The Clouds darkened with ash, smoke, and Death as the battle of all time had taken place. The battle of multiple ages has been the talk of the world; for thousands of years the master of darkness Cruzog the false God had been terrorizing humanity for centuries with his legions of undead, and mutant humans named Garuk-Nai.
For thousands of years Cruzog wanted to reshape the world known as Conterra into his image; time and time again heroes have come to thwart his plans. However Cruzog is highly known for his patience and tactical ability that'll always leave him victorious in strange ways. For thousands of years he'll lay out plans with the intention of failure in order to test out if his ultimate plan will succeed or not. Each plan tested the might of humanity to collect more souls and personally challenge the "heroes" that have been selected to challenge him personally. Each time he had gained more and more information and methods to achieve his ultimate plan for world dominance, and collected new souls for his army of undead that he had unleashed for this final battle.
The Four Kingdoms had joined forces with the heroes of this battle with the lead kingdom being the Terrakon Kingdom. The Terrakon Kingdom for the past few centuries have been the nation that has always fought Cruzog's nation of darkness (Rugol) to a bloodied stand still, while being the Nation that has always summoned or appointed heroes to challenge Cruzog's army and himself. Normally Seven heroes would be able to challenge Cruzog however this time the party of seven was cut down to a party of four due to tragic events involving Cruzog himself in an attempt to demoralize the heroes and make them run for the hills to ensure success; but it has worked against him as the heroes rallied the Kingdoms to unify under one banner to deal with humanity's common enemy. Rallying under the Terrakon Banner the largest force of Four point Nine million warriors from an able bodied boy in the smallest village to an older man able to hold a bow or sword had gone to fight.
Despite this Cruzog was well prepared for such a force, countering his own force of four million undead and two million Garuk-Nai. This is the fight of all human history, a choice of life or death, freedom or slavery. This battle brought out every weapon, tool, and beast that was used in war; the sounds of swords clashing, elephants roaring, horses screeching, men screaming, undead and Garuk-Nai howling, boulders and flying beast whistling through the air as the battles took a foot hold on the ground, in the skies above, and ships crash and exploded in the rivers and sea next to Rugol.
The soldiers, knights, rangers, and the King of the Terrakon Kingdom wore silver steel armor, Steel Chainmail, and steel helmets to whoever had one; they were dressed in white as the leading force of the assault while the other three nations were in the colors of blue, green, and orange. They all knew the risk when they marched into battle, and every single man knew it would most likely be their last fight. Every man was scared either for his family he wouldn't see again, his own life, or his brothers in arms. One young man in his late teens, who came from a small village in the mountains far from the gates of Tiuar where the Human nations have taken their battle to and past it. His name is Takara a private foot soldier who joined the draft of the Terrakon nation into the front lines of the main unit sent to attack Cruzog's nation.
The initial start of the battle was very brutal as Cruzog's forces unleashed metal weapons no one has ever seen before leaving Takara to see everyone in his unit and those that came from his village massacred in a matter of minutes. Yet they had all pushed on defeating the metal contraptions and pushed on as they charged deep into Cruzog's territory being led by the Four heroes who helped rallied the soldiers and pushed on.
And that's what Takara was doing being in the front lines swinging his sword that he felt like the sword was fusing itself into his palm while his sweat, his blood, the blood of men, and blood of Garuk-Nai and Undead covered him. The shield he had on his left was covered with mud and blood as he kept picking up a new one from the ground every time his previous shield broke. For six hours this young man fought, catching his breath here and there when he found cover and waited for his breath to return to him and charge to the front. His helmet was surely battered and had several arrows stuck in it as it was strong enough to stop the arrows from going through all the way. Unfortunately he would still lose it as a Garuk-Nai warrior hit him so hard with its mace that his helmet flew off and knocked him out for a few seconds before he felt hands on him shaking him awake.
"Private! Are you ok?!" A knight said with his helmet off as his face was covered with soot and mud as his blue eyes looked at Takara's eyes.
"Y-Yes sir! I'm up!" Takara said as the knight helped him up and tackled him into cover as a metal like vehicle crashed in front of them with Garuk-Nai and Undead flying off it and dying upon impact.
"Sir, look above that thing! I think it's a ballista!" Takara said to the knight as he looked at the vehicle with a smile.
"How's your Archery?" The Knight asked, looking at the young man.
"Mild sir."
