as if someone were touching it.

There was a sound.

Andy felt as if he could hear someone whispering.

But no matter how hard Andy listened, he couldn't make out what the voice was saying.

Andy felt an inexplicable attraction to the curtain, but at the same time, he felt that there was great terror behind it.

This instinctively scared Andy.

It was a very contradictory feeling, attracting Andy while at the same time making him feel fear.

"The Death Chamber!"

A flash of excitement crossed Andy's face at the sight of the curtain over the archway.

'That curtain...'

After finding the Resurrection Stone, Andy read the short story 'The Tale of the Three Brothers' carefully.

In this story, the Resurrection Stone was in the hands of the second brother.

Using the power of the Resurrection Stone, he met the girl he wanted to marry, but had unfortunately died young once again.

But she was pessimistic and distant, as if there was a veil between them. She returned to the world of the living, but she didn't really belong here, and she was in pain.

In the end, the second brother was driven mad by his hopeless longing, and to be with her in the afterlife, he chose to take his own life.

[There seemed to be a veil between them]

Andy had always thought that the 'veil' in the story was just a rhetorical plot device, but when he saw the curtain on the archway...

If this 'veil' is... the same veil?
