Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

Chapter 20

Kim Hae-yoon looked witlessly as she stood on top of the bar's rooftop, her hand resting on the railings. It was a cold and quiet night.

She looked down and saw that everyone looked like ants that made her chuckle. She opened her optical brain and took a photo and sent it to Cho Shiye.

Cho Shiye couldn't sleep well as she turned about every now and then, feeling restless as she heard a notification pop up from her optical brain.

Seeing the name, she immediately pressed the hologram-like screen and saw the pic that Kim Hae-yoon had sent. She looked confused as she typed.

Cho Shiye: 『 ??? 』

Cho Shiye: 『 What's that? 』

Kim Hae-yoon smiled upon seeing her wife reply quickly as she giggled and typed.

Kim Hae-yoon: 『 The overview of the bar. 』

Kim Hae-yoon: 『 They look like ants from this angle. 』

Cho Shiye chuckled, wondering why Kim Hae-yoon even sent her this before she saw another picture Kim Hae-yoon had sent.

Inside the photo was a selfie of Kim Hae-yoon that she had taken, her long black hair draped on her shoulders as she smiled, almost like a grin, her cheeks reddened and her eyes looking quite hazy.

Cho Shiye blushed, she couldn't deny that no matter how goofy Kim Hae-yoon had looked in this photo, she's still quite hot. Not just quite but, even more hotter than normal.

Her drunken state looks sultry and sophisticated, messy yet alluring.

'Ah…' Cho Shiye blushed deeply, her heart beating wildly. '...' She covered her face with the pillow.

Kim Hae-yoon sulked after her wife stopped responding to her, wondering if her wife hates her appearance and that's why she didn't bother to respond.

She tapped the video call button and let it ring, feeling uneasy as time passed by. It stopped ringing as Cho Shiye's face appeared on the hologram.

Kim Hae-yoon smiled like a child seeing her mother after a long time at school as she shouted and almost hugged the hologram.

"My wife!" Kim Hae-yoon shouted that made Cho Shiye jolt and chuckled after seeing what Kim Hae-yoon tried to do.

'I see, so she's quite drunk huh?' Cho Shiye remained calm despite her heart racing fast.

"What are you doing?" Cho Shiye asked as Kim Hae-yoon grumbled and returned to her position as Cho Shiye saw that Kim Hae-yoon looked like an abandoned puppy. "What?" She chuckled.

"I miss you…" Kim Hae-yoon spoke in a low tone of voice, she pouted and looked miserable.

"Well, what time are you going home?" Cho Shiye asked as Kim Hae-yoon looked at the time and spoke with a smile.

"Now!" She shouted as she's about to set off but was stopped by Cho Shiye.

"Was your meeting with your uncle done yet?" Cho Shiye asked. "Didn't you say that you wanted to spend some time with him after a long time of not seeing each other?" She added as Kim Hae-yoon frowned.

"Why do you want me to spend time with him instead of you?" She asked, her tone sounded like she's quite angry. "Don't you miss me? Do you hate me and want to leave me?" She asked again as her tone crooked, her eyes slowly watering with tears as Cho Shiye panicked.

"I never said that!" Cho Shiye shouted. "And… I miss you as well." She mumbled as Kim Hae-yoon perked up.

"Yes? I can't quite hear you, can you say it again?" She grinned as Cho Shiye's face turned red in embarrassment.

'Ah, seriously! Are all alphas cunning and playful like her?' Cho Shiye thought.

"It's nothing, you should go back to where uncle is and enjoy your time together." Cho Shiye spoke as she's about to end the call. "I'm going to sleep." She added as if she herself could sleep after

"Our talk is done." Kim Hae-yoon said sternly, the expression on her face turning cold that Cho Shiye noticed but didn't bother to mention. "I'll be going home now, wait for me, let's sleep together."

Cho Shiye blushed after hearing the last words Kim Hae-yoon had spoken.

'Is this finally the time?' Cho Shiye asked herself. 'I mean, it's not like I'm against it bu—' She blushed deeply. 'Ah! What am I thinking?' she clenched her fists and closed her eyes.

'Am I seriously thinking of that? I mean, it's not like it's not impossible for us to do it since it's been 2 weeks after we got married and never once we consummated our marriage—' Cho Shiye punched her pillow. 'Ah!! I should stop thinking about this!!'

Kim Hae-yoon smiled and didn't end the call as she ran inside, leaving her guards behind as they followed suit with her in front. They didn't bother to question as they saw the expression on the Empress' face and understood immediately.

As she reached the hallway, she accidentally bumped into a woman and that woman fell to the ground with a loud thud. One of Kim Hae-yoon's guards, Seo Sang-min, a male alpha, rushed forward to aid Kim Hae-yoon who didn't budge and just looked at the woman in front of her.

"Your majesty! Are you okay?" He asked worriedly as he scanned Kim Hae-yoon's body, looking for any signs of injury.

"I'm fine." Kim Hae-yoon said, "The one you should worry about was her, not me." She pointed at the woman wearing a long blue dress, groaning on the floor.

Kim Hae-yoon noticed that the woman seemed unwell and so she knelt down and offered her hands. "Are you okay?" She asked, her tone seemed caring but she stared coldly at her.

"Y-yes, your majesty! I'm sorry for bumping into you… I'm really sorry!" The woman bowed and pleaded, her body shivering in fear as Kim Hae-yoon sighed and helped her up.

"Don't worry about it." Kim Hae-yoon assured as she smiled politely. "Just be careful next time, alright?" The woman nodded.

"Thank you for your kindness, your majesty!" She bowed again as Kim Hae-yoon brushed it off. "No need to bow. Now, I'm quite busy so I'll take my leave." Kim Hae-yoon smiled and left the woman behind.

"What was that?" Cho Shiye asked after a long while as she saw that Kim Hae-yoon seemed to be talking to another woman, her eyes furrowed as her chest tightened.

"It's nothing, she just accidentally bumped into me." Kim Hae-yoon answered as she looked back at the woman who entered the room next to hers and disappeared.

'It's quite odd to see anyone wearing a blue dress though. It symbolizes bad luck…' Kim Hae-yoon didn't think of it further as she focused her gaze on Cho Shiye. 'Well, there's some people who want to be edgy. I should leave them be and focus on her instead.'

"Why do you seem displeased?" Kim Hae-yoon asked, grinning. "Are you jealous?" She teased as Cho Shiye's face turned red in an instant but she coughed and maintained her calm.

"Why would I be?" Cho Shiye asked in a scoff as Kim Hae-yoon laughed. "Why? Are you thinking of making her concubine?" Her mouth blabbered without her realizing as she gritted her teeth.

'What am I saying?'

Kim Hae-yoon looked at her, amused, as she shook her head. "Why would I need anyone when I have my wife?" She smirked proudly.

Cho Shiye blushed. "Whatever, I'm ending the call."

"Ah, wait!" The call ended as Kim Hae-yoon laughed. "Seriously… She's so cute!" She giggled.

Kim Hae-yoon entered the room and didn't bother to greet her uncle as she took her coat. "Oh, you're finally back!" Her uncle smiled. "So, have you thought about it?"

Kim Hae-yoon didn't bother to listen to him as she wanted to see and be with Cho Shiye and answered yes to everything that her uncle tried to say.

"Good, I'll contact Butler Park for your appointments and, I'm happy you're taking this seriously." Kim Dong-cheol took a sip of the bottle which he emptied with one gulp. "They're making a move after all."

Kim Hae-yoon froze and didn't look back as she left.
