Silax stumbled into his room feeling drained. It took a lot of effort for him to remain standing. He dragged himself into his training chamber, grabbed a flask from the top of the barrels, and gulped mouthfuls of blood.
A wave of relief washed over him as he felt his body fill with Radix. He readjusted his posture and stood upright, his stamina returning.
He took off his cloak and took another look at his arm. The purple lines had only reduced by a few inches. It had taken every bit of Radix in his body to fight against that little bit of purple energy.
Being able to pull the rod out from the ground wasn't the only difficulty a vampyre faced, surviving the invasion of the foreign force was also a herculean task.
Silax went back into his room, he tossed the rod onto his desk, crashed onto his bed, and drifted off to sleep.