"That's good enough for me. Get on the ballista and I'll make sure nothing gets to you." The Knight gestured to Takara to follow him as they climbed the vehicle and Takara manned the Ballista getting a feel of how it worked before he opened fire at the enemies they saw in sight. When he fired the two noticed how when the ballista bolts hit the enemy it exploded the area it hit, showing the two what was causing most of their army's deaths.
"Keep firing! I'll load the ballistas when you run out!" The Knight said as Takara nodded and kept firing at every Garuk-Nai and Undead he saw and in the direction the knight had told him to fire. However that moment didn't last long as a loud screech was heard above them and without a second thought the knight pushed the private off the ballista as the young man saw a monstrous winged beast in the shape of a dragon crash straight down on the Ballista and with it's serpent like head chomp on the knight and split him in half as the private watched the Knight's lower half fall in front of him in horror and shock as the dark beast with a serpent like head turned it's gaze with its rider towards Takara.
Takara with great fear on his face fumbled and crawled backwards as he tried to look for his sword that had fallen off him while the beast crawled to him hissing while its rider lined Takara up to be the beast's next meal.
Fumbling for a sword Takara felt a hilt of a blade and brought it in front of him. However the sword he grabbed a hold of had a smashed blade and was just the hilt. Looking at his Sword in disbelief, Takara only saw the jaws of the beast open wide as it lunged at him.
In one moment Takara saw his death however the private had caught a break as a person in a blue cloak had jumped in front of him and sliced the beast head off and then the rider's head as well. Seeing his life spared Takara dropped the sword to see the person who saved his life is one of the heroes leading the charge.
"Hey are you ok?" The hero said lowering their hood to reveal a beautiful young woman with long chestnut hair and amber yellow eyes leaving Takara at a loss of words before he collected himself.
"Y-yes Madam Marlein, I'm fine." Takara said, getting up and addressing the hero.
"That's good, wait that badge, you were with the first unit that charged in. It's amazing you lasted this long. What's your name?" The hero asked, handing him a sword.
"I'm Takara."
"Nice to meet you Takara, and don't worry we'll be at Cruzog." Marlein said with a smile, handing him a shield.
"I know you will. Which is why we're all here." Takara said, looking ahead at the battlefield.
"Glad to hear it. I'll see you later so don't die!" She said hopping back to the front lines.
"I'll... Try..." Takara said, taking a deep breath and running towards the front lines continuing the battle that raged on longer into the night.
Though the battle was etching closer and closer to the castle, and the closer it was going to the castle the rougher the battle was getting as more and more men were being slaughtered. Yet the young boy had managed to survive thanks to those who saved him, and to his own awareness. The group he had joined with were all battle hardened soldiers who were impressed by the boy's willingness to continue forward.
"Look at that... That kid has a lot of courage."
"Or he's just insane... Still to be alive for this long... Says a lot." The knights said to each other looking at Takara before moving ahead, impressed or worried about the young man's mental state.
And they'd be right because most of the young men that were in the field were scared, have attempted to flee, or have died. These thoughts have crossed his mind, he did want to flee, he was scared, and he did want to die; however he didn't want to die just yet.
To the young man from a small village Takara needed to be here, and he needed to fight. He fully knew what the battle meant and in his eyes, even though he is playing a small part, despite him being weak compared to the vets around him and to the heroes, he was determined to fight even if he makes a tiny impact on the battlefield. He was content in sacrificing himself for something much bigger than himself.
The battle continued nonetheless and it was becoming easier for Takara to kill Garuk-Nai and Undead as he was gaining experience with each kill and muscle memory with his sword becoming more efficient. Despite how much he wanted to rest he pushed himself to go forward when they saw that castle right in front of them.
A castle fit for an evil ruler surrounded by a moat of lava connected to the land by a single bridge that had millions Garuk-Nai and Undead Garrison at a bunker and around it ready to defend it from the invading human Nations as they gathered together for a final charge waiting Cruzog's army to make a move.
"Private, how're you doing?" A knight asked as he kneeled down next to the young man who was wrapping a bandage on his arm.
"Alive sir... Ready to storm that freaking Castle..." Takara said, finishing up on his bandage.
"You're filthier than most of us here... Son, how long have you been out here?" Another Knight asked, looking at the private.
"I was in the first battalion." Takara said, surprising the two.
"Seriously?! I don't-"
"He's telling the truth... The first battalion were given white roses, look." One of the knights said, looking at the white red covered in mud and blood that was tied to Takara's shoulder pad.
"Woah... You earn this small rest then kid..." The first knight said, as Takara nodded and looked at them curiously before looking at the bunker ahead of them.
