Chapter 62 - Monarch's fate

All the kids nodded their heads with a stern gaze on their faces.

Kael's lips curled up seeing the determination in the kids' eyes. He moved close to the zombie leaders and said while placing his hands on their shoulders, "Take care of them while I'm not in the base."

"Ok, boss," the two zombie leaders nodded their heads with a stern gaze on their faces.

Then he turned to look at the young ladies and said, "I have important matters to attend to. I will be leaving for a few days. Take care of yourselves and the kids."

"Hmm," the young ladies nodded their heads in response to Kael's words.

Kael walked out of the main hall and moved towards the entrance. Soon he came close to the main door and stepped out of the building.

Meanwhile, at a far distance in space…

At the immortal plain, a beautiful clear sky became cloudy with black clouds, and sounds of thunder reverberated all over that plain. Immortal beings, one after another, slowly woke up from their enlightened state and stepped out of their grand yet magnificent buildings.

"What's happening? Did someone have an epiphany and achieve a higher stage in immortality?"

"I think so too."

"Maybe not. The sky is more violent than usual. Is it indicating an incoming catastrophe?"

"Morgan, your monarch's fate is going to change. A warrior who will slay you has emerged in this universe. If you die at his hands, your monarch's fate will be taken by him," a majestic voice reverberated all over the immortal plain.

A few lower-level immortals even lost consciousness due to the pressure exerted on them.

The moment the voice stopped, everything became normal and the sky, covered in black clouds, became clear.

"What? Morgan is going to lose the monarch's fate?"

"Who is this warrior that can take Morgan's life?"

"Morgan is the descendant of the current monarch, right? How can he lose his life and fate to some unknown warrior that emerged in this universe?"

"Let's see what's going to happen in the future."

Meanwhile, at the grand palace, which was hovering in the air…

"Young master, your servant requests an audience with you," a guard wearing shiny golden armor appeared in front of Morgan's room's main door.

"Get inside," a voice filled with a sharp yet stern tone came out of the room.

The guard opened the door and entered inside, then he knelt in front of the young man who was hovering in the air while his eyes remained shut tightly.

"If what you are going to say is not important, you will face severe punishment for disturbing my enlightened state," the young man's words sent a chill down the guard's spine.

Since the monarch's palace is in a different dimension in the immortal plain, he had no idea what happened in the immortal plain.

The guard wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said, "Young master…"

"What?" The whole monarch's palace shook for a moment. Cracks spread all over the room and the guard fell back but immediately knelt back on the floor.

"A warrior emerged in the universe who can slay me and take away my monarch's fate." The young man opened his eyes and the planets in his eyes crashed with each other. His eyes glowed brightly, and he said each word with increasing pressure gushing out of his body. The guard was suffocated and lost consciousness.

He disappeared from the spot he was hovering and appeared in front of a huge tree in the middle of a huge lake. An old man was sitting on the grassland and staring at the Milky Way with a serene look on his aged face.

"Grandfather…"

Before the young man could finish what he was saying, the old man interrupted him, "I know why you are here. Even though I am the monarch of the immortals, I can't go against the creator. If you think you have what it takes to be the monarch of the immortals, then prove it with your own effort. Find the warrior and kill him to protect your monarch's fate."

"Grandfather…"

"You can go now."

The young man disappeared from the spot he was standing.

"Grand... Father..." Morgan was pissed and stomped on the ground, where cracks spread for a few meters like a spider web.

He tried to enter inside but couldn't, as the old man restricted him from entering.

"Warrior, huh? I will surely find you and see what you are capable of," Morgan murmured while clenching his fists.

Meanwhile, in the Apocalyptic world…

Kael was farming points when he suddenly felt his head hurt and a few scenes flashed through his eyes, but he couldn't remember a single scene that flashed through his head.

"System, what the hell just happened to me? What were those scenes? I don't remember a single scene that I saw in my head," asked Kael while sweat droplets slid down his forehead.

[Host, this is an unknown phenomenon and I don't have access to the details of what happened to you just now.]

"Tsk," Kael was annoyed since even the system didn't have any idea what happened to him a moment ago. He couldn't help but give up thinking about it.

While he was distracted by his thoughts, he heard a cry filled with fear and despair.

Kael came back to his senses. "Where's that sound coming from? Mini scanner, scan for life signs."

[Scan is completed…. No life signs are discovered.]

"What?" Kael was taken aback.

"Ahh…"

"Now I can hear it more clearly than before. I'm sure it was a cry coming from a human," Kael murmured and closed his eyes to pinpoint the direction the cry was coming from.

"It was coming from this direction," Kael opened his eyes and looked in the direction the cry was coming from.

He may be careless and carefree when it comes to his life, but it is a different matter when someone's life is in danger. He does his best to protect that life, whatever it takes.

He enabled his level 2 Zombie leader title, concentrated all the energy in his body in his legs, and moved in the direction the cry was coming from, beyond his limit.

"Ha… ha… ha…" sweat drops slowly slid down from his chin, but he didn't decrease his speed and maintained the exact speed while moving in the direction the cry was coming from.
