His eyes lingered on her for a few seconds before averting his gaze and dismissing her question. "Where have you been?" Electra asked again, glancing at Evangeline, who stood beside her. Evangeline began to walk out of the room, giving them privacy.
"Do you know how worried I was? I barely slept, thinking something bad had happened to you. I was even on my way to Mrs. Cadel to tell he—" he cut her off.
"Please, shut up! Stop talking. I don't want to hear another word from your mouth!" Ryker Cadel yelled, making her flinch in shock at the volume of his voice and the way he glared at her like a predator.
He was angry.
"But I was just worried about you. You're my husband, and it's only right if I know your whereabouts. You left yesterday morning and didn't come back until this morning. Of course, I'll be worried," Electra didn't let the tone of his voice scare her. She said what she needed to say and what she felt should be said.