"Just what are they waiting for?"
"Cruzog." A woman said as the three looked at her.
"Madam Marlein..." Takara said quietly as the beautiful woman smiled at him.
"Hey Takara you're still alive, that's a good thing... I wish I could stay and talk but my party is supposed to meet with the kings at the front." Marlein said as the Knights both looked at Takara and her in shock due to the fact a hero was casually talking to a private like him.
"Hm... It's fine, you guys are saving the world after all."
"So are you guys. Keep fighting the good fight." Marlein said, walking away to the front.
"How do you know her?"
"C'mon private details!"
"Hm... She saved me a few hours ago... That's all." Takara said, standing up and putting his sword in its sheath.
"Ah ok. Oh you must be hungry, here take these rations." The Knight said, handing Takara some bread.
"Thank... You?... I guess the final battle is going to commence..." Takara said as he and the others went to the front as they heard a loud work of chains opening the doors of the bunker. The Garuk-Nai and Undead all bashed their shields with their swords, spears on the ground, stomped their boots as they started chanting
"Cruzog! Cruzog!"
"Welp if this battle wasn't hard enough already..."
"It's about to get even harder." Takara said as he and everyone around him saw a giant figure walk out of the bunker with a flaming sword and following behind him was a dragon fully engulfed in flames burst through the bunker forming a pillar of flame behind Cruzog, when he walked up he stood on the middle of the battlefield between both armies and pointed his sword at the heroes.
"ssenkrad eht ni deppart eb reverof ll'uoY !eid ot emoc lla evah uoY!" Cruzog said in black speech.
"Well this is it... The deciding moment of human history. Lord help us win this battle." Takara said, drawing his sword and holding up his shield as they watched the heroes give a heroic speech against Cruzog.
After their speech both the human Nations, and Cruzog had charged each other at full speed as the brief rest had ended commencing the final battle against Cruzog.
It was no holds barred as everything was being brought out the nightmare beast in the skies picking off soldiers from the ground while combating the flying beast with their human riders. On the ground Cruzog and his dragon had been slaughtering everyone around them, soon ordering his dragon to wipe out the humans.
Unfortunately Takara was in the middle of fighting a larger Garuk-Nai had found himself to be next to the Dragon as it clamped its jaws down on several troops breathing fire at several knights. After he was done killing the Garuk-Nai he saw a ballista mounted on a vehicle like earlier, looking at the Dragon massacre his brothers in arms Takara dashed for the ballista avoiding every Garuk-Nai and Undead so he could reach the ballista. When he got to the vehicle Takara climbed up to the Ballista and took aim at the Dragon as one of the heroes, a Paladin in Orange was using his shield against the Dragon's fire. With his sight lined up he took a shot and nailed the Dragon in it's throat making it flinch as divert it's attention to the soldier on the ballista and fired a fireball as soon as the ballista bolts melted from the intense heat of the Dragon's body melting in a matter of seconds.
Seeing the fireball incoming Takara jumped off the vehicle not seeing the Five undead that climbed up on it get taken out by the fireball. But when the fireball hit the vehicle and destroyed it a piece of burning metal had managed to slash Takara on his right side to leave a horrible scar as the wound was instantly cauterized and almost made the young man lose consciousness as he stayed on the ground holding his wound and screaming due to the pain. In his moment of defenselessness, a Garuk-Nai had tried to lunge at him to kill him. With a quick reaction Takara used his free hand to hold the Garuk-Nai back as a Knight came to his rescue and slashed the Garuk-Nai's head off.
"Private are you ok?" A knight asked sitting Takara up.
"Y-yea... I'm fine... Though... This Cut is going to be a problem..." Takara said, taking his hand off his right side showing the knight his wound.
"That's a serious one... You're lucky it was cauterized quickly... You won't die from it." The Knight told him, giving him a reassuring smile.
"I see... I thought I was a goner..."
"You can still fight right?"
"Yes I can." He said standing up grabbing his sword and shield.
"Good c'mon this fight is far from over!" The Knight said charging forward with Takara as the boy lagged a bit behind to catch his breath looking at the Dragon and the Hero Paladin Kio fight each other while the other three heroes dueled Cruzog.
The battle was becoming more and more harsh and Takara was barely managing to scrape by with his few victories of narrowly escaping death. Even as the Orange Hero slayed the Dragon; Cruzog himself was proving to be an unstoppable opponent as he fought back the heroes demoralizing those around them.
Even for Takara that Dark Lord was making him slowly lose his resolve. As he saw no end to the undead and Garuk-Nai he was fighting.
