Chapter 111 - The gift of Amaterasu

Pov Dia,

The party went very well. Thor, the god of thunder, wanted to challenge me, but I managed to postpone it until later, when I have mastered my new power and can give him a fight worthy of the name.

The three gods of Hidou were very nice, even though I had killed Hades, who was apparently very hated among his peers.

Once the celebration began to wind down, I went to see Amaterasu as promised.

Amaterasu: "First of all, I would like to thank you again for saving Inari and her husband. At first, I confess that I was skeptical when I heard that a devil had helped protect me, so I watched you with the intention of killing you if you ever did anything wrong."

This was understandable, but was this necessary to say?

Amaterasu: "I admit that I was about to kill you when you used your technique called Fireworks. We were all very scared at Takamagahara, believing that someone was declaring war on us, before we noticed the beauty of this attack, which has now become the main attraction in Kyoto."

Dia: "It was a project done on a whim because there was a big finale to this festival, and my wife asked me to try. I am aware that it must have scared you, and I am sorry."

Amaterasu: "You know, we would have attacked you, and you'd be dead. Anyway, as time passed, I became more attached to you as a protector. Also, Scathach kept boasting about you, which allowed me to get to know you better. So I have a question for you: do you like Japan?"

Dia: "Yes, I'm a huge fan of it. If I could, I would have conquered this place."

Amaterasu: "I see. Would you like to receive a territory to inhabit or rule?"

I couldn't believe her statement. She really wants me, a devil, to rule a human city.

Amaterasu: "Don't make that dismayed face. After all, you are a good leader and would help forge strong ties with the Crimson Faction."

Dia: "If I can be honest, I don't want to govern a human city because I already have too much to govern, and besides, I don't have enough sympathy for this race."

Amaterasu: "Understandable."

Dia: "But I wouldn't mind having a territory where I could build a house for vacations, something more Asian, so I accept."

Amaterasu: "That's great! The place you're going to is a small village called Kuoh. I'll take you there whenever you want."

Dia: "The sooner the better, because I'll need to build the house, and even though it's not difficult, it will be very complex in some ways."

Amaterasu: "We can go now, what do you say?"

I took her arm and prepared to leave before realizing I had no idea where the famous Kuoh village was.

I wanted to bury myself in a hole; it was so embarrassing.

Amaterasu: "Don't be so embarrassed. First, I must go see my sister, who would like to meet you too."

I was curious to meet this person, the one whose daughter is tied to an ancient tale: Princess Kaguya.
