Chapter 7 - Chapter Seven: Tricked by Little Rascals

Sensing something amiss, Lu Anru immediately thought of the scheming Gao Ying. She wondered if Snow White was similar to Gao Ying—sensitive and deceptively strong?

Usually, Gao Ying maintained the demeanor of the junior martial arts queen, loudly proclaiming that she would definitely defeat Ning Guang and not treat other competitors lightly.

However, as long as Ning Guang had even a little intimate contact with her (or anyone not considered a competitor), Gao Ying would immediately shut down.

Lu Anru hadn't experienced romantic love between a man and a woman, but she'd seen enough passion from her close friends to understand that it was the kind of love that said, 'It must be him, only him, and no one else.'

Understanding this, Lu Anru adopted an attitude of understanding and nodded in agreement.

Being able to sit in the house, comfortably waiting for the assassin to appear, was a small price to pay for cooperating with the host.

"Thank you. Ever since I read your story with Snow White, I've liked you guys for almost ten years now."

The prince considerately brought out pastries, leaning forward slightly, placing his right hand over his chest and gesturing with his left hand towards the pink pastries, employing the unique etiquette of the Ojian people.

"Hehe, we are honored to have a lovely young lady like you as a fan. Please, try them. They taste wonderful."

The red pastries, similar to soft cream puffs, were neatly arranged on a plate, emitting a tempting apple fragrance. Calculating the time she had spent, lunchtime was approaching.

Lu Anru's hand reached out uncontrollably towards the pastries, stopping halfway as she glanced weakly at the prince.

Seeing Lu Anru's struggling little hand, the prince looked into her bright eyes, his gaze filled with anticipation, as if silently asking, 'Can I eat it? Can I?'

The prince's handsome features couldn't help but burst into laughter at Lu Anru's adorable expression, but he quickly contained his amusement, pushing the plate forward once again and extending the invitation.

"Please, help yourself."

Lu Anru grabbed one of the pastries with both hands, about to put it in her mouth, and casually uttered, "I remember your beloved Snow White was pricked by a spinning wheel and fell into a deep sleep. You broke through the siege and entered the palace to save her, and then you kissed her to wake her up, right?"

With confidence in her statement, Lu Anru looked up to see the prince's face turn ashen, as if he had been slapped with the words, 'You fake fan!'

Lu Anru pursed her lips, her two pale fingers pinching the pastry, hovering in front of her mouth, feeling at a loss.

The prince's eyes softened as he silently acknowledged his mistake, smiling as he explained, "My beloved ate the poison apple from the witch, so it's a different situation from what you described."

"Oh!" Lu Anru lightly patted her mouth with the back of her hand, feeling regretful, "I got it mixed up, sorry."

"It's okay," the prince replied with tolerance, but as soon as he finished speaking, he heard the question that almost choked him.

"A poison apple, turned into a cake?"

Lu Anru innocently asked, raising the apple-flavored pastry in her hand.

The prince squeezed out an answer from between his teeth, his patience almost exhausted, "It's not in the form of a cake, it's just a pure apple, a ripe red apple."

"Ah, really? That's a shame. What's so delicious about just apples? They're only enticing when they're in cakes," Lu Anru lamented.

The prince frowned, feeling troubled as he corrected her, "My beloved likes to eat apples. Adding poison to a cake would be troublesome and could easily produce strange flavors that would be detected."

Lu Anru listened attentively, nodding understandingly, "I see. Snow White is too pure and innocent, easily deceived."

The prince, feeling weary, casually added, "Yes."

He then witnessed the little girl in front of him performing a mukbang, demonstrating how to eat two pieces of pastry in two bites, giving him an inexplicable feeling of being tricked by a little rascal!

Lu Anru first took a bite out of one pastry with her left hand, savoring its soft and sweet flavor, and then quickly swallowed the remaining half. She then hurriedly stuffed the other three pieces of pastry into her mouth, crushing them forcefully and swallowing them down with her hand wiping over her neck.

Feeling slightly more comfortable, she hastily grabbed the silver Cang sword hanging at her waist and turned around, scolding the assassin sternly.

"Disturbing others while they're enjoying their food is very rude, you know?"

Drawing her sword, she pointed it at the emotionless assassin.

However, the assassin's exquisite features were completely different from what she remembered of assassins. Puzzled, she looked to the side at the prince, silently asking with her eyes, 'What's going on?'

The prince awkwardly smiled at her and hurriedly said, "My beloved is back. Could you please put away your weapon, lovely girl? The door is loose, and it can't withstand too much pushing."

Although the explanation was obviously covering up the truth, she couldn't be bothered to expose it.

Since the prince himself had confirmed Snow White's identity, Lu Anru put away her sword.

Seeing the couple's affectionate display, Lu Anru was certain that Snow White's emotions had stabilized, allowing her to remember there was another person in the room.

With their hands tightly clasped together, facing Lu Anru, they got down to business. "If you want to leave here, you must pass through the forest. Be careful of the flower rabbits in the woods—they're the witch's minions. Don't let them catch you, or they'll lead you in the wrong direction."

"Okay, thank you."