"!eulB ni nediaM ruoy llik I sa taefed ruoy ni elbmerT !slatroM hsilooF!" Cruzog said in black speech as he walked to the down woman in a blue cloak with his flaming sword in hand.
With each step Cruzog took, more and more men died as the momentum was in his favor and his army's favor. And with the death of another Hero it will surely mean Humanity's end. It definitely showed in men's faces as they were all losing their confidence and will to live fighting and dying as blood painted the black soot on the ground while the air echoed with men yelling "Fall Back!".
Not realizing that the dead soldiers behind their advance would soon turn into undead and trap the Armies of Man. All Cruzog needed to do was kill the Hero of Blue; so he brought his sword above the Hero of Blue as she looked up in fear fumbling for her sword.
"Die!" Cruzog said in Common as he swung his sword down towards her. Though what he didn't expect was for a mere boy of low ranking to shield the Hero with a shield.
"Hah! Takara!" Marlein said as she watched the young man fall on one knee as Cruzog put his superior strength to push the Private down as he dropped his sword doing his best to push his shield up against the giant incarnation of evil.
"TAKE MY SWORD!" Takara yelled out, struggling to keep his shield up.
Frustrated, Cruzog slammed his sword down again, pushing the boy named Takara back down and using his free hand to grab the shield and throw it away as he grabbed the boy by the neck and lifted him up.
"Foolish Child your death shall be painful!" Cruzog said moving his flaming sword closer to Takara's face as his left cheek started to turn red due to the heat of the sword as it etched closer.
"Not if I have anything to say about it!" Marlein said taking Takara's sword and slicing Cruzog's army off, dropping Takara as the Dark Lord screeched out in pain.
"Now!" Marlein called to her party that had recollected themselves and attacked Cruzog as he fell to his knees and took another swipe at Takara and the hero of blue while she moved the private out of the way.
"Thank you Takara... I'll be back." Marlein said, laying him on the ground and joining her party as they all took their swords and stabbed Cruzog in the chest.
Takara couldn't reply as he felt his consciousness fading due to his exhaustion and battle fatigued watching the heroes sink their sword into Cruzog as a loud screech was heard and then a flash of white had blinded him then the void of black was all that was seen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the void a young boy dressed in brown walked aimlessly through the void, no fear, no expectations, just the void. Until colors other than black had started taking place, showing grass forming underneath the boy's feet as he continued to walk towards a Yurt tent of white with red and blue patterns outside of it representing the sun and moon and the animals of their respective times of day.
As the young boy enters the Yurt home he finds himself back into the void as he looks around looking for something. Looking around him in a full circle, the boy sees a young woman with raggy clothing as her body looked very frail and she had a butcher's knife in her hand stroking the blade. The boy only saw her Raven black hair that covered her face as the boy suddenly saw an elderly woman's body behind her in a pool of blood striking fear into the boy as he started to back up in hopes the door was still behind him. However as he backed up the frail woman with the knife had suddenly appeared behind him making the boy jolt and step away from her.
"Hehehe... Makoto..." The woman said as the boy looked at her with tears in his eyes falling on his butt and crawled away slowly as she stepped towards him.
"You should see Takara Makoto... He looks so much like you..." The woman said as the boy looked at her with tears in his eyes falling on his butt and crawled away slowly as she stepped towards him.
"You should see Takara Makoto... He looks so much like you..." The woman said as her eyes held such pure insanity in them.
"W-wait... I'm Takara M-"
"Makoto you should've stayed DEAD!" The woman shouted lunging at the boy with her knife in front of her as the boy covered his face afraid of his death.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"No! Argh..." Takara yelled out before groaning and holding his stomach and right side.
"Hey you're awake." A woman with Chestnut hair and amber yellow eyes said walking up to the young man.
"L-lady Marlein? Where are we?" Takara asked, looking around seeing he was in a tent with other wounded men.
"Medical tent. We won, thanks to you." She said with a smile as Takara looked down.
"I didn't do anything... You guys did most of the work." Takara said as he thought back to everyone who saved him during the battle.
"Well your role helped us. Which is why we decided to give you this." Marlein said, taking out a necklace with a lion pendant on it.
"Wait, is this..."
"Yep You're an honorary hero. I would stay and chat but I need to let the others know you're awake. I know King Matias wants to see you as you are the only survivor of the White Rose brigade."
"Oh... I see... Thank you Lady-"
"Please... Just Marlein." The woman said with a smile.
