Chapter 167 - Chapter 167 The sleepless night on the second day of school

Is he trying to screw over Sirius Black?

Lucius Malfoy looked at Snape with an odd gaze.

Being Snape's senior, Lucius knew Snape's love history during his school days like the back of his hand, and naturally, he was also very clear about the grudge between Snape and the Marauder Four.

Snape wanted to pit Black ... to death, and to be honest, Lucius wasn't surprised at all.

Being a capitalist in the magic world, Lucius would quickly settle a score.

Being one of the ancient pureblood families, the Black family was rich.

But this money was deposited in the Gringotts.

Other than the Black family's heir, no one could take this money out.

Now, the first heir of the Black family - Regulus Black - was dead.

Sirius Black, the second heir, was now imprisoned in Azkaban.

As long as Sirius Black died, according to the inheritance order, Lucius Malfoy's wife..., Narcissa Black Malfoy, had the chance to inherit the wealth.

"I'll apply for a meeting with Sirius Black, and it's about time Fudge helped out with something after all the money he took from me."

Lucius smiled lightly, "I will give you an answer soon."

At this point, Lucius suddenly found himself unable to stop smiling.

The Black family was miserable!

Because Regulus Black and Sirius Black were both Death Eaters, they worked for Voldemort.

As a result, one of these two brothers died silently, and the other was imprisoned in Azkaban, and if there were no accidents he would not be able to get out in his lifetime.

Even if he escapes, he will probably die in the future.

And I...Lucius Malfoy, am also a Death Eater!

'I am now counting the Black family's property, one day in the future, will my Malfoy family's property also be ...'

At the thought of this, Lucius' entire being went downhill.

Snape glanced at Lucius.

What's wrong with this person?

Why is he smiling confidently one moment and then looking sad the next?

Realising that Snape was looking at him, Lucius tried to maintain his poise and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly, revealing a smile that was awkward but not out of place.

Snape: "..."

With a sharp turn, Snape headed towards the front door of the manor.

***

Back at Hogwarts, Snape sat quietly in his office chair, casting a spell on his quill to automatically correct summer homework while recalling the events of the evening.

Snape knew this senior, Lucius, well.

He wasn't a loyal Death Eater, but he would never dare to betray Voldemort either - even if Voldemort had lost his powers.

And this wavering on Lucius' part allowed Snape to use him.

To make things even better, Lucius had personally delivered the dark magic items that Voldemort had left behind to Dumbledore's hands.

With Snape's understanding of Lucius, he should now be eager to both take credit on Voldemort's side, while at the same time hoping that someone else could finish off Voldemort to put an end to the problem.

So he would do his job honestly, and then secretly do some more petty manipulations in the shadow.

'What the hell is that diary ... thing?'

Snape mused in his mind, 'The secret of the Dark Lord's immortality? What kind of dark magic item would allow the Dark Lord to evade death?'

Ever since learning that Voldemort did not die that night ten years ago, Snape had been investigating the secret of Voldemort's immortality.

Those books in the restricted section of the library, Snape had gone through them many times over the year.

'It looks like Dumbledore hid those books.'

Thinking about Dumbledore's attitude, Snape's mentality was clear.

Ever since developing Voldemort, the Dark Lord, Dumbledore had been much more cautious in his actions.

'Whatever that thing is, the only way to find them is to have the Dark Lord actively expose them.'

Letting Voldemort use his 'secret of immortality' as bait to catch Dumbledore on the hook, was the method Snape came up with.

And all of this required Voldemort to regain a certain amount of power, or even be completely resurrected!

Snape secretly plotted.

The Quirrell incident last year had shown Snape something about Dumbledore's thoughts.

Dumbledore wanted to train Harry against Voldemort.

It was also the prophesied destiny.

Just ...

That was Lily's son!

Snape's face looked pained, he had killed Lily, and he couldn't stand by and watch her child risk his life anymore.

He had to do something.

***

Snape wasn't the only one losing sleep that same night.

In the Ravenclaw library, Andy was quietly reading a book.

"You're reading another law book?" Hermione asked with a surprised look on her face.

Since when was Andy interested in such books?

Changed his nature?

"Exactly!" Andy gritted his teeth.

The only way to bring down Dumbledore was to arm himself with legal weapons.

After Astronomy class, Andy specifically asked Harry and Ron if Professor Lockhart was really that bad.

Their answer was unsurprising.

Supposedly, when the Cornish Pixies had been messing around in the classroom, Lockhart had tried to take his wand and stop them.

But the result was obvious.

Not a single spell had been used by Lockhart, and he had been given a hard time by the little ones.

Andy's eyes were red then.

Unfortunately, Lockhart hadn't left any evidence behind.

Unlike Quirrell, Lockhart was a celebrity in the magic world and a recipient of the Order of Merlin's Third Class.

With empty words, Andy couldn't do anything to him.

He couldn't just throw a killing curse at him, could he?

No way.

"You want to kick Professor Lockhart out of the school?" Hermione knew Andy too well, not to mention that Andy had made it so obvious.

"Well!"

Andy admitted with a nod, "More than that, I want to teach Dumbledore a lesson in the process, so he doesn't keep finding such incompetent buffoons to teach us."

Hermione looked at Andy with odd eyes.

You're too brave, aren't you?

You, a second-year wizard, dare to go head-to-head with the greatest wizard of the twentieth century?

Even Voldemort didn't dare to do that when he was in school.

"Have you thought of a way?" Hermione asked curiously.

"Thought of ..."

Andy gave Hermione a look and smirked, "Just wait and see the show!"

"How could you even hide it from me?"

Hermione said unhappily, "I don't believe you can cause trouble for Dumbledore."

"I am not trying to hide it from you ..."

Andy looked around, "The ghosts and portraits in the castle have intelligence, there's no guarantee they won't snitch to Dumbledore."

"He is the headmaster, after all."

Read the law and find out the loopholes in it.

Andy felt that he hadn't read in vain that night.

"Whatever."

Hermione rolled her eyes in disbelief, "I'll be watching from the sidelines when you get kicked out of school."
