Silax wiped off the blood from his nose. He was a little pissed. The punches he received had really stung.
'Since we are on an equal level in terms of speed and strength, the only way to come out on top will be my control over the wind.'
Fred reached out his fingers and brushed the edge of a shadow cast by a toppled crate. It writhed at his touch, lengthening and twisting, snaking towards Silax's legs.
Silax reacted this time around, he leapt back as the shadow tendril lashed out and whipped past with a hiss like angry wind.
Then he lunged forward, his dirk a wicked crescent in his hand. Fred twisted out of the way and propelled himself backwards. He snatched another stray shadow, this one cast by a dangling length of chain, and whipped it across Silax's face.
Silax was momentarily blinded, and Fred used this opportunity to launch a flurry of wild punches.