"O-oh... Thank you Marlein." Takara said as the woman gave him a bright smile.
"No thank you Takara... And by the way, thanks for the save." Marlein said walking up to Takara and placing a kiss on his cheek before heading out of the tent, leaving the boy a flustered mess.
"Wahahah... W-what exactly... Was that?!" Takara asked himself out loud in a mild volume as he held his cheek with a flushed red face.
After collecting himself for a few minutes Takara managed to get himself out of the medical bed with help from the medical staff as they helped him set off to the King's tent where he saw the Hero Paladin of Orange Kio and the Hero sword mage of Green Mia talk to each other outside of the tent.
"I guess what he said was true... The minute the real Cruzog died... All magic was put asunder." Mia said as her short blonde hair flowed with the wind as she put her hand up to draw a magic circle only for nothing to happen.
"It was a sacrifice we had to make. Besides, only a few people in Conterra had access to magic anyways." Kio said, putting his hand on her shoulder.
"I know... At least I'm still able to use a sword. So what'll this mean... For us?" Mia asked with a slight blush on her face as she looked at the large man with Dark brown hair and brown eyes as he scratched his chin with a blush.
"I think it means... Wait, you're that soldier who shot the Dragon." Kio said as he took notice of the smaller boy limping his way towards them.
"Yea... Sorry I couldn't be of more help..."
"Nonsense. It was only a few seconds but it gave me a brief moment to kill the dragon with Mia's help of course." The Large man gestured to the young woman slightly shorter than Takara.
"Indeed. And we've seen how you protected Marlein despite being outmatched. You have our gratitude Takara." Mia said, smiling at him.
"N-No please you guys have my gratitude for saving the world." Takara said with a soft smile.
"Hahaha! I like that humbleness Takara the King is waiting for you inside." Kio said, opening the tent door for Takara as he saluted the two and headed inside seeing Marlein talk to a man in white and another man he knew as King Matias.
"Ah! Takara, I was able to get you again." Marlein said as the Hero in white looked at Takara as his chestnut brown hair fell to his shoulder and swayed as he looked at Takara with his amber yellow eyes.
"Yup that's him. Takara you probably know who I am but allow me to introduce myself to the man who saved my sister. I'm Martin. It's a pleasure to meet you." The Hero in white said as Takara nodded with a small smile as they shook hands.
"Nice to meet you sir Martin, good to see you Marlein... And it's an honor for your majesty." Takara said, trying his best to bow.
"No need for that Takara. I understand you're the only survivor of the White Rose brigade." The king said, looking at the young man.
"Yes sir..."
"You have done a lot sir Takara. I wish to hold a ceremony as my guest and a position in my council." The king said as Takara looked down with a sad look.
"I'm sorry King Matias... But I must decline. I'm a mere peasant compared to the rest of you. I'm also the only survivor of twenty men from my village... I wish no disrespect but I wish to see the bodies of those who came from my village so I can take them back and bury them in our mountain." Takara said.
"Very well I understand and I hope you'll accept me visiting your village at a later date. For now I'll send a company of soldiers with you to your village and help with the funeral arrangements. As a thank you dear boy." The king said, putting his hand on Takara's shoulder.
"Thank you King Matias." Takara bowed his head before he left the tent, not seeing the blue hero follow behind.
"Hey Takara. I wanted to ask you something." Marlein said, getting his attention.
"Hm? Sure what is it Marlein?" Takara looked at her curious to what she'll ask while having a small hint of pink in his cheek from what happened earlier.
"I'd like to know where your village is. Even with Cruzog dead our work isn't finished yet so I wanted to come visit it in the future when things die down. If it's ok with you?" Marlein asked, moving some hair behind her ear as she looked at him.
"Hm... Sure... I can mark it on the map for you." Takara said shyly, looking away.
"Really! Thank you so much Takara!" Marlein said with a bright smile before she took out her map and gave it to Takara.
"It's not a problem... It's here in these mountains." Takara said, marking it down and handing the map back to her.
"Ok thank you Takara. I hope you get better soon... Oh and safe travels back home." Marlein said and gave him a smile before they both parted ways.
"Right... Home..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the Terrakon Kingdom there is a wide mountain range in the north side that's filled with beautiful and vibrant green trees that turn to shades of red, orange, and yellow during the fall season. The landscapes of the mountains themselves are very wide and easy to navigate without the risk of falling as a river of fresh clean water and vast bounty of fish can be found through the mountain range connecting between several waterfalls of different elevations eventually running through a valley of an open plain field with a water fall to the east of it and the forest to the west and south of it. Inside the valley rested a village many call the shepherding people as they have a large flock of sheep that roam the open fields and drink from the river as several farms use the river for their produce.
