Wanting to kill Dumbledore didn't mean that Andy was bound to be his enemy. But if such a possibility arose, the ring would at least be a means of defence in case of an emergency.
The curse on the ring is indeed very powerful!
But now, well ...
Not to mention that Hermione already knew what the ring did, now even Dumbledore himself already knew.
Too bad!
Andy had an innocent look, then he replaced it with a surprised smile, "Professor Dumbledore, Hermione and I found one of Voldemort's Horcruxes and destroyed it."
As if she had thought of something, the smile on Hermione's face faded, and she first took a slightly embarrassed peek at Dumbledore, then glared fiercely at Andy out of the corner of her eye.
The young witch realised that Dumbledore had probably overheard the previous conversation between her and Andy.
That's why the smile never disappears, it only transfers from one person's face to another's.
This is called the law of conservation of energy!
On the contrary, Dumbledore ... the old headmaster did not show any different expression, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes when he heard that Andy and Hermione had destroyed another Horcrux.
Andy pretended that nothing had happened and said with a straight face, "But we've run into a bit of trouble ..."
"The Horcrux has a very evil curse magic on it, in addition to the magic that protects the Horcrux. Neither Hermione nor I have learnt any magic in this field, so there's nothing we can do about it."
After saying that, Andy took out a box from his pocket.
Upon opening the box, a gold ring inlaid with a Resurrection Stone lay in it.
Dumbledore looked down at the gold ring.
When he saw the black gemstone inlaid on the gold ring, his pupils instantly shrunk and his hand hidden in his sleeve twitched slightly.
He recognised the black gemstone.
The Resurrection Stone!
There was no doubt that Dumbledore had greed for the Resurrection Stone.
He didn't think that the Resurrection Stone could really bring the dead back to life, but even if it was just a vision of the soul, Dumbledore wanted to see his sister, Ariana Dumbledore, one more time, and then say to her in person, I'm sorry!
"This is the Resurrection Stone, right?" Andy asked softly but in an affirmative tone.
By now Dumbledore had come back to his senses, or rather, he was only lost in thought for a moment.
He looked at Andy, "You knew about it?"
Andy and Hermione looked at each other.
Dumbledore's words were tantamount to admitting already that the black gem was the Resurrection Stone.
"Truth be told, Professor!"
Andy explained, "Hermione and I found this place precisely by tracking down the news of the Deathly Hallows. As for destroying Voldemort's Horcrux ... that was just an accident."
"The Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Invisibility Cloak ..."
"The Invisibility Cloak is in Harry's hands, and the Resurrection Stone now belongs to Hermione and me!"
Andy directly affirmed the ownership of the Resurrection Stone, and then looked up at Dumbledore and asked, "Professor, if I'm not mistaken, the Elder Wand should be in your hand, right?"
Dumbledore took out his wand.
Since Andy had already guessed that the Elder Wand was in Dumbledore's hand, there was no point in continuing to hide it - because Dumbledore knew very well that Andy was a clever and witty young wizard.
Only one thing Dumbledore was curious about, "Mr Collins, how did you guess that the Elder Wand was in my hands?"
It was to be noted that the information about the Elder Wand had never been leaked out.
More than seventy years ago, the Elder Wand had been in Gregorovitch's hands. It wasn't until Grindelwald stole the Elder Wand from him that the Elder Wand became Grindelwald's wand.
The Elder Wand only changed hands again in 1945 when Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald.
Apart from a few people, no one should know about the Elder Wand - not even Mrs Bagshot know much about it.
So how did Andy know?
There was no way those in the know could have told Andy about these things, and Andy had no opportunity to contact them.
Andy's expression was unchanged.
Andy had certainly guessed some of the clues through the intelligence from his previous life.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
According to Aunt Rowling's plot arrangement, the Deathly Hallows should be very important. In the process of Harry defeating Voldemort, the Deathly Hallows should have played a large part.
And Harry, Voldemort, and Dumbledore, in turn, are three important characters in the Harry Potter novel.
It is known that the Potter family and the Gaunt family are both related to the original holders of the Deathly Hallows - the three Peverell brothers.
So it makes sense for Andy to surmise that 'the Elder Wand is in Dumbledore's hands' based on the plot development.
"Mrs Bagshot told me that Mr Gellert Grindelwald had gone to Godric's Hollow to look for news of the Deathly Hallows, and befriended you there."
Andy had already thought of a reason, "I don't believe that a dark wizard who had brought about turmoil in the magic world and the greatest wizard of the twentieth century - Albus Dumbledore - would end up empty-handed in this matter of searching for the Deathly Hallows."
"Just like I ..."
Andy signalled the box in his hand, "If you want to find it, you can find it."
This explanation sounded rather sloppy.
But Dumbledore was biased and couldn't refute it - because whether he believed it or not, since Andy had already given a reason, he definitely wouldn't rephrase it.
If he didn't believe it, then he could only investigate it himself.
Dumbledore did not dwell on this matter, he looked at the gold ring in the box and asked, "Is there a curse on the ring?"
Andy handed the box to Dumbledore, "It is, you can check it."
Dumbledore took the box.
He did not ask something like, 'You trust me that much?' Or 'Aren't you afraid that I will snatch the Resurrection Stone?' Such nonsense.
Because everyone knew that was impossible.
Dumbledore placed his wand against the ring and after a while, said, "Very strong curse magic, it can kill almost anyone in the magic world. It's a good thing you guys didn't put this ring on, or else everything would have been irreversible."
"Is it possible to break it?" Andy asked.
Dumbledore looked at Andy, "Maybe you can."
"Me? I can do it?" Andy froze. Why didn't I know I was so awesome?
Hermione also looked at Andy with a surprised look on her face.
Dumbledore slowly explained, "Although the curse utilises the power of the Resurrection Stone, the curse is placed on the ring. As long as the connection between the ring and the resurrection stone is severed, the curse can be broken."
"But they are now connected." Andy had naturally thought of that, but it simply couldn't be done - there was strong magic protection on it.
"We'll have to borrow the power of dark magic."
Dumbledore didn't try to play hard to get, he said, "For example, the venom of the ... basilisk can do this. The longer it lives, the better, and if it lives up to a thousand years, then it's even better."
