Chapter 63 - I wondered how cannibals smell

Kael stopped at the entrance of the supermarket and walked inside. It was completely empty, and there were a few zombies slowly walking here and there. Since he had activated the level 2 Zombie Leader title, no zombie dared to approach him; they all cowered into the shadows.

He frowned and concentrated on his hearing sense. He heard a cry and immediately moved in that direction. The supermarket storage room appeared in front of him, and he slowly walked inside. Bones of humans were scattered all over the floor, and the stench filled the air. Since he could control his senses, it was not a big deal to him. He moved forward.

Slabs of decaying human flesh were suspended on heavy chains, swaying slightly as they hung from the ceiling. The moment he saw it, he understood that it was a cannibal's lair.

"Damn, this city is filled with cannibals," Kael shook his head with an annoyed look on his face.

He moved forward and saw a naked pregnant woman tied and hanging from the chains. She was tired and had no energy left to cry, her voice reduced to hoarse, distorted squeaks.

There were two women talking to each other in the next room, which was attached to the storage room. "Ella, hehe, it's been so long since we had tender meat for a meal. Now soon, we're going to have it, I can't stop drooling."

"Yeah, Alle, I can hardly contain myself from rushing to her and cutting her belly to hold that tender meat in my hands," said Ella, her hands shaking with excitement.

"It's really rare to see female cannibals," Kael murmured while holding his chin. "But these female cannibals are more ruthless and disgusting than male cannibals. Excited to eat an unborn baby? Just thinking about it makes me puke."

He moved and stopped in front of the pregnant woman. She heard the movement, slowly opened her heavy eyelids, and stared at Kael.

A very low voice came out of her mouth, but the first thing she said was to save her unborn baby's life; she didn't ask him to save her own life.

Kael was moved. He had been an orphan since he was a newborn baby, and he had never seen his mother's face, but he still remembered the warmth of her embrace. He reached out his hand to wipe the tears from her face and said, "I will save both of your lives. Leave everything to me from here onwards."

After hearing his words, her body shook violently for a moment, and she used all the strength in her body to raise her head and stare at his face, engraving it in her mind. She knew it was impossible to find someone who would risk their life to protect others in an apocalyptic world like this, so she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with shock and happiness.

"Tha… thanks," she said in a very low, hoarse voice, her eyes filled with endless gratefulness.

He reached out his hand to break the chains into pieces, then lifted her into his embrace and carried her to a nearby table, gently laying her on it. A water bottle appeared in his hand, and he took off the cap, slowly pouring the water into her dried mouth.

She drank the water and felt alive again. Then, an apple appeared in his hand. He skinned it and placed it in her hand. She started eating hurriedly, having been starving for days. She ate everything, including the seeds. Kael wanted to stop her from eating the apple seeds, but her words echoed in his head: "Save my baby." So he retracted his hand and let her eat everything.

She was close to dying. What would happen if she ate a few apple seeds? All she wanted at that moment was to eat the food and not let her unborn baby die from hunger.

Kael sighed, and a basket appeared beside her. He started skinning one apple after another at full speed, and she continued eating with short gaps.

"Ella, looks like we got another free meal. Today we're going to have a huge feast," said Alle, licking her lips with a hungry gaze.

"Yeah, tender meat and tight meat," said Ella, licking her lips and looking Kael up and down greedily.

Kael disappeared and reappeared in front of them, using instant burst speed. He held the two huge melons in each of his hands. Both young ladies were dazed on the spot.

He squeezed the melons a few times, and the pregnant woman choked and coughed, disbelief written all over her face.

The two female cannibals came back to their senses when they heard the sound of coughing and were taken aback when they saw what Kael was doing with their melons.

They angrily glared at him and shouted, "You're just a pig ready to get slaughtered in our hands! How dare you touch our body parts? Take your filthy hands away!"

The two female cannibals, holding an axe and a butcher knife, slashed at him. Kael moved behind them while still holding their melons and said, "Hmm, cannibal or not, a woman is a woman in the end. It feels really great, so smooth and bouncy."

"You pervert! Die!" the two female cannibals shrieked angrily and attacked him simultaneously.

Kael moved to their front, and the axe and butcher knife hit their backs. Painful moans escaped from their mouths, blood seeping from their wounds, drenching their backs.

"Oh, it hurts, right? It's okay; it's just the beginning," said Kael, moving close to their ears. His words, filled with endless calm, sent chills through their spines.

They looked at each other and attacked his hands. Kael dodged their attacks, again held their melons, and started squeezing them.

They became more and more angry due to pain and frustration. The two female cannibals continued attacking him frantically, but it didn't take long for them to get tired, while his hands never left their melons.

Kael moved close to them and smelled them. "I wondered how cannibals smell. You both smell like shit."