The people in this village live in large to small Yurt tents with small wooden shacks located next to them for storage of food or tools. Everyone in this village had played a role; the children played and assisted in foraging, the older kids forage and help herd the sheep and tend to the farm, the young men learn from the elder men by gathering wood, fishing, helping fix houses, and learn to fight off predators that'll target their sheep flock. The young women will teach the children how to forage, climb trees, help their mothers and elderly women cook, clean, and bring food to the working Farmers, Shepherds, and Fishers of their village. And finally the older adults and elders teach everything they can to the younger generation and help keep the village running.
Three months ago a good percentage of men from their village had left to fight in the final battle against Cruzog. Twenty-Five out of A hundred men had left to fight leaving many troubles as things had become harder for the inexperienced young men and women of the village. Nonetheless the village didn't suffer but only had minor setbacks. The young women had adapted quickly to help the young men in the village more by helping with the flock of sheep and learning how to fight off wolves with a pole. One Young woman in particular worked as hard as she could for the village helping in any area, Her name is Hisuinome a beautiful young woman with Jade colored eyes and long raven black hair she ties into a short ponytail while a long bang covers her right eye partially while she wore a green deel like outfit with black pants and brown boots and is famous for her smile in the village.
"Hisuinome... Wait up! You're too fast!... Hah..." A young man said as he followed Hisuinome into the woods.
"Come on Mekara! Uncle Fushi's house is running low on wood and Auntie Gina said she'll make the kids her famous pie if we get them more wood and the sweet berries nearby." Hisuinome said, turning around with her hands behind her back as she looked at Mekara with a sly smile.
"You've only been in this village a month with your mother and you already care about everyone here." Mekara said catching his breath and smiled at her.
"Of course, everyone took us in so I'm just returning the favor." She said looking forward and continued walking.
"Yea... You know I'm really glad yo-"
"Wait Mekara what's that?" Hisuinome said as they looked at the open road through the forest where they saw a convoy of Terrakon soldiers and knights on horseback with several wagons behind them slowly make their way through the forest.
"That must be the men who left! Quick we have to let the others know!" Mekara said, grabbing Hisuinome's hand.
"Oi! Don't use this as an excuse to grab my hand! Plus... I'm faster than you!" Hisuinome said, slapping his hand before she gave him a teasing smile and ran off with him following behind.
"Oh come on!" Mekara said, trying to catch up.
The two had raced back to the village and gathered everyone together for the day everyone looked forward to, and feared. Seeing men from their village return is a blessing even if they're coming back alive or not. Though it was their anticipation that they wanted to know the answers to as they all gathered to the village with the flock of sheep close by and looked to see the shining steel armor of the knights and soldiers not noticing one of them in a leather jacket of black and brown coloring who had his head down on his horse.
"This must be a time for everyone here." Hisuinome said as she stood next to her mother.
"Yea. Though will it be a good thing or a bad thing? After all, we don't know what these men have been through. Nevertheless, their families."
"Yea." Hisuinome said as she and her mother watched the village's chieftain walk up to the convoy as two men got off their horses; one a Knight in steel armor and white cloth, and the other in leather black and brown with steel Gauntlets on him.
Not hearing them talk, the two only saw the chieftain fall to his knees crying as the village soon came to realize that everyone they had been hoping to see come home alive... Wouldn't.
Later that night with the help of the knights and soldiers of Terrakon. The village had set up a funeral for Twenty-Four men who died in battle. The chieftain spoke about each one of them as everyone sat at the respective burial sight of their brothers, sons, and fathers waiting to push the dirt on their grave to put them to rest. While this was happening Hisuinome looked at the young man in black and brown as he stood at a distance from them watching the funeral.
"Hey mom... They say Twenty-Four of these men died. Is that man the only survivor?" Hisuinome asked, glancing at the young man.
"I believe so-"
"He is... He should've died..." Mekara said as he sat next to Hisuinome while his eyes glared daggers at him.
"But he's alive, shouldn't you be happy about that at least... Actually, where is his family?"
"Not around... Listen to me, Hisuinome, that man is named Takara. Stay away from him!" Mekara said, catching the maiden off guard.
"O-okay..." Hisuinome glanced at the man before she helped Mekara and his mother bury their older brother in the ground.
"I'm sorry I'm the only one who survived... I wish it was different..."
