A diary?
Snape's heart skipped a beat, but his face remained frozen.
He lowered his sleeve gently before answering Lucius' question, "I've seen him, and he's alive."
"Hiss..."
Lucius sucked in a mouthful of cold air, the fear in his eyes was like substance, and the hand holding the wine glass was slightly trembling.
That's right! He, Lucius Malfoy, was a 'loyal' Death Eater.
But this loyalty was based on the fact that Voldemort was still alive and possessed great power.
In fact, back in the late stages of the last Wizarding War, many of the pureblood families, led by Lucius Malfoy, had become less inclined to trust Voldemort.
If they didn't fear Voldemort's power and means, they would have betrayed Voldemort long ago.
Unlike those Death Eaters whose hearts had been consumed by dark magic, who acted maniacally and were completely loyal to Voldemort, the Malfoy family always came first in Lucius's heart.
In the beginning, he still hoped to borrow Voldemort's power to change the status quo of the pureblood family's gradual weakness and restore the glory of his ancestors.
But when Voldemort gained complete power, he revealed his true colours.
Voldemort may care about the wizard's bloodline, but the thing he cares about most in his heart is always himself.
He saw the Purebloods as slaves.
It wasn't a good time for the Purebloods.
But Voldemort's power was so strong that Lucius didn't dare to raise any thoughts of betrayal.
Lucius didn't want Voldemort to return more than anyone else.
"Is he, is he really alive?"
Lucius asked incredulously, "Then he... then why did he...?"
"The Dark Lord lost all his powers that night."
Snape said faintly, "Originally, I also thought he was dead, but last year ... I saw him with my own eyes."
Lucius took a deep breath.
He wanted to say, 'Since Voldemort has lost all his powers, let's leave him alone.'
He's useless anyway.
But Lucius didn't dare.
If Voldemort did come back, Lucius felt that he would be better off being a 'loyal' Death Eater.
"Then he ..."
Lucius opened his mouth, and he quickly responded, "Severus ... that diary!"
Lucius was a little desperate.
He had hand-delivered an important item that Voldemort had entrusted to him for safekeeping to Dumbledore.
Voldemort would surely kill him.
"According to Dumbledore, that item involves the secret of the Dark Lord's immortality."
Snape asked tentatively, "What is that?"
Lucius didn't notice Snape's strangeness and shook his head lost in thought, "I don't know! I never looked at it after the Dark Lord gave it to me."
Snape's eyes flickered slightly as he said reassuringly, "You don't need to worry, there's more than one thing like that. As long as they all aren't destroyed, the Dark Lord will never die."
Lucius: Heh, I hope he dies soon!
"Yeah, yeah? That's great."
Lucius said dryly, "Severus, any instructions from the Dark Lord?"
Snape nodded, "The Dark Lord is planning his resurrection, and he wants me to help him free a Death Eater ... from Azkaban."
Lucius beamed, "I can help him."
Snape looked at Lucius with playful eyes, "That's not an easy job. I met the Dark Lord last year, he possessed Quirrell and absorbed his entire life force."
Lucius: Forget I said that.
"So you are ... you expect me to help you get into Azkaban?" Lucius quickly understood where Snape was coming from.
Lucius was a little torn.
He didn't want to do this, he wanted Voldemort to die, even if it meant losing his powers forever, it was better than him making a comeback.
He wanted to ask Snape, are you really loyal to Voldemort?
But ...
When the words reached his lips, Lucius didn't dare to say even a single word.
"Severus, help me."
Lucius pleaded, "That diary, I must have it back."
Snape looked at Lucius as if he were a fool, "No one can take something from Dumbledore that he wants to protect. What's more, Dumbledore has already destroyed that item."
Lucius sat down on the couch, disoriented.
Of course, he knew he wouldn't get it back, and the only reason he was saying that was because he was hoping Snape could put in a good word for him in front of Voldemort.
If Voldemort did make a comeback, he would probably die.
But he didn't dare to stop it.
"You help me find a chance ..."
Snape looked at Lucius and said in a slow tone, "As for the Dark Lord's side, I will help you."
"Thank you, thank you!"
Lucius raised his head sharply and looked at Snape as if he had grabbed a life-saving straw, "Leave Azkaban's side to me, I'll figure out the situation of the guards as soon as possible."
Snape said lightly, "There's no need to be in such a hurry, we still have a long time to take our time and plan."
"As for that diary ..."
"Perhaps that will lead Dumbledore to discover the secret of the Dark Lord's immortality, but there is more than one of that sort of thing, perhaps we can use that in turn."
Lucius quickly grasped Snape's meaning.
This bloke was trying to get Dumbledore killed!
This...
Should I snitch on him?
As annoying as Dumbledore was, he was...better than Voldemort in any case, right?
After all, Dumbledore is only slightly annoying, but Voldemort is deadly!
As long as Dumbledore was still alive, Voldemort wouldn't dare to be too unscrupulous. Thinking about this, Lucius suddenly felt as if Dumbledore was much more pleasing to the eye than before.
"It would be great if we could finish off Dumbledore."
Lucius smiled with a 'surprised' look before saying with deliberation, "But in this matter, isn't it better to wait for the Dark Lord to be resurrected first, and then discuss it with him...?"
Snape nodded slightly, not caring about the matter.
Once Voldemort agreed with this plan, he would take the initiative to divulge the location of the other Dark Magic items.
Even if Voldemort laid out the plan in advance, as long as Dumbledore was careful and prepared in advance, Voldemort could not help Dumbledore.
Letting Voldemort take the initiative to divulge the location of other dark magic items would be much faster than searching aimlessly.
Especially, this plan was still mentioned by Lucius.
It seemed sensible and reasonable.
Snape got up and said, "Remember to let me know when the arrangements are made on Azkaban's end."
"Don't worry!" Lucius said as he got up.
"Right!"
Snape suddenly remembered something, "That Black, the newspaper called him the craziest Death Eater, right?"
Lucius immediately figured out who Snape was talking about, "You mean Sirius Black?"
Snape said in a sarcastic tone, "He's your relative, you can request a visit. Ask him if he would like to help the Dark Lord regain his powers."
Then, have Voldemort attach himself to his body, absorb his life force, and torture him to death.
